CHAPTER 30: FANTASY & REALITY

"Are you serious?" Alpha Maxwell was shocked by her suggestion.

"Yes, I’m serious. If I go home, my father will only scold and punish me for having a son out of wedlock. Besides he will become furious that I disappeared only to resurface with a son and the father of my child was nowhere to be seen. I’m scared of facing my father and explaining everything to him." Naomi’s eyes were swarmed with tears.

Alpha Maxwell was against her idea. "But we have to go home to our respective families and show ourselves to them in the flesh, to let them know we are alive. We can’t just disappear again as if we don’t have families waiting back home. We owe our families the truth. Do you understand?"

"But they will only separate us!" Naomi protested in a wretched tone.

Alpha Maxwell cupped her face. "Sweetie you have to go home and initiate a formal break-up with your boyfriend. Don’t worry after I break up with my fiancée I will formally ask for your hand in marriage. I will talk to your father. I will make sure he agrees with our marriage. Let’s settle our problems the proper way. Going away is never a solution. Stop thinking about that stupid suggestion of yours, OK?" he said, trying to convince her that his way was the right way.

"OK." Naomi nodded her head. Deep inside she was depressed and sad that he was not willing to elope with her and their son. For her it is the best solution to their problem. Unfortunately, he is against it.

The whole day, Naomi felt unhappy. She couldn’t shake the feeling of despair she felt inside.

Good thing Alpha Maxwell didn’t see the sadness in her eyes because she knew how to hide her feelings well. He was busy taking care of their son. He was a devoted father to baby Jacob. That is one thing she likes so much about him. He is a good father to their son. She hoped he would never change.

The whole day passed like a blur.

That night, Naomi slept late because she was dealing with crippling anxiety, worrying about coming home and dealing with her father’s wrath.

...

The following day, Naomi woke up to a new day, feeling excited about their wedding that would take place at 3:00 in the afternoon.

The morning passed quickly.

Since this was their special day, she must look happy and radiant. She must act like she is the most elegant bride to walk down the aisle.

After breastfeeding her son, Naomi entered the bathroom and took a shower.

A few minutes later, she came out of the bathroom. She felt refreshed and energized.

This is her wedding day. She should act like a happy bride.

She glanced at the crib. "Is Jacob sleeping now?" she asked.

"Yup," Alpha Maxwell replied. "I’ll take a shower," he said and went to the bathroom.

Naomi dressed her son for the occasion. Then she went to the closet, took her wedding dress and put it on. The dress fits her curves in the right places. Nice!

She slid her feet into her shoes, then stood in front of the mirror and brushed her hair. It doesn’t matter if there’s no makeup, foundation or lipstick on her lips. She just let her wavy hair cascade down her back. She liked the way she looked in her wedding gown. Lovely and elegant

Zero’s voice cut through the silence. "Naomi dear, you look fabulous in your gown."

Naomi giggled. "Thank you Zero!"

"I will open the door so that the staff can come in and take baby Jacob to the venue," Zero said.

"Sure." Naomi walked to the crib and covered baby Jacob’s sleeping form with a baby blanket. "See you at the venue, son." She planted a kiss on his tiny forehead.

The door opened and staff came in.

"You look beautiful in your wedding gown, ma’am," the female staff commented.

"Thank you," Naomi replied with a smile, pushing the baby’s crib towards the door.

After the staff and baby Jacob left the room, Naomi continued beautifying herself in front of the mirror.

The bathroom door opened and Alpha Maxwell emerged. His eyes landed on Naomi, clad in her wedding dress. He walked towards her, kissed her cheeks and said, "You look gorgeous in your wedding dress, sweetie."

"Thank you." Naomi erupted in a giggle. "It’s now time for you to wear your tuxedo. I can’t wait to marry you," she said in a thrilled voice, heading to the closet to get his black suit.

"Me too!" Alpha Maxwell replied cheerfully.

After donning the tuxedo, Naomi brushes Alpha Maxwell’s hair and makes sure his hair stays in place. She looked at him, her eyes flashing with admiration. "You look dashing in your tuxedo," she said adoringly.

Alpha Maxell grinned. "Thank you, wife. You look stunning as well."

Tears of gladness and happiness sprang from Naomi’s eyes. She was happy that she got to marry him and was able to wear a wedding gown today. One of her fantasies has already been fulfilled ever since she fell in love with him. But why does she have a nagging feeling that this scene might never happen again?

Alpha Maxwell noticed tears in her eyes. He cupped her face lovingly. "Why are you crying, sweetie? What’s the problem?" He asked worriedly.

