Chapter 38: She Hasn’t Played the Piano for a Long Time
CHAPTER 38: CHAPTER 38: SHE HASN’T PLAYED THE PIANO FOR A LONG TIME
Gu Anxi was quietly eating her meal when Bo Xichen spoke in a low voice, "Let me check your hand later."
Her eyes shot up suddenly.
Bo Xichen smiled faintly.
Feng Mian, standing to one side, felt rather redundant.
After dinner, he checked it, and fortunately, the situation wasn’t too bad.
Bo Xichen used a spray on the joints of her fingers. Gu Anxi immediately felt a refreshing cool sensation that was quite comforting.
He looked at her. "One more month of persistence should do the trick."
Gu Anxi shook her hand. "Thank you, Dr. Bo."
Bo Xichen, tall and slender, rose and went to the bookshelf, from which he retrieved a book.
He placed the thick, heavy book into Gu Anxi’s hands.
Gu Anxi stared at the book, a hint of surprise in her eyes.
It was a translated version of the medical book. She remembered this book hadn’t been translated.
"I translated it in college. It was only published internally; you can’t buy it outside," Bo Xichen answered calmly, seeming to read her thoughts.
Gu Anxi looked down again. Bo Xichen watched her before suddenly saying, "Do you want to study medicine with me?"
She was stunned again as she looked at him.
Bo Xichen stretched out his hand as if to touch her small head, but then he withdrew it.
He said, "Don’t you want Mr. Gu to wake up sooner? What, are you unwilling?"
Gu Anxi suddenly countered, "Have you been investigating me? Why?"
Bo Xichen didn’t respond.
Feng Mian popped out from nowhere. "Because, kid, you are very interesting."
Gu Anxi took the book. "I’m going to visit my father. I’m taking the book with me. Thank you, Dr. Bo."
As she reached the door, Bo Xichen’s voice followed her, "I can spare two hours a day to teach you."
Feng Mian grumbled inwardly. Dr. Bo can only spare two hours a day... This has to be love!
Whether Gu Anxi heard him or not, she left without a word.
Feng Mian grinned. "The only one who can reject Young Bo is probably that kid."
"You talk too much." Bo Xichen casually flipped through some documents, then, as if remembering something, asked, "From Fengxi’s end... is there still no news about Unlimited?"
Feng Mian hopped onto the desk and sat down. "There’s been no movement recently. He probably knows the whole world is looking for him. That kid is very slippery."
He continued, "Unlimited is probably not in Qingcheng anymore. Are we going to stay here?"
Given Dr. Bo’s busy schedule, it was unlikely he could stay in Qingcheng for long.
Bo Xichen glanced at him. The way his long, slender fingers held the pen was strikingly elegant.
After a moment of contemplation, he said, "Aren’t the people from the Chu and Jiang families all in Qingcheng? Let’s stay a little longer and observe the situation."
In the following days, life was peaceful. Gu Yuntian remained the same, but the nurses here took good care of him.
Gu Anxi always urged Granny Chen to rest, but Granny Chen was quite stubborn and refused.
On Wednesday, Gu Anxi finally returned to school.
She slept through one lesson, didn’t even attend the second, and went straight to the school library.
The library of Qing University was a landmark building, designed by a renowned architect in an ancient Roman-style, domed structure.
The vast hall, with its arched ceiling of multicolored glass, refracted rays of light.
Bookshelves were scattered about, and in one corner stood an expensive piano, also donated by Gu Yuntian.
Because Gu Anxi liked to play the piano.
But she hadn’t played in a very long time.
Gu Anxi slowly walked over and sat down. Her fingers brushed against the black piano lid, which was covered with a thin layer of pale dust.
