Carlotta's Daily Report
Chapter 239: Leader Carlotta White
CHAPTER 239: LEADER CARLOTTA WHITE
The Thunderfire War God’s words make Carlotta’s expression even more complicated.
She truly hadn’t expected that this fellow was so extraordinary, not merely second in a single world, but still worthy of being called second across all worlds combined.
Seeing Carlotta’s slightly astonished look, the Thunderfire War God felt somewhat proud, but then reminded how such a powerful version of himself had just been defeated by Carlotta, he couldn’t help but lose his smile.
"How much weaker are you as an Impression Entity compared to your original self?"
Carlotta asked.
The Thunderfire War God answered, "I know what you’re thinking. My original self was a peak tier Weaver, at least when I became this Impression Entity. Due to the wear of time, I’ve dropped down to middle tier Weaver status. But in terms of combat power within the same tier, I’m not much weaker than my original self."
Carlotta understood.
"As for you, I suppose only Gaoh could stand as your opponent."
The Thunderfire War God added.
"Huh? You said just now that you could defeat Gaoh yourself. I’ve already beaten you, so what chance would Gaoh have against me?"
Carlotta stated matter-of-factly.
"Uh..."
The Thunderfire War God hesitated, not wanting to admit he’d been bluffing, truthfully, he stood no chance against Gaoh at all.
Under Carlotta’s interrogation, the War God then proceeded to tell her everything he knew, not daring to hold even a shred of information, because Carlotta really could kill him.
After he’d mostly finished speaking, at Carlotta’s request, the War God dispelled the faith-based space, returning both of them to their original positions.
Inside the temple, Carlotta returned to where she’d stood, while the Thunderfire War God returned to the main throne.
He followed the Path of Faith, worshiped by his followers as the Thunderfire War God. But before Carlotta, he no longer dared to call himself a god. Earlier, he’d already revealed his name: Brady Thomason.
"Carlotta!"
No sooner had Carlotta returned than she heard a familiar voice.
Her gaze swept around, and seeing that Amelia was unharmed, she relaxed. Of course, the others were fine as well.
"What did you see just now?"
Carlotta asked.
"We saw you suddenly disappear, and the statue in front disappeared at the same time."
Amelia pointed toward the main statue on the throne.
She had realized at the time that Carlotta and the statue must have entered some special space and clashed within it.
Amelia had full faith in Carlotta’s combat strength. Although she felt a bit worried, her mood wasn’t overly heavy.
Sure enough, Carlotta had returned completely unharmed, while the statue on the main throne ahead was now covered in cracks, extremely pitiful.
"Where did you go?"
Selina couldn’t help but ask.
Lea also looked over curiously.
When Carlotta had suddenly disappeared earlier, she’d been disenchanted. If even Carlotta had met with misfortune, she wouldn’t have known what to do, perhaps she’d die here too.
"Of course, I went to fight my opponent."
Carlotta said, walking toward the statue in front.
Through her interactions in that special space, Carlotta had gained sufficient understanding of the language of World Eight, enough to speak some simple phrases.
This was thanks to two reasons.
One was her extremely high aptitude, but the more important factor was that languages across different worlds in this foreign realm actually shared certain similarities, making them easier to learn.
This wasn’t too surprising, those worlds interconnected, with considerable frequency occurring over long periods. Under such prolonged evolution, it was perfectly reasonable for their languages to develop common elements.
This allowed Carlotta to grasp it even better.
"Are you confined to staying here now?"
Carlotta asked, looking at the statue on the main throne.
The statue trembled slightly, giving its reply, "The transformation into a statue is to ensure my power doesn’t dissolve. This was arranged by the god. Regardless, it’s not the time, I won’t leave the statue."
"What time counts as the necessary time?"
Carlotta asked.
This question caused Brady, the Thunderfire War God, to fall silent for a moment.
Just as Carlotta was about to urge him, he finally spoke, "I don’t know. Normally, my awakening itself should signify the correct time. I’ve indeed awakened now, yet I sense no enemies at all... unless you are the enemy."
