CHAPTER 704: CHAPTER 494: OUT OF THEIR MINDS (PART 5)

"Song Chi doesn’t want to drag others down."

"Yes," Zhou Lan said, "Since it was Song Chi who liked the script, after he decided to recast and reshoot, many young and suitable male actors went to audition, including several from Chengqian. But Song Chi didn’t want to wait anymore, he hoped that the person could join the crew and start shooting immediately, so they finally chose Chen Jing."

"Chen Jing had previously acted with Fan Zhu in ’Mother and Son Inn’, I went to see it. He’s pretty good-looking," Zhou Yun said with a smile, "He looks a bit like that Korean, Jung Haein."

"Yes," Zhou Lan said, "Ning Yao has said the same."

After discussing the Cannes arrangements, Zhou Lan left again.

She’s currently managing four artists and is very busy.

When Zhou Yun returned to the film set, she noticed that the atmosphere was a bit strange; everyone seemed too quiet.

Usually, the set wouldn’t be this quiet.

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but ask Zheng Xiaojue, "What happened? Is something wrong?"

Zheng Xiaojue nodded, saying, "Sister Xiao Yun, Liu Zhikun and He Xuran just had a conflict."

"A conflict? Why?" Zhou Yun asked in surprise. She instinctively worried whether it was because Liu Zhikun couldn’t restrain himself after previously sneaking photos.

Zheng Xiaojue said, "The two of them were filming just now, and He Xuran made a mistake with a move, nearly scratching Liu Zhikun’s face. Liu Zhikun lost his temper, accused He Xuran of doing it on purpose. Even though He Xuran apologized and insisted it wasn’t intentional, Liu Zhikun refused to accept it. He firmly believed it was intentional, cursed He Xuran out, saying some really nasty things. He Xuran, in turn, got annoyed and they started yelling at each other, nose to nose. It took a long time for everyone to break them up, and now they’re both sitting in their own trailers, neither of them coming out."

No wonder neither of them was visible.

Zhou Yun nodded, "What did the director say? Are we still shooting?"

Zheng Xiaojue shook her head, "I don’t know."

Just then, the director’s assistant asked her to come over, saying that Hou Mengjie had something to discuss with her.

Zhou Yun didn’t expect that Hou Mengjie wanted her to mediate between the two men.

Hou Mengjie said, "When you talk, they’ll listen."

"Director, I’m not very close to either of them, it’s presumptuous to go and persuade them, especially while they’re still angry. It’s useless to persuade them now. Let them cool off, then you can offer them a way out," Zhou Yun said.

Hou Mengjie said, "But who knows when the two of them will cool off? We can’t just have the entire crew waiting for them."

Zhou Yun said, "We’ll see in a while."

She deliberately didn’t pick up on Hou Mengjie’s cues.

After leaving Hou Mengjie, Zhou Yun complained to Zheng Xiaojue, "Director Hou is really something, making me, the director of this production, mediate a dispute between two actors. I’m not a revered senior whom everyone has to give face to. Do you think I should be the one to do this?"

Zheng Xiaojue shook her head, "Sister Xiao Yun, I think what you said makes sense. I also find it strange that Director Hou asked you to do this. It feels as though he doesn’t want to deal with it himself and since there’s no one else in the crew who can, it falls to you."

"So he doesn’t want to do it and expects me to do it instead? He really wishes."

Zhou Yun went back to her trailer, did nothing, and just waited.

Half an hour later, they were notified that the director said they were ready to continue shooting.

When Zhou Yun returned to the set, she saw Liu Zhikun and He Xuran each sitting separately as if they refused to acknowledge each other.

She acted as if she knew nothing and sat on her own chair, looking down at her phone.

The shooting continued. Liu Zhikun and He Xuran were the first to enter the scene, fighting with a group of extras halfway through, and Zhou Yun joined mid-scene.

Zhou Yun just waited in her spot, ready to film.

The first shot featured Liu Zhikun and He Xuran performing a combo move, joining forces against the enemy.

There was an issue with He Xuran—his weapon flew out of his hand halfway through.

They had to reshoot.

The second shot, as Liu Zhikun got kicked in the chest, he didn’t move back to the designated spot and instead crashed into He Xuran. He Xuran was knocked to the ground, eating dust.

He Xuran got up from the ground, glaring at Liu Zhikun, "You did that on purpose, didn’t you! Out of all these people, you crashed into me!"

Liu Zhikun patted his hands, with an expression of indifferent ease, and said, "Wasn’t on purpose. Please forgive me."

His attitude was too cold, almost flippantly so—it was as if the word ’perfunctory’ was written on his face, even Zhou Yun found it hard to watch.
