CHAPTER 49: CHAPTER 49: SHALL I CALL YOU BROTHER, OR UNCLE?

After he spoke, Gu Anxi was speechless.

Bo Xichen’s eyes lowered. "Do you know how to cook?"

Gu Anxi shook her head.

"I’ll teach you when I’m done with my shower." He decided just like that.

And so, Gu Anxi became Professor Bo’s student and assistant at Yunxi Hospital. She felt they had skipped a few steps in the process.

Ten minutes later, Bo Xichen emerged from the bathroom, his hair slightly damp. Without bothering to dry it completely, he led Gu Anxi to the kitchen.

The kitchen here was as immaculate as a laboratory, leaving Gu Anxi utterly clueless about where to start.

Bo Xichen prepared a simple dish. After finishing, he looked down at her, his ice-blue eyes watching her, and asked, "Did you get it?"

Gu Anxi shook her head.

He stared at her, then after a moment, he smiled. "You can learn next time."

It was getting late, the time she should have been leaving, but Gu Anxi hadn’t made a move.

Bo Xichen looked up. "What is it?"

Gu Anxi said softly, "Dad’s in the hospital."

"I know." A faint smile touched his eyes. "So..."

"The school called for a guardian." Gu Anxi’s voice grew even quieter.

The smile on Bo Xichen’s face deepened. "So, if I go, should I go as your brother or your uncle?"

Gu Anxi remained silent.

Bo Xichen suddenly spoke, "I’m 28. Let’s go with brother, then!"

He got up and walked over to her. "From now on, when it’s just us, you can call me Bo Xichen."

Gu Anxi looked up. "Can’t I call you that in front of others?"

Bo Xichen smiled. "Not yet."

As the future Family Head of Beicheng’s foremost family, aside from his parents and direct elders, no one else was permitted to call Bo Xichen by his full name. Only if Gu Anxi had an extraordinary relationship with him could she call him Bo Xichen.

Feng Mian frowned. "Weren’t you supposed to be going as a guest professor?"

Bo Xichen’s gaze turned slightly colder. "They don’t seem to conflict."

Feng Mian screamed internally: Status! It’s all about status! Young Master Bo, you’re the future Family Head of the Bo family! If you go acting as her guardian, do you realize what a massive uproar this ’brother-sister’ act will cause?

Bo Xichen lowered his gaze. "Don’t you think Gu Anxi... doesn’t actually need to study at Qingcheng University? Her English is good enough for fluent conversation, her computer skills are probably comparable only to a top-tier hacker like ’King’, and her fighting abilities are enough to handle a brawl. Do you remember Number 85 from the motorcade?"

Feng Mian was stunned for a moment, then rubbed his chin. "Then why on earth is she still at Qingcheng University?"

"The truth," Bo Xichen said calmly, "is likely related to Gu Yuntian’s car accident."