Carlotta said simply, "Have you been asleep so long that you’ve gone mad? Who told you you had to fight immediately upon awakening? That time is merely meant to be a transitional period. You yourself said earlier that your Impression Entities still need to elect a leader, and the method is up to you. Without spare time, how can you elect a leader?"
Brady said, "That’s reasonable... Actually, although I said that, once everyone understood the situation, they’d generally default to Gaoh as leader, unless there’s the impression of an Exalted. But if I remember correctly, the god said that under normal circumstances, no Exalted impression can be born."
"What about under abnormal circumstances?"
Carlotta asked.
Brady was stumped. After a pause, he said, "I don’t know what would count as abnormal circumstances. Most likely, there won’t be an Exalted impression."
Carlotta understood, then told Brady to come out.
Now that numerous Impression Entities had awakened without warning, the time arranged by the gods had clearly arrived. There was no longer any need for Brady to remain inside the statue.
Brady thought for a moment, then began to vibrate. Soon, the statue cracked open, and the tall youth Carlotta had just seen emerging.
"Come out, all of you."
After Brady appeared, he called out.
The next moment, the statues on the high platforms to both sides began trembling. Then the statues cracked and split open, transforming into six men and women.
Brady told Carlotta, "These six are all directly under my command."
Carlotta nodded. "Then bring them along. By the way, this temple isn’t composed of only your hall. The other halls also have statues, right? Are they beings like you?"
Brady nodded. "Correct. Although they’re not as strong as I am, they still have the qualifications to receive guidance from God and know certain special matters."
"Is Gaoh also in one of these temples?"
Carlotta asked the world’s number one.
"I don’t know."
Brady shook his head with a complicated expression.
"Why don’t you know?"
Carlotta was puzzled.
Since he was the world’s number one, he should naturally receive the god’s favor. If not here, then where else could he be?
"I became an Impression Entity before him. I don’t know his choice... Well, he should be here, I suppose."
Brady said, very uncertainly.
Brady didn’t know whether that proud Number One in the world would truly choose to leave behind an Impression Body, because that Number One was arrogant and might not obey the god’s decision.
"In any case, let’s go outside and take a look first."
Carlotta said.
Brady had no objection.
Immediately, the group walked out of the statue.
Within the temple grounds, in one building after another, those statues were trembling slightly, indicating that many Impression Bodies were awakening and becoming aware of the situation outside.
"Everyone, you can all come out now."
Brady swept his gaze across the numerous buildings and said.
The face of the world’s second strongest undoubtedly still carried great weight.
As soon as he spoke, statues in some buildings cracked open, and then one living person after another stepped out.
These people were men and women, some appeared young, others noticeably older. As they walked out together, an overwhelming aura naturally radiated from them, causing Selina and Lea’s expressions to continuously change, their hearts filled with unease.
"All of them are Weavers..."
Selina silently swallowed a mouthful of saliva.
She was perfectly aware of how powerful these "native" Weavers were. Put her alongside this group, and it would be extremely difficult for her not to be at the bottom, the gap between them was simply too vast.
And now, such terrifying Weavers appear in large numbers before her eyes. Just looking at them evokes a sense of dread. Even though Carlotta was still beside her, Selina still couldn’t hide her inner fear.
As for Lea, she didn’t even dare to lift her head.
The gathering of these ancient powerhouses created an aura so intense it nearly crushed a person, the pressure felt exceptionally enormous.
"Brady, who are these people?"
Someone spoke up, noting that Carlotta’s group differed from them in type.
"They’re people from this era."
Brady replied.
"What do you mean?"
The one asking frowned.
It was a woman, tall, with a shapely figure, her every glance exuding an indescribable charm.
Brady answered expressionlessly: "You should know that we’ve been asleep all along, and no one knows exactly how many ages we’ve slumbered. These people are from later generations."
