Carlotta's Daily Report
Chapter 114: All Out
CHAPTER 114: ALL OUT
Matteo and Vilan snapped out of their daze and rushed towards the alchemical ship, their eyes burning with desire.
At this moment, all three of them became extremely greedy, their breathing heavy.
An alchemical ship itself holds immense value, with endless uses. And the spatial item capable of holding such a large alchemical ship would be even more valuable. Who could resist such a treasure?
They never expected Carlotta and the others to have such a huge treasure. Since they had seen it, there was no way they wouldn’t seize it.
Two Listeners and a large number of corpses closed in on the Moonlight for a short time.
At this moment, Carlotta didn’t hold back, controlling the Moonlight to activate the energy cannon. A brilliant beam of light burst forth, carrying destructive power and violently striking the shore.
"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!"
The riverbank exploded on the spot, soil flying everywhere, dust billowing, and the corpses near the shore were instantly shredded.
Matteo and Vilan weren’t as rigid as the corpses. They dodged when they saw the Moonlight about to attack, so they were unharmed.
After this barrage, Carlotta and the others successfully boarded the Moonlight.
The Moonlight sailed into the river, moving away from the shore, causing Victor and the others to grow anxious.
It was like having an incredibly rich treasure right in front of them, but they couldn’t take it, which was unacceptable.
"Attack! We must not let them escape," Victor ordered.
Matteo and Vilan were at a loss. They had no means to deal with the Moonlight in the center of the river.
Victor, however, could still manage.
He had his corpses quickly dive into the river, swimming towards the Moonlight. Additionally, he controlled some flying monster corpses, focusing on attacking the Moonlight from the air.
That wasn’t enough. He reached into the river and quickly released poison. Necromancy also had some poison-related spells, though not many, their effects were not bad, enough to kill some monsters in the river.
Victor could sense the creatures killed by his poison. With a thought, these river monsters became corpses under his control, then moved towards the Moonlight from the river, launching an attack.
As a peak tier Listener, Victor’s strength was not to be underestimated. Even with the opponent in the river, he could still display a sufficiently astonishing attack power.
Carlotta and Amelia stood on the deck, observing Victor’s attack methods.
"It’s good they didn’t get scared away. If they had, it would have been a bit troublesome," Carlotta smiled with satisfaction.
"Don’t be careless. This guy has some skills," Amelia reminded.
Victor’s strength was indeed not low, or rather, the corpses he controlled were quite something.
Currently, three corpses were the most troublesome, all capable of flying in the air.
One was a Thunderwing Bird, a monster capable of releasing lightning. It flew in the air, and bolts of lightning roared down, striking the Moonlight’s protective shield with dazzling light.
Another was a Diamond Eagle, its claws extremely hard, making it excellent material. With its fast flight speed, it had an unpredictable attack ability. A single claw strike made the Moonlight sway.
The last was a Moonstep Wolf, without wings, but capable of flying by controlling the wind. It rode the howling gales, attacking fiercely, making it difficult for the Moonlight to move away.
If Victor’s other corpses, enhanced by his magic, could match the strength of an early tier Listener, then these three corpses would be even stronger, no weaker than middle tier Listeners. Combined, their offensive power was astonishing.
Along with the cooperation of other undead and even Victor’s own attacks, the destructive power they could unleash was nothing to scoff at.
Under the relentless assault, the protective shield of the Moonlight was constantly being shaken. As the controllers of this alchemical ship, Carlotta and Amelia could feel the rapid depletion of the Moonlight’s stored mana.
This forced the Moonlight to sail swiftly on the river, evading some attacks while continuously releasing its photon cannons and deep-sea torpedoes, bombarding the surrounding undead creatures. The deafening sounds of explosions echoed along the river, with large splashes of water erupting everywhere.
Amidst this, Victor’s own attacks could not be ignored.
With a raise of his hand, he could condense a long, pale bone spear, which would whistle through the air and shoot out like a bolt of lightning, swift and terrifying.
This bone spear struck the Moonlight’s protective shield, causing it to tremble violently. The entire ship was sent skidding across the river by the force of the impact.
"Do you think having an alchemical ship can change the situation or allow you to escape? I am alone enough to handle this."
Victor told Matteo and Vilan to wait on the shore, as he could see they had no capability to deal with the situation.
As for himself, he leaped onto the back of the Thunderwing Bird, letting it carry him closer to the Moonlight. From a high vantage point, he launched his attacks, with his bone spears and the Thunderwing Bird’s lightning strikes focusing on the same spot, causing multiple times the damage.
