CHAPTER 68: HIS WEAKNESS

Alpha Nelson stared at his grandson. He had a mixed reaction on his face. He couldn’t deny the strong pull baby Jacob has on him especially when the baby smiles brightly, raising his tiny hand, trying to reach his beard.

"Do you want to hold him?" Luna Adela offered.

Alpha Nelson shook his head. "Not now," he replied somberly. He meant to scold his son Maxwell for leaving the house without his permission to meet the kidnappers behind his back. But he was greeted by the angelic face of his grandson, cooing at him. The adorable little fellow was slowly erasing the scowl from his face without even trying.

Luna Adela sat on the sofa and continued bonding with her grandson, making silly faces, playing with him, tickling him. Baby Jacob continued cooing, and his contagious baby giggling echoed around the room, melting hearts.

Becca joined hands with her mother in welcoming baby Jacob into the family.

Deborah pouted up a storm, annoyed that nobody paying attention to her son anymore. They focused their attention on the new addition to the family. She was extremely worried about losing the support of the entire family because of baby Jacob. The wedding should happen at the soonest possible time so she can finally breathe in relief.

This baby will become her absolute nightmare!

Furious, Deborah yelled, "Guys, hear me out! I don’t want to see that baby in this house! He must be sent away. He has no place in this house. My son and I should never share a place with the son of a mistress. I can’t accept it! This is a big insult to me!"

Everyone looked at her with astonishment flashing in their faces.

Grandma shot her with a glare. "Dear, you have been pretty annoying lately. Dangling baby Zed outside the window gave us a heart attack. Now you are trying to stir trouble again by attacking baby Jacob? Can you please calm down? You are always angry and in a bad mood. Get a life please?"

Deborah met the old woman’s heated stare with her own, this time not backing down, not afraid to express her opinion especially that her feelings and rights were ignored. "It’s hard to calm down now that Naomi’s child has already invaded the house. If you put yourself in my shoes you will understand me. Grandma, why do you always side with the mistress? Obviously you like her better than me!" She retaliated with her nostrils flaring in anger, ready to fight any member of the family who dares to go against her wishes.

"STOP IT, DEB! You are talking nonsense again, trying to stir up trouble. You better shut your mouth! It’s not always about you. You are not the center of the universe. You always want all the attention for yourself. Stop competing for my son’s attention! If you can’t handle this scene, go back to your room and sulk there!" Alpha Maxwell snapped, silencing her down with a glare.

His insults stung Deborah’s heart. "Why must you keep insulting me? I am your future wife. Where is your respect for me as the mother of your child?" She protested, tears running down her cheeks.

Luna Adela looked at her future daughter-in-law with annoyance in her eyes. "Dear, please calm down. Try to understand that we have just met baby Jacob, and we are trying to give him a warm welcome into this house. He will always be part of our family no matter the history of his parents. The baby is innocent, so please don’t make a big deal of it. OK?"

Grandma interjected. "Deborah, I already told you that the baby wouldn’t get in your way. We will stay in the bungalow house so you don’t have to see him on a daily basis to avoid ruining your day. Yet you are not satisfied with the arrangement because if you do, you won’t be complaining right now. What more do you want? Grow up, stop being childish!" she scolded her.

Deborah was speechless. This is the first time the majority of Burke family members have started ganging up on her. Is the tide changing? Are they now looking at her like she was a parasites? She was about to open her mouth and give them scathing remarks...

But Alpha Nelson snapped. "Enough with these pointless arguments. Everyone stop talking and hurling insults at each other!" His irate voice thundered around the living room.

Deborah knew she couldn’t afford to make an enemy out of the head of the house, her last supporter or she might not be able to marry Alpha Maxwell. She was super mad that they were giving baby Jacob a warm welcome not caring what she truly felt inside. She could no longer bear it. She rose to her feet and unceremoniously dumped baby Zed into Alpha Maxwell’s arms. "Your son also needs your care and attention! Be a father to him and don’t play favoritism!" she snarled.

Fighting back tears, Deborah walked away heading for the staircase, eager to leave the painful scene behind.

While on the stairs, she could hear her son’s loud crying, probably startled by what she had done. But she did it on purpose. Alpha Maxwell would get busy for a while pacifying their son which is the right thing to do since he was the father!

Her son needs his attention too!

Smiling, she reached the top of the staircase and proceeded to her room. From now on, she will be busy plotting how to get rid of that baby devil who just arrived to make her life a living hell.

Naomi’s son will pay dearly for causing her pain!

Back in the living room.

Alpha Maxwell was now dealing with two wailing babies because when baby Zed started crying, his younger brother baby Jacob also followed suit. The living rooms were filled with their ear-piercing cries.

Grandma gently put the baby formula into baby Jacob’s mouth to stop him from crying.

As for baby Zed, Alpha Maxwell sang him a lullaby but he didn’t stop crying.

Grandma sighed. "My boy, you have to bring baby Zed to his mother. I think he is hungry and needs feeding. Go now," she urged him.

Alpha Maxwell nodded his head. "How about my other son, baby Jacob?" he asked.

"Don’t worry, there are three of us here taking care of him. Go now," Grandma Franchia said.

"OK." Alpha Maxwell left the living room and climbed the stairs, heading to his room on the second floor.

When he arrived there, Deborah quickly entered the bathroom. "I’m going to take a dump. Do your best to pacify our son. As his father you should know how to take care of him!"

Alpha Maxwell groaned in dismay. He saw ready-to-drink baby formula on the table and grabbed it. He put it in his son’s mouth and he immediately stopped crying. "Finally," he murmured in relief.

He gently placed baby Jacob on the bed and using one free hand surrounded him with pillows, waiting for Deborah to finish what she was doing in the bathroom so he could finally leave the room and return to the living room to be with his other son.

Minutes went by.

Alpha Maxwell noticed that Deborah was taking too long in the bathroom. He heard the sound of splashing water. She must be taking a shower. She did it on purpose, keeping him longer in the room to annoy him. He looks at his son, trying to control his rising temper.

After baby Zed finished drinking his milk, he kissed his cheeks, picked him up gently and placed his little head on his shoulder, rubbing his back gently so he could burp.

A few minutes later, baby Zed finally burps.

He continued holding him in his arms, glancing at the window to look outside, waiting for Deborah to finish her business in the bathroom.

Baby Zed fell asleep in his arms so he lowered him gently into the bed, and stayed by his side, waiting for Deborah to leave the bathroom.

After a long time of waiting, the bathroom door finally opened and Deborah emerged, only wearing a towel wrapped around her body.

She glanced at her son sleeping peacefully on the bed and smiled. "Thanks for putting our son to sleep," she said softly.

Alpha Maxwell raised a brow. He saw a glimmer in her eyes. He got a feeling she was planning something...

She walked slowly towards him, swaying her hips provocatively, her eyes full of seduction. "Now that our son is asleep we can have some time for ourselves. It’s been a long time. We haven’t kissed or touched each other’s bodies. Didn’t you miss our hot orgasmic lovemaking, hubby? Didn’t you miss riding me? Didn’t you miss hearing my voice moaning your name?" she asked sensually and dropped the towel on the floor, giving him a full view of her nakedness for his eyes to see.

He averted his gaze, ignoring her nakedness. He groaned. "So this was your plan all along? Set a honey trap for me?"

Deborah smiles, her hands busy caressing his chest. "I’m horny, hubby. Let’s have a quickie before our son wakes up," she suggested in a sultry tone. She pressed her body against his masculine hardness. She lowered her hand, heading towards his manhood.
