CHAPTER 5: CHAPTER 5: KIDS REALLY ARE SUPER BEAUTIFUL

Shen Wanqing’s smile was somewhat forced. Her relationship with Qin Siyuan was good, but... they weren’t officially together yet, which left her feeling uneasy.

In her mother’s words, it only counted once the ’raw rice was cooked,’ especially now that Gu Anxi was back!

As Shen Wanqing was thinking, she lifted her eyes and saw Gu Anxi walking towards her from the opposite direction.

She stopped and asked with concern, "Anxi, did Professor Gao give you a hard time?"

She had initially thought that Gu Anxi would at least acknowledge her with a word or two in front of others. However, Gu Anxi walked straight past her, not even sparing her a single glance, let alone a response.

Shen Wanqing felt extremely embarrassed.

The indignant Lin Qi beside her huffed, "She still thinks she’s the Gu family’s precious young miss? Now she’s just a dependent, living off others. Wanqing, once you marry into the Qin family, we’ll see who has to defer to whom then!"

Shen Wanqing laughed as if she didn’t care. "Gu Anxi is indeed having a hard time now. I’ve vaguely heard she even has to work in a bar at night. For the university president and the department head to be so tolerant of her... Anxi must have her good side."

The surrounding classmates suddenly got all fired up. "Really? She’s working in a bar?! And Gu Anxi is so pretty, do you think President Wang might... have some kind of interest in her?"

Shen Wanqing stared at Gu Anxi’s retreating figure, the corners of her mouth curling up slightly.

At this moment, Qin Siyuan approached from behind. "What are you talking about?"

Someone with a big mouth blurted out, "We were discussing whether Gu Anxi might be having an affair with President Wang."

Qin Siyuan frowned, his displeasure evident.

Shen Wanqing hurriedly said, "Anxi would never do such a thing."

She looked up. "Siyuan, I know that the tuition at Qing University is very expensive, which is why Anxi has to work in a place like a bar. Should we help her?"

The implication in her words caused Qin Siyuan’s expression to darken, but he said nothing, only gazing at Gu Anxi’s retreating figure.

After leaving the university, Gu Anxi headed straight to the ’Emperor’s Color’ bar and changed into her work uniform.

Her job was to polish wine glasses.

Seated at the bar, she polished them one by one. Her beauty was striking; she was a picturesque sight wherever she went. The manager’s only requirement for her was to sit there for three hours every night; it didn’t matter if she did anything or not.

Her daily wage was three hundred, which wasn’t low.

’Emperor’s Color’ was the most upscale bar in Qingcheng, frequented by the most upper-crust clientele.

In a corner, two tall figures were seated.

Bo Xichen leaned back in his chair, his slender, jade-like fingers idly playing with a mug. His ice-blue eyes were fixed on the golden liquid inside, his thoughts unreadable.

Feng Mian, who had been antsy for some time and couldn’t bear it any longer, leaned in. "Dr. Bo, it’s that work of art from the hospital this afternoon."

"Hmm?" Bo Xichen looked up.

Feng Mian repeated, "Over at the bar." He gestured with his chin.

Bo Xichen’s gaze landed on Gu Anxi. She was wearing the ’Emperor’s Color’ uniform, yet she wore it so stunningly it looked like haute couture.

"This girl is gorgeous," Feng Mian gestured. "Her leg proportions are unreal, and her face is incredibly beautiful."

At least, he had never seen anyone so attractive.

Bo Xichen gave a faint smile. "It’s that little kid."

"She definitely looks like she’s of age," Feng Mian pointed out.

Bo Xichen’s ice-blue eyes landed on him. Feng Mian touched his nose and fell silent.

His master continued to sip his drink leisurely, making no attempt to disturb the little kid.

Indeed, he was so unnervingly ascetic, it wasn’t normal!

Just as Feng Mian was thinking this, a cold gaze shot towards him from across the room. Wow, it’s that little kid.
