CHAPTER 66: ON OUR WAY

After Naomi finished reading the conversation, she switched to her private chat with Alpha Maxwell, waiting for him to reply to her chat. She was deeply worried about baby Jacob’s well-being and safety.

He didn’t wait long, he finally entered the chat.

Alpha Maxwell: Hey sweetie, have you read my conversation with Zero regarding our son?

Naomi: Yes, I’m excited and scared at the same time about this latest development.

Alpha Maxwell: Don’t be scared, everything will turn out fine.

Naomi: But I can’t help it.

Alpha Maxwell: By the way there are some changes to our plans. I no longer want to send our son to my aunt in the countryside because my grandmother has offered to take care of baby Jacob. I get to see him every day and that will make a big difference when it comes to his safety. The closer he is to me the better for his health and well being. You would agree, right?

Naomi: I have no problem with your plan because no matter how hard I try, my father won’t let me take care of our son. But Deborah might hurt our son out of jealousy. I’m scared of what she is capable of doing to our innocent son.

Alpha Maxwell: Please don’t worry about that issue anymore because my grandmother decided to stay in the bungalow house at the back of the mansion with our son to avoid conflict with Deborah, which means they will not cross paths. I hope you feel better now.

Naomi: Ah okay, I feel better now. Your grandmother is amazing. She is ready to sacrifice everything for our baby. She really is looking after our son’s safety and well-being.

Alpha Maxwell: Yeah, Grams was very kind to me. Best grandma ever! And besides safety issues, I think this is the best set-up for us because I can easily bring baby Jacob anywhere in the city to see you. The three of us can meet twice a month in secret, compared to the countryside which requires a long trip. Do you understand now why having baby Jacob close to me is beneficial for us?

Naomi: Yes, now I finally understand your plan. I loved to see my son once or twice a month. Thank you for making my heart happy today. At least I have something to look forward to in the days to come.

Alpha Maxwell: Everything I do today will always be for us, for our future. We just have to bear whatever trials and pains that will come our way so we can prepare ourselves for a brighter future ahead.

Naomi: I would really love to go to the park tomorrow so I could be there to see my son. Unfortunately, my father won’t let me out of the house. Maybe I’ll have more freedom after my wedding to Edison is finally over.

Alpha Maxwell: Me too. All this restriction is weighing heavily on us, but all of these will be temporary.

Naomi: Yes, the pain won’t last forever, but I’m just hoping we will be reunited soon so the pain and longing will stop. I don’t really like marrying Edison but I have no choice.

Alpha Maxwell: Me too. I don’t like marrying Deborah, but I have no choice as well. One day when we are no longer under the control of our family we can finally achieve real freedom and that is the day we can finally do anything we want with our lives without anyone’s intervention. Patience, survival and careful planning are the keys to success, sweetie. We shall survive all the obstacles together as long as we keep loving each other.

Naomi: Yes, I know the pain might last longer but I’m willing to endure anything, as long as we can be together again in this lifetime.

Alpha Maxwell: Definitely we will be together as long as we maintain communication with each other here. OK?

Naomi: Copy. We are united despite living separate lives.

Alpha Maxwell: That’s right. I love you so much, sweetie.

Naomi: I love you more.

Alpha Maxwell: Rest assured my grandma and I will take care of our precious baby Jacob on your behalf. And when the time is right, I will bring our son to a secret place where you can see him and hug him even for a few hours. I will inform you if that opportunity presents itself. OK?

Naomi: OK. I will cooperate with you. I will do anything for our son. He is my happiness.

Alpha Maxwell: Good. This chat will become our private place, allowing us to plan our lives meticulously without anyone’s intervention.

Naomi: OK. I agree with everything you have planned as long as we can be together again. That’s all that really matters to me.

The couple continued to chat for several hours uninterrupted.

Hours passed like a blur.

The whole day went by quickly.

The following day, Alpha Maxwell woke up to a bright new day. He made his way downstairs to the kitchen to make his morning coffee.

Afterward, he went to the living room and sat on the sofa, sipping his coffee. His father came down the stairs and settled beside him on the sofa.

