Carrying a Jurassic on me

CHAPTER 1930: CHAPTER 910: CONFIRMING THE BASIC GOAL (PART 3)
"So sorry to trouble you today. Tomorrow we can find a car and come by ourselves if we want to see more, no need to hold you up for too long," Yan Fei apologized.
"Listen to you, it’s nothing," Wei Dabao laughed heartily.
They checked out a few more ranches, but luck was clearly not on Yan Fei’s side. The well-managed ranches had no intention of selling. As for the price, Yan Fei didn’t want to be too much of a dupe, insisting on offering a significantly higher price to buy a ranch.
Anyway, there were still so many ranches; they hadn’t covered many even after running around for a day.
Heading back, it was a bit late, and Chen Yingjun looked around with a sigh: "Is there no speed checking on the roads here? We’ve been driving for ages without seeing a soul. Can we just drive freely?"
"Definitely not," Wei Dabao shook his head. "When you plan to drive, make sure to study the traffic rules here first. The traffic officers here are tricky; they use private cars to catch speeders. If caught, the fines are heavy, so be cautious. The fewer cars, the more careful you should be; the one car you do bump into might be the traffic officers’."
"I heard it’s different from back home. There, you can speed a bit, but here, not even a bit. I haven’t been back in a while; it’s what some fellow countrymen told me."
"That’s ridiculous!" Chen Yingjun was displeased upon hearing this. "There’s hardly anyone on the roads here, what’s the use of a speed limit? It’s better back home; at least there’s some leeway."
There really wasn’t anyone; once out of the city, people were rarer than endangered animals. Even though it was just a bit late, they’d seen barely a few cars all day.
On highways in China, the speed limit is generally 120, but in reality many drivers don’t adhere strictly to the 120 km/h limit, driving at 130 is more like it. As long as you’re careful, don’t get flashed too much, it’s usually fine — basically, if you maintain speeding the entire route, at the toll station you’d be directed to pull over, and after half a day someone comes to warn you before letting you go, you can’t blame anyone.
Yan Fei looked at Chen Yingjun, annoyed, and warned him: "If you want to drive, learn the traffic rules here first, don’t rush, haven’t you heard about the..."
"Look, a kangaroo!" A figure like a giant rabbit standing upright, with a long tail, flashed in the headlights in front of the car. Wei Dabao tapped the brakes and called everyone to look, but it was gone in an instant.
Yan Fei paused in his speech: "...There’s quite a lot of wildlife; if you hit one, you can’t expect rescue in the wild."
Although the words were quite serious, the little incident just now suddenly made it amusing.
The car became quiet for a moment, then Xu Xiaoyan couldn’t help but chuckle, followed by Chen Yingjun and Wei Dabao who also couldn’t hold back and laughed heartily.
It might not be particularly funny, but anyone who’s been driving long knows that sometimes even small things can make those who’ve been on the road laugh out loud.
"Let’s not check out ranches tomorrow; no need to rush," Yan Fei said after the laughter. "Let’s hang around in the city first, get familiar with things. Relax a bit, study the differences between here and back home, get used to it first."