With Victor going all out, the situation immediately turned dire for Carlotta and the others.
The Moonlight swayed precariously, giving the impression that it could be sunk at any moment.
Mia clutched the ship’s railing tightly, her legs trembling uncontrollably, completely at a loss for what to do next.
She looked at Carlotta and Amelia, only to find them both calm and composed.
At this point, what else could they possibly do?
Carlotta and Amelia exchanged a glance.
As an alchemical ship, the Moonlight naturally had more than just photon cannons and deep-sea torpedoes. There was another, more powerful attack method, albeit one that consumed a significant amount of mana.
"It must hit with one strike."
Amelia said in a low voice.
Carlotta knew that Amelia was thinking the same thing as her, both wanted to activate the Moonlight’s ultimate attack. However, if this attack missed, it would be a huge waste of mana.
"Often, luring the enemy in is also a strategy."
Carlotta already had an idea.
Victor was still being cautious, maintaining a certain distance. They needed to make him come closer, and only by making Victor feel that victory was within his grasp would he approach.
Thinking this, Carlotta hesitated and said, "But aren’t our expressions too calm? If we looked as frightened as Mia, it might be easier to lure him down."
Mia was speechless as she listened to their conversation.
She realized that they still had some tricks up their sleeves, which was a good thing, but did she really look that scared?
Amelia glanced at Mia and said after thought, "I’m not very good at acting; it’s a bit difficult."
"Neither am I. Let’s just go into the cabin so he can’t see us. Mia, you stay here and keep pretending to be terrified."
Carlotta said, then took Amelia’s hand and headed back to the cabin.
Mia was at a loss for words. Did she even need to pretend? She was genuinely terrified.
"Boom!"
A lightning bolt mixed with a bone spear struck the protective shield, causing it to tremble violently, even showing large cracks.
The point of impact was not far from Mia, and the sudden attack startled her so much that she fell to the ground, scrambling to crawl to another spot on the deck that felt safer.
Victor stood on the Thunderwing Bird, looking down at the Moonlight with a cold smile.
"You can’t escape."
Seeing Carlotta and Amelia enter the cabin, he assumed they were looking for another way to escape, which was not unusual.
Many large ships had smaller boats inside, so if the main ship encountered any problems, people could escape using the smaller boats. He was familiar with this tactic.
At that moment, he controlled the creatures at the bottom of the river, surrounding but not killing them, preventing anyone from escaping underwater.
The attacks from the other creatures on the river surface were enough.
"Soon, soon."
Victor murmured softly, controlling the Thunderwing Bird to dodge the photon cannon attacks while launching increasingly fierce assaults. The Moonlight’s protective shield was cracking more and more.
When the cracks on the shield reached a certain density, it finally shattered with a loud crash, leaving the ship completely exposed.
"Kill!"
Victor was exhilarated and immediately controlled the Diamond Eagle and the Moonstep Wolf to attack first.
This scene scared Mia out of her wits. She screamed and scrambled into the cabin, not daring to stay on the deck any longer.
"How pathetic."
Victor laughed heartily. He could see that Mia was genuinely terrified, completely frightened out of her wits. He then controlled the Thunderwing Bird to dive down.
At this moment, he was filled with excitement, as he was about to obtain an incredibly valuable alchemical ship and an even more valuable spatial artifact.
"These treasures are wasted in the hands of mere apprentices. They should belong to me."
Victor muttered to himself.
The fact that apprentices could possess such valuable items indicated that they must have extraordinary backgrounds. But so what? Even if they were princes or princesses, on Sky Island, he could kill them without hesitation. Who would know it was him?
Besides, for the sake of gaining substantial benefits, taking a little risk was completely justified, wasn’t it?
As he landed on the deck, he noticed the situation with the Diamond Eagle and the Moonstep Wolf. These two undead creatures had found Amelia and Carlotta.
The Diamond Eagle was fiercely attacking Amelia, but Amelia’s skills were astonishing, and she managed to hold it off for the time being.
As for Carlotta, she was fleeing in panic under the Moonstep Wolf’s relentless assault.
"An eighth-tier apprentice can handle an early-stage Listener and even briefly contend with a mid-stage Listener. A ninth-tier apprentice can rival a mid-stage Listener... Who are these people? Never mind, it doesn’t matter who you are."
Victor couldn’t help but think that the two must have impressive backgrounds, but with the potential gains at stake, he was willing to take the risk and secure what he could.
Just as he was thinking this, the Moonlight suddenly emitted a bright blue glow, and an intense surge of mana began to flow wildly throughout the ship.
