Catastrophe Containment Facility
Chapter 1084 - 1086: The Tavern and the Pig Demon Yao
CHAPTER 1084: CHAPTER 1086: THE TAVERN AND THE PIG DEMON YAO
On the vast grasslands, two armies were facing off against each other.
One side was a regiment clad in black armor, orderly and solemn.
On the other side, they were all mounted on horses, draped in a medley of garments, composed of a coalition of nomadic tribes from the grasslands.
On the side of the black-clad army, there was a platform pulled by nine horses, upon the platform rested a black chaise, where an elderly man in a yellow robe lay, and beside him stood a simple-robed Taoist.
"Today, I personally lead the expedition and vow to eliminate these barbarians completely. State Preceptor, can you lend me a hand?"
The Taoist smiled slightly but said nothing. He was here to collect the death aura from the battlefield, and the outcome of this war was of no concern to him.
The barbarians could no longer hold back, and a group of horsemen wielding curved blades charged towards the army formation.
On the black-armored side, shields and spears were raised, and archers began their rounds of volleys.
Just as the two armies were about to clash, turning the field into a meat grinder, a gold and blue figure plummeted into the battlefield like a meteor, causing the fervent atmosphere to stagnate.
It was a woman clad in gold-blue armor, wielding a splendid longsword, known as Qiao Feiya.
She was unsure why she was here or why two armies were charging menacingly towards her.
So, she plunged her sword into the ground, unleashing a golden shockwave that spread across the battlefield.
Ordinary people on the battlefield were swept away by the shockwave yet suffered no fatal injuries; only a few superpower users could barely maintain their balance.
Beside the emperor, a general exclaimed in shock, "Your Majesty, she is a First-Class Expert!"
Upon hearing the words "First-Class Expert," the old emperor rose, his eyes intensely fixing on Qiao Feiya.
Despite being the mortal emperor, with high position and authority, those truly powerful individuals never wished to serve him."
The ones they managed to recruit were merely some fifth or sixth rank riffraff; even fourth-class experts were rare, so the appearance of a first-class expert ignited his enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, the Taoist’s expression remained unchanged. For him, so-called first-class experts were no different from ants.
But the manner in which this woman appeared was somewhat strange...
The Taoist’s eyes suddenly brightened, "Could she have come from outside?"
The old emperor stood up and said to Qiao Feiya, "This lady, I am Luo Feng, the Northern Yin Emperor. Would you be willing to assist me in Northern Yin?"
"You can choose any position you like, even become a queen..."
Qiao Feiya frowned and was about to leave when she thought this old man was uttering nonsense about making her a queen, which was utterly ridiculous.
"Miss, it is best for you to stay," the Taoist softly advised Qiao Feiya.
Qiao Feiya felt as if struck by lightning, turned to look at the Taoist, and cold sweat trickled down; this Taoist... was a catastrophe-level expert!
...
"Hmm, your appearance is quite decent," Wen Wen said, tapping his chin as he appraised the broad-shouldered woman before him.
Chun Ling was clad in heavy armor and wielded a menacing wolf fang club, both weighing at least five to six hundred pounds.
This ensemble was crafted by Wen Wen from over a thousand pounds of wrought iron, taking him several days to complete for Chun Ling.
The armor was entirely inscribed with runes, and when donned by Chun Ling, even a mere charge could rival a typical superpower user of the Assimilation Realm.
Such a Chun Ling finally qualified as Wen Wen’s cannon fodder; regardless of how strong she was, merely standing there would deter ordinary folks from making a move.
They had been on the road for several days, constantly searching for others who had come from the Federation.
This world was in no way smaller than the Federation, trying to find a specific few here was akin to fishing for a needle in the ocean.
Initially, Wen Wen had no clues, but while searching, he began to perceive the aura of the Sanctuary, or more accurately, the aura of the chains he had released, so he started pursuing in this direction.
If Wen Wen’s guesses were correct, the person corresponding to the aura should be Zhu Pengpei.
When they were brought into this world, Zhu Pengpei happened to be entangled in chains by Wen Wen, and although separated now, Wen Wen could still use these chains to trace Zhu Pengpei’s whereabouts.
They found a roadside tavern, and as Wen Wen entered, he exclaimed, "Waiter, slice me five pounds of sauced beef, and bring five pounds of good liquor!"
Usually, such orders occur only in martial arts tales.
In ancient times, eating beef was not easy—only when a cow died accidentally could people indulge in beef.
Wen Wen’s loud call was just for experiencing the feeling of being a hero.
"Sure thing, please wait a moment, your order will be served shortly," the waiter said briskly.
Wen Wen was slightly taken aback; there was beef here after all?
He scanned his surroundings and noticed many dressed like Jianghu roamers, all armed with various weapons.
They were not ordinary Jianghu warriors but rather a group of superpower users!
These superpower users were also scrutinizing Wen Wen and Chun Ling. While they couldn’t gauge Wen Wen’s prowess, the monstrous presence of the tank-like woman behind him exerted considerable pressure.
The atmosphere in the room felt slightly oppressive, and some had furtively placed their hands on their weapons.
Wen Wen, nonchalant, walked up to a fierce-looking old monk.
"Monk, can you do Crossing the River with a Reed?"
The monk was momentarily stunned, eyeing Wen Wen peculiarly, bewildered by this kid’s unconventional thinking.
"Ahem, well, I’m naturally inclined to ’showing off,’ and Crossing the River with a Reed is exceedingly graceful, so I am interested in learning it."
The superpower users in the room exchanged glances, somewhat lost for words.
They were all members of the Demon Hunter Alliance, and this place was their base, which explained the presence of dishes like sauced beef.
Today they gathered here to discuss dealing with a fierce Pig Demon Yao.
This Pig Demon Yao had appeared nearby a few days ago, causing trouble for many local landlords, leading to widespread panic.
Thus, these demon hunters congregated to hunt this powerful Pig Demon Yao.
Wen Wen appeared nonchalant, but the aura of the corpulent woman made them slightly uneasy; could she be the Pig Demon Yao?
Suspicious, they prepared to act, intending first to capture Wen Wen and Chun Ling before addressing other matters.
The Jianghu is dangerous; if the woman was indeed the Pig Demon Yao and they didn’t act, they would be the ones to die.
Noticing the strange atmosphere, Wen Wen smiled, revealing a bit of his aura.
Upon sensing Wen Wen’s aura, the superpower users broke into cold sweats, then obediently sat in their chairs, not daring to make any moves.
After displaying his aura, Wen Wen didn’t do anything excessive and continued discussing Crossing the River with a Reed with the old monk.
After chatting for a while, everyone understood that Wen Wen and Chun Ling were not connected to the Pig Demon Yao, letting the atmosphere lighten significantly.