Naomi smiled. "Just tears of happiness."

"Ah, okay, you got me worried for a moment," he said with relief.

That very moment, Naomi felt emotional. She hugged him tightly. "I love you so much. Please don’t forget I love you. Your son and I love you so much!"

Alpha Maxwell rubs her back gently. "I love you more, sweetie. Thanks for loving me," he said huskily. He planted a kiss on her head. His eyes glowed with sincere love for Naomi.

After a few minutes of hugging each other, the couple parted, holding hands.

Alpha Maxwell looked up at the ceiling. "Zero, we are ready to get married. Open the door!" he commanded, grinning broadly, winking at his wife.

"Copy boss!" Zero replied. "See you at the venue, lovebirds. I still need to get ready for the wedding. I already had my suit with me. I’m excited!"

The couple laughed.

When the door opened, the couple exited the room, wore a smile on their faces, and held hands.

Outside, they got into the e-vehicle for a short ride to the wedding venue, located inside the facility.

When the couple arrived at the venue, they were stunned and shocked because the whole place was magical with fairy tale themed decorations.

Lush florals, twinkling lights, moss and foliage can be seen hanging from every branch of the plastic trees erected on every corner. Vintage chandeliers and candle-lit lanterns create a warm magical glow. The whole place was adorned with vibrant flower arrangements.

About 150 people attended the wedding. They all looked at the groom and bride with their faces hidden by a mask.

The couple was speechless. They thought this was just an ordinary wedding.

They never thought it would mimic a real wedding.

The wedding looked real, starting with the decorated tables, chairs and ceiling. The venue’s decorations look expensive. Stardust covered the tablecloth with fine dining utensils on full display.

The long buffet table was overflowing with delicious food.

"Wow, the cake looks fabulous!" Naomi exclaimed gazing at her 5-tier wedding cake, sitting pretty on top of the table, decorated with red roses. Tears of gratitude filled her eyes.

The videographer and photographer were busy taking pictures of the couple.

The staff nearby was holding baby Jacob in her arms.

Another staff member came to the couple’s side and handed Naomi her bridal bouquet. "Sir, ma’am, are you ready now for the wedding march? Or do you still need a few minutes more?" she asked.

"Yes, we are ready! Let’s do it!" the couple replied in unison.

"Come with me to the podium Alpha Maxwell. You will wait for the bride there," the staff said.

"OK." Alpha Maxwell walked to the podium and stood beside the officiating minister, wearing a white face mask.

The bridal march music filled the air.

Naomi walked radiantly towards the podium, looking straight into Alpha Maxwell’s eyes, savoring the special moment unfolding in her eyes. She smiled, her beauty radiating throughout the room.

All eyes were glued to the lovely bride smiling happily.

When Naomi finally reached the podium, the officiating minister started the wedding ceremony.

The couple exchanged vows.

The minister produced two wedding rings and the couple exchanged rings. Then the couple initiated a kiss to everyone’s delight.

The newlyweds signed a fake marriage contract to seal the deal in their union.

The solemn wedding ceremony lasted half an hour.

When the wedding ceremony was finally over, Naomi was teary-eyed. In her heart, the wedding was real.

The wedding music filled the air and the couple danced in the center of the room.

The couple gazed into each other’s eyes.

"I’m shocked, this wedding looks so real!" Naomi gushed in amazement and disbelief.

"Yeah, it seems they went all out to give us an expensive fake wedding," Alpha Maxwell smiled in amusement.

Naomi cleared her throat. "This is our dream wedding. The only people missing from attendance are our families," she said gloomily.

"You are right. This wedding would have been perfect if our families were here celebrating with us," Alpha Maxwell said wistfully.

"Alright, let’s stop whining. This special event is all about you and me. Let’s just enjoy our wedding and worry about the rest later," Naomi said.

"Agree," Alpha Maxwell nodded his head.

The couple stopped dancing and went to their table.

The mellow music continued, serenading the newlywed couple and the attendees.

It’s now time to eat and enjoy wine and drinks.

The music was suddenly cut off by the sound of a woman’s voice. "Everyone, thank you for coming and attending Alpha Maxwell and Naomi’s special wedding. I wish them endless happiness and more children in the days to come. Now that the wedding ceremony is over, let’s enjoy the wine, food and music. Let the party begin!"

The crowd clapped and cheered.

The couple tried to locate the owner of the voice, but couldn’t find her. It seemed the voice was a pre-recorded message.

"Have you heard the woman’s voice before? Does she sound familiar to you?" Naomi asked her groom, trying to remember the woman’s voice.
