CHAPTER 291: WHY ARE YOU HERE?

A few hours fly by in an instant as Susan is put through the most intense but pleasurable sexual experience of her life.

"Send me those two reception girls. Beverly and Haley should be their names," Amon says.

The managers hear Amon’s request and immediately agree to it.

He has a very good idea as to what Amon wants from those two girls, and he doesn’t care. In this world, the one with the money is the one in control.

He doesn’t care what Amon does to those two girls, he only cares about pleasing his rich customer so that his business will be favored more in the future.

"I will send you to them right away, sir," the manager says.

"Good, also send something to eat along with them," Amon says.

"As you wish, sir," The manager answers.

Amon then ends the call.

At the reception, both Beverly and Haley are in a good mood. Beverly is happy because she feels her efforts will be rewarded soon, and Haley is happy because she has successfully managed to steal Beverly’s reward.

Once she gets the chance, she will contact this person and go on to become rich and famous.

They continue to mind their own business while keeping their distance from each other. Even though they are in a good mood, they won’t want to ruin it by interacting with each other.

"You two, Beverly, Haley," Their attention is suddenly called for. They turn their head and see the resort manager standing before them with a very nice platter of food on a trolley.

"Come here," he calls them.

Beverly and Haley look at each other, confused, but do as they are told. They leave their position and approach the manager.

"You both have been summoned by Mr. Khufu. Take this trolley with you," The manager says.

Hearing his words, both Beverly and Haley are surprised. Beverly wonders why Haley is being called, and Haley, too, wonders the same.

She thought that Amon chose Beverly over her, so why is she being called? Beverly is also thinking the same.

But since Amon has called for them, they don’t dare ignore it. Beverly grabs the trolley and starts making her way to Amon’s room.

Not wanting to be left behind, Haley joins her as well.

They enter the elevator and stand in silence side by side.

Beverly finally decides to speak, as this doesn’t feel right. "What did you do?" Beverly asks.

"What do you mean?" Haley asks.

"You must have done something. Why would Mr. Amon even ask for you when you haven’t even talked to him?" Beverly asks.

"Maybe he just likes the way I look," Haley says, smirking.

"Please, don’t think too highly of yourself. Why do I feel like you did something?" Beverly says.

Haley doesn’t answer, but she did start feeling nervous as she did do something.

’Did he figure out that I stole the card from Beverly? But how could he know?’ Haley thinks.

Beverly continues to give Haley the side eye, but Haley has a great poker face, and she couldn’t get anything from her.

The elevator soon stops at the floor belonging to Amon. The girls get out and soon arrive before Amon’s room.

"Ring the doorbell," Beverly says as she is holding onto the trolley. Haley rolls her eyes, but does as she is asked.

She rings the doorbell and waits.

After a few seconds, the door opens, and Amon steps out. He is just wearing shorts so the rest of his body is out in display to be admired.

Beverly has already seen him naked, but she is still mesmerized by it. As for Haley, she is in awe seeing Amon in all his glory.

Not only is Amon extremely handsome, but his body is literally that of a god.

She can’t believe Beverly got lucky enough to spend time with such a handsome man. But it’s not just his appearance, he is also filthy rich and has incredible influence to make a no-name girl like Beverly into a star.

Amon looks at the two girls before him with a serious look on his face, making the girls nervous.

"Get in," he orders.

Beverly is the first one to walk in, pushing the trolley along. Then enters Haley, her steps a little hesitant, seeing the serious look on Amon’s face.

Her guilty conscience is screaming at her. The thought of getting caught is frightening, especially in front of someone like Amon.

Once the girls are in, Amon locks the door behind him and walks to the living room.

He sits down on his couch and looks at the two girls before him.

Both stand nervously.

Beverly is nervous because Amon’s facial expression is very cold right now. He usually doesn’t have such cold eyes. As for Haley, she is having a mental breakdown.

She regretted taking that card, even though she doesn’t know if Amon called her here for that issue.

"What’s for dinner?" Amon asks.

Beverly lifts up the cloche and looks at the food prepared for Amon. She then begins listing them one after the other as Amon listens silently.

Haley just stands there, nervous as she notices that Amon is looking directly at her.

Her eyes meet his, which immediately causes her panic, so she instantly looks down to avoid eye contact.

Beverly finishes listing off everything that is on the plates and waits for Amon’s next order.

"Bring it here," Amon says.

Beverly nods and pushes the trolley closer to Amon. Amon looks down at the food, picks up a fork, and takes a bite of the tender, delicious meat that has been sent for him.

Amon chews the meat as he looks at Haley.

Beverly notices that Amon’s attention has been on Haley since the moment they stepped their foot in. This makes Beverly nervous, thinking that Amon might change his preference and choose Haley.

If he does this, everything that she went through would be useless.

Even though she enjoyed last night a lot, her goal is still to become a famous person.

Amon takes all his time eating and lets the girls have a mental breakdown, thinking over every possible reason Amon could be angry at them.

While Beverly is utterly confused. Haley thinks it is because she stole the card, but she still doesn’t understand how Amon figured it out.

After five minutes, Amon is done eating his dinner while the girls stood there the whole time.

He wipes his mouth and looks at the girls once again.

"Do you know why I called you both here?" Amon asks. To which the girls shake their heads.

"Beverly, why do you think you are here?" Amon looks at Beverly and asks her.

"I don’t know, sir," Beverly says meekly.

"I see, fair enough," Amon says and turns his head to look at Haley.

"Haley, why do you think I called you here?" He asks.

Haley opens her mouth to deny him, trying to utter the same words Beverly did, but when she makes eye contact with Amon, she freezes.

The words are on the tip of her tongue, but she can’t say them. She is afraid, and she should be.

This man is clearly someone rich, powerful, and influential, while she is just a normal girl with nothing going on for her.

She could only curse herself. How did she even think that she could steal from such a man and not face any consequences for it?

Beverly sees the hesitation on Haley’s face and realizes that her suspicion was right. Haley did something, and that is why she is here.

"Come on, speak up. Tell me why you are here?" Amon asks again.

"Umm... I am sorry..." Haley immediately apologizes.

"Why are you apologizing? Did you do anything wrong?" Amon asks.

Haley feels the weight of the world on her shoulders under Amon’s intense gaze.

She knows she fucked up but she doesn’t know how to get out of this situation.