"Son, regarding your son Jacob, when will he arrive here? Will the kidnappers bring your son here to our house and drop him outside the gate? Tell me about the process, because I’m curious how they will do it? We should catch those kidnappers, bring them to justice and punish them. What do you think of my plan?" Alpha Nelson suggested.

"Yeah, I was also thinking about the same thing, Dad. Unfortunately, they told me that there was a change of plans. They will return my son to me next week and they are still scouting for the perfect place to do it. They told me that I would receive a text message once they were ready to return my son. I’m currently waiting for their text message," Alpha Maxwell explained.

"Ah, okay. I got it. Let’s continue talking about this matter after I come home from the office in the evening. For now I have to get ready to start my day," Alpha Nelson said.

Alpha Maxwell nodded his head. "OK. See you tonight, Dad."

Alpha Nelson proceeds to the kitchen to get his coffee.

Alpha Maxwell returned to his room on the second floor and waited for Deborah to wake up so he could bond with his son, baby Zed.

The morning passed without any drama.

Deborah was happy that Alpha Maxwell spent more time in the room, bonding with their son. He avoided her touch. Every time she came closer to him, he always moved away from her.

She disliked his cold and aloof behaviour towards her. He was never like this before. So damn annoying!

She will try to be more patient with him because their wedding is fast approaching and she desperately wanted the special event to be a big success.

The whole afternoon went by.

At 5:00 in the afternoon, Alpha Maxwell and Grandma Franchia were secretly discussing their plans in her room.

"My boy, you don’t have to dress up to avoid suspicion. Your current attire is enough. You go now to the garage and wait for me there. I will be there in a few minutes," Grandma said.

"OK, I will go there now. This is the perfect time to leave because Deborah was still sleeping in the room and everyone was busy with their affairs," Alpha Maxwell agreed.

"Go now. I won’t take long," she said.

"OK." Alpha Maxwell rose to his feet and left the room. He went to the guest room, made sure his phone was fully charged and put it in the pocket of his shorts. Then he quietly made his way to the garage undetected.

After a few minutes of waiting, Grandma finally arrived at the garage and unlocked her car with the key and signaled Alpha Maxwell to get into the trunk. When everything was already in place, Grandma started the engine and drove the car out of the garage and into the gate.

The guard stopped Grandma and when he saw she was alone, he let her pass.

Grandma Franchia smiled and drove her car out of the Burke property.

A few minutes later, she entered a private parking lot, allowing Alpha Maxwell to get out of the trunk.

"Are you okay, my boy?" she asked.

Alpha Maxwell grinned and settled into the front seat. "I’m fine, Grams." He responded, happy that they successfully left the mansion without any problems.

She asked, "So where are we going, straight to the City National Park?"

"Yes, please. Do you want me to drive?" he offered.

"No. Just communicate well with the kidnappers so we can get your son safely. I’ll do the driving," she replied.

"Thanks, Grams," Alpha Maxwell said. He removed his phone from the pocket of his shorts and then entered the windowless lover chat to communicate with Zero.

Alpha Maxwell: Zero, I’m here. My grandmother and I are on the road, travelling towards City National Park. We will arrive there in a few minutes.

Zero: Great! Are you sure you are not trailed behind by your father’s men?

Alpha Maxwell: I’m 100% sure. When I left the house, no one saw me because I was hiding inside the trunk of my grandmother’s car.

Zero: Good. We’re already here in the park. You will see your son shortly.

Alpha Maxwell: Thanks, I can’t wait to see my son again.

Zero: Of course you will see him today as long as you don’t bring any nasty surprises that can derail our plans.

Alpha Maxwell: I swear, I didn’t bring anyone.

Zero: Good. I’ll chat with you later after you arrive here. Send me a message right away after your arrival.

Alpha Maxwell: OK, I got it.

Zero: Adios!

Alpha Maxwell exited the chat. He looked at her grandmother. "Grams, they’re already in the park, waiting for us," he said excitedly.

"Perfect, I can finally meet my grandson!" Grandma replied in a thrilled voice.

A few minutes later, they finally arrived at the park.
