Chapter 182: Chapter 194: She is My Unexpected Surprise (7) Chapter 182: Chapter 194: She is My Unexpected Surprise (7) Isabel Smith took a deep breath, pulling back her wandering thoughts and calmly responded, “I’m coming.”

“Madam and the others are back, and lunch is almost ready, Miss Isabel. You can come downstairs now.”

“Right away.” Isabel replied before removing her fingers from the ceramic cup. She composed herself, then slowly stepped out of her room in her high heels.

By some coincidence, as Isabel left her room, Elijah Smith also exited his, still on his phone call. He had a gentle expression which soured the moment he saw Isabel. His tone on the phone suddenly sounded irritated, “You’re already downstairs, why can’t you just come up, instead of asking me to fetch you!”

With that, Elijah hung up the phone with an audible click and turned back to enter his room. He slammed the door shut, making a thunderous noise.

Isabel stood in the corridor, looking at Elijah’s closed door, and sneered. She then turned around and continued her way downstairs in her high heels.

As Isabel was halfway down the staircase, Evelyn Osbert and a very young-looking girl walked up together.

Evelyn acted as if she didn’t see Isabel, just turning her head and saying to the young girl, “Elijah can be moody, don’t take it to heart. I’ll talk to him later for you.”

“Thank you, Sister Charlotte,” the girl replied, wiping her tears and sounding aggrieved.

As Evelyn was about to speak, she noticed someone standing in front of her. Her words caught in her throat and looked up, only to see Isabel looking down at her condescendingly.

The girl who had come with Evelyn didn’t know Isabel. She glanced at both her and Evelyn, before asking, “Charlotte, who is she?”

Evelyn diverted her gaze from Isabel and said sweetly to the girl, “Elijah’s room is the third one on the second storey, counting from the left. Go ahead and knock.”

“Oh,” the girl responded, and continued upstairs.

Isabel stood in the middle of the staircase, her face expressionless, but exuding an intense aura that made the girl stick closely to the wall as she passed by, avoiding Isabel. She then hurriedly ran to Elijah’s room, raised her hand, and knocked on the door.

Only after the girl left did Evelyn turn to Isabel with a sweet smile, speaking softly, “Sister Isabel.”

Isabel didn’t have to guess that it was the girl who had just called Elijah and that Evelyn had brought her here.

Isabel looked at Evelyn with her coy, delicate act, sneered, and continued her way down, stopping for a moment in front of Evelyn before saying sarcastically, “Evelyn, why are you so despicable? Can’t you just be your delicate little innocent flower act? Instead, you insist on stealing business from a madam’s pimping!”

Evelyn’s face turned red and white, her gaze full of wounded pride. However, Isabel wasn’t one to fall for the outwardly weak, but inwardly vicious woman’s charms. She just sneered and roughly bumped past Evelyn, walking straight down the stairs without wavering.

Evelyn nearly lost her balance from Isabel’s bump, but managed to grip the staircase in time. She looked at Isabel’s unapologetic figure, her eyes filled with an unsatisfied grudge.
