CHAPTER 289: PROMOTION

When the board members learned about the death of their CEO, Darren Clifford, they were shocked. The police approached and interrogated all of them. The police, after recovering the CCTV footage, showed them everything that transpired in the parking lot.

But most of them didn’t give a damn about Darren getting killed. For Darren was just a puppet they could push around for their own benefit.

He might have been the CEO, but it was them who ran this company. What they were more concerned about was what they saw before the murder took place.

Darren is getting physical with a woman. A very clear video of their company’s CEO trying to sexually assault a woman. Even though the sexual assault didn’t take place as Darren got the shit slapped out of him, it is still a massive problem.

If this woman files a lawsuit against the company for sexual harassment, they would be fucked. And they can’t even get rid of the evidence, as it is already in police custody and is now related to a high-profile murder case.

After learning of this fact, the board member quickly ran an investigation on Darren and found a shit ton of evidence of him trying to harass this woman named Megan.

And it turned out even worse when they discovered that Megan had downloaded all the evidence related to her harassment after the IT department dug through her office computer.

This caused a panic amongst the board members. They didn’t know what to do.

They knew they couldn’t silence this woman through threats and pressure, as they already saw how that went with Darren. So they decided to buy her silence by bribing her.

After looking into her profile, they saw that Megan is an exceptional employee of this company, someone who can handle pretty much anything. Her numbers were constantly over-performing, showing her brilliance.

This made one of the board members think about giving the position of CEO, which is now vacant, to Megan. This could solve both their problems.

It could buy Megan’s silence while also filling up their vacant CEO position with a competent worker.

And now here we are. The board members are patiently waiting for Megan’s reply.

Megan looks at the board members, and a smile appears on her face. She didn’t expect that the death of that fat bastard would bring her such good luck.

"Fine, I will do it," Megan says.

Hearing her answer, the board members burst into smiles.

"But there is a condition," the old man says.

"What is it?" Megan asks.

"You can sue the company for the harassment you suffered from Darren Clifford," the old man says.

Megan realizes why this position was suddenly offered to her. The members of the board didn’t want any stain on their company’s reputation.

"Fine," Megan agrees. She really didn’t have any plans to sue the company, anyway. She only collected that evidence to fight back against Darren’s harassment. But now that he is dead, she has no use for them.

But it looks like they still manage to come in handy.

The board members were delighted to hear Megan agree to their condition.

"We knew you were the right person for this job, Megan. You are insightful enough to see the big picture. I am certain that with your leadership, this company will reach greater heights than before," the old man says.

Megan nods and smiles. The other board members chime in and congratulate Megan on her new position.

Now that she is the CEO of this company, her salary is, of course, gone through the roof, but Megan really doesn’t care about it, as her darling is literally one of the most powerful men in the world. What use is extra money to her, anyway?

But it still helps. She could use the extra money to treat Rea with some nice presents.

Megan bids the board members farewell as it’s time to go back home to her daughter, and maybe, if Amon is there, spend time with him.

Shera joins Megan as they walk out of the meeting room and head back to her office.

"Congratulations! I can’t believe you got promoted to CEO. Should I call you boss from now on?" Shera asks teasingly.

"Hmm, I like the sound of that," Megan says, smirking.

"As you wish, boss~ hehe. But still, can’t believe that Mr. Clifford is dead," Shera says. As the office slut, she had also fucked Clifford to get a few promotions back in the day when he could still get hard.

But after his dick stopped working, Shera’s quick promotions also came to a halt. So she feels a little sad for the old man who helped her at the beginning of her career.

"Fuck at old fucker. I hope he burns in hell. He dared to touch me. He deserves everything that happened to him," Megan says. Her words, full of venom.

Shera sighed and decided to talk to Megan tomorrow.

’Next time for sure,’ Shera thinks and walks up to her own car and returns home.

Amon saw everything that happened with Megan, and he is happy to see her get a promotion. Of course, he had some influence in this decision as he made the board members a little more agreeable to the idea of Megan taking over as the CEO of the company.

And now that she is the CEO, Amon plans to make her the most powerful woman in that company. He is not going to let some old men push Megan around for their own benefit.

So, with a snap of his finger, Amon acquires the majority of Megan’s company shares. A gift for Megan for becoming the CEO of her company.

He also heard Shera’s thoughts and smirked at her desperation. He wouldn’t mind fucking Shera once more as she is really good at sex, but he could mess with her a little more before rewarding her with what she desires.

Now that Megan’s situation is taken care of, Amon’s focus comes back to the matter at hand.

He sees that Susan has made her choice, and she is making her way to his room to tell him her choice.

Amon already knows what choice she made, but hearing it from her mouth is far more pleasing to the ears.

A few minutes later, the doorbell rings.

Amon gets up and walks up to the door. He stands before the door and peers through it, and watches Susan stand on the other side of the door, fidgeting nervously.

He lets her stand there for a minute, building up her nervousness, before he finally opens the door.

Seeing Amon open the door, Susan sighs in relief. She was really nervous coming here as she was about to make the most important decision of her life

She looks up at Amon while her heart is trying to beat out of her chest from how nervous she is.

"Have you made your decision?" Amon asks.

"Yes, I have," Susan says.

"Good, then come in," Amon invites her in, and once she is in, he locks the door behind him.

He guides her to the living room and sits down on the couch as Susan stands before him with her hands before her legs.

She is still wearing the bikini that she wore on the beach. She spent all this time thinking about her decision on the beach, and came here directly once she was certain.

"Go on then, tell me, what have you decided?" Amon asks as he sits relaxed on the couch, and an amused smile on his face.