Hearing Brady’s explanation, the gazes of the numerous Impression Bodies fell upon Carlotta and the others, filled with curiosity and scrutiny.
"Is Gaoh here?"
Brady asked again.
At the mention of that name, the expressions of the Impression Bodies present shifted, clearly indicating their concern for this Number One in the world, no one could afford to ignore such a powerful existence.
Instinctively, everyone briefly left and right, searching for a familiar figure, but found no trace of him.
"Not here? Did he really refuse the god?"
Brady murmured quietly.
"It’s not necessarily a refusal."
At that moment, an elder stepped forward and said, "When I first awakened, I found the neighboring hall already empty, as if someone had left long ago. I specifically went to check and sensed a faint familiar presence. Perhaps that was Gaoh."
The elder’s status was also extraordinary. As he stepped forward and said this, many people’s expressions changed.
Immediately, many decided to go check the place the elder had mentioned, and Carlotta followed as well.
It was a decaying hall, appearing even more dilapidated than the others.
Inside, the statue had long since disappeared, leaving only fragments scattered on the ground.
The group detected nothing here.
Brady asked the elder, "Why didn’t I sense the presence you mentioned? Could the one who left really be Gaoh?"
The elder replied calmly, "The presence has already faded. When I first awoke, I could still feel it."
He explained that he had awakened some time ago, but had stayed within his statue without going out.
After this period of time, some fading traces were completely understood.
The elder’s identity was far from simple, he was actually the world’s fifth strongest. His words carry great weight.
With him saying so, the others had little to argue.
"Some people’s words may not be truthful, perhaps they just want to stir up confusion."
Brady said coldly.
"What do you mean by that?"
The elder immediately turned to glare at Brady.
His name was Lames Peyton. As the world’s fifth strongest, although ranked below Brady, he had never truly considered himself inferior.
Especially since, within his own World Five, he could be called Number One, and never needed to flatter others.
"I meant exactly what I said."
Brady didn’t need to give Lames face either.
"Hmph, do you want a fight?"
"Perfectly acceptable. I have no objection."
The moment the two spoke, a heavy scent of gunpowder filled the air, causing the other Impression Bodies emerging from statues to exchange various looks.
Anyone who had reached the status of being turned into a statue here had an extraordinary identity and background. Some couldn’t help but feel excited at the prospect of competition, showing considerable interest in such matters.
"Perhaps certain things should happen earlier. Gaoh isn’t here, so he’s lost his qualification to compete."
The tall woman who had spoken earlier spoke up again.
She was the world’s third strongest, named Sheena Ortes, from World Three, the Number One of that world.
At this moment, she was direct, clearly stating her intention, aiming to participate in the crucial competition and thereby becoming the leader of all Impression Bodies.
As she finished speaking, she looked directly at Brady.
In terms of ranking, only Brady, the world’s second strongest, stood above her, making him her natural rival.
Seeing Sheena’s gaze upon him, Brady said calmly: "No need to look at me. I won’t compete for this leadership position."
"You’re afraid of me?"
Sheena couldn’t help but smile.
Her emerald-green eyes were exceptionally bright, carrying a light smile. She was satisfied with Brady’s withdrawal, this meant a major rival was gone.
Brady shook his head, "Sheena, you’re overestimating yourself. If it were just you, you wouldn’t be enough to make me step back."
"Then who made you step back? Gaoh? But Gaoh hasn’t even appeared, and you’re already afraid?"
Sheena asked.
"It’s not Gaoh either."
Brady shook his head again.
"Then who?"
Sheena frowned, feeling confused.
The other Impression Bodies were equally puzzled. If it wasn’t the world’s Number One, Gaoh, nor the world’s third, Sheena, then who could possibly make Brady choose to withdraw?
Who else possessed such power?
Under the gaze of many bewildered eyes, Brady turned to Carlotta beside him and said seriously, "I am willing to recognize this Miss Carlotta White as our leader of the Impression Bodies."
