CHAPTER 890: HOW ABOUT WE CALL IT EVEN?

Cassian floated closer, stopping a short distance away from Kyle’s figure.

His crimson eyes swept over him slowly, their glow unreadable—filled with a mix of curiosity, disbelief, shock, and something else Kyle couldn’t quite name.

He had blacked out while Kyle’s essence was attempting the impossible—but when he came to, the chaotic energy that once ruled Hell’s Layer had vanished entirely.

Only darkness remained.

And within that vast darkness, he saw a cocoon glowing brightly in the void.

Cassian could’ve left then—nothing was stopping him anymore. But curiosity held him in place. He wanted to see just what would emerge from that cocoon. And he had to admit—he wasn’t disappointed.

The first thing that emerged from the quiet cocoon was the familiar icy flame—but this time, its edges shimmered with a spectrum of colors, each hue representing a different law, dancing together in perfect harmony.

Then, it melted into a massive, radiant snowflake—elegant and intricate. At its center sat Kyle, his eyes closed tightly.

He looked... unfamiliar.

Like something that no longer fully belonged to even the Celestial world.

And when Kyle finally opened his eyes, Cassian felt it—an instinctive, bone-deep fear prickling across his skin. But that fear quickly twisted into something stranger...

Submission.

The moment Kyle’s icy blue Celestial aura flickered to life around him, it was as if the very laws of existence had acknowledged his sovereignty. Cassian’s body stiffened.

His instincts screamed at him to obey.

He felt as if he would obey anything this being commanded—without question.

Even if it meant giving up his life.

He knew that feeling too well.

It was the kind of commanding aura only a true ruler could emit—an aura he, too, has as a Celestial. And yet, his current Celestial aura felt pitifully faint in comparison. Kyle’s, on the other hand, radiated with such force, it rivaled the majesty he had attained in his first life at the fifth stage of Celestial rank.

This wasn’t just power.

It was command.

Which unsettled Cassian. But thankfully, this was his second life—he wasn’t easily swayed by Kyle’s cold, commanding aura.

He forced a smile and held out his hand.

"You know... how about we call it even and start fresh? Maybe as friends... or at least acquaintances?"

But what Cassian got in response wasn’t a yes or no—just a solid punch to the gut. His eyes widened as the air was knocked out of him and he was flung backward. Kyle was just too fast for him to even see the attack.

"Y-You—!"

Cassian clutched his aching stomach.

A vein pulsing at his temple.

Kyle looked at him with an unreadable expression—and repeated the very same words Cassian had once thrown at him, back when the man had tried to kill him.

"Even? Hah. My deepest apologies. I don’t make peace with dead men."

He vanished—and Cassian’s heart sank.

Was he really going to die now?

After everything?

He had come so far! He had even survived Hell’s Layer without activating his natural law of rebirth! How could it end like this?

Still, he tried his best to reason with the Celestial clearly prepared to bury him.

"Wait, wait—"

But another punch slammed into his face before he could react, sending him flying.

He groaned, spitting blood. His body had only just begun to recover after waking up and finding the chaotic energy gone!

"Listen to me first! Damn it—"

Kyle clearly had no intention of listening.

Cassian had once directed a murderous aura at him—had tried to kill him. If their roles were reversed, would Cassian have simply forgiven someone like that?

Not a chance.

So Kyle beat the crap out of him.

Now that he was stronger than before, it was only fair he returned the favor to those who had wronged him when he first arrived in the Celestial Realm. After all, he was very, very petty—he never forgot old grudges!

Cassian’s vision spun. This bastard!

If only he could fight back—he’d have given him the exact same beating! But in the end, he resorted to his final card to survive.

Clearly, Kyle was destined for greatness. It was better not to end up on the bad side of someone like him. After all, he still had his own revenge to take—his own fight to fight.

So, the moment Cassian caught a second to breathe, he activated a unique law. Kyle finally paused, silently eyeing the powerful energy swirling around him—though his fist stayed raised, ready to strike the instant he learned what law Cassian had just invoked.

Cassian let out a breathless laugh, his bloodied figure moving away from Kyle.

"You greedy bastard. You have already got so many natural laws—yet you want more? When the hell will you be satisfied?"

Kyle lifted his gaze, his eyes flickering with satisfaction. The slight, wicked curve of his lips made Cassian curse under his breath.

"You already figured it out?! It took me ten years just to realize what law it even was!"

Kyle blinked, feigning innocence.

"The law of dimensions?"

He mused, his tone almost casual.

"It’s definitely useful—you can fold and create dimensions with it. How did you even discover it? That first law you used back then was pretty unique too."

Cassian wiped the blood from his face.

"You really wanna know?"

Kyle actually lowered his fist, curiosity flickering in his eyes—only for his face to deadpan at Cassian’s next words.

"It’s a secret."

Kyle let out a dark chuckle.

"You’re done."

He flexed his fingers, prepared to end this man once and for all. Like hell Kyle cared about some stupid secret laws—he could just find more natural laws on his own!

Cassian quickly raised his hands.

"Okay, kill me. But just know... I have many other unique laws, and I know something you’ll never be able to find. Not in this life."

He flashed a crooked grin.

"You see, I’m very useful."

Kyle raised an eyebrow. Was this really the same man who had once tried to kill him just for stealing one of his natural laws?

What changed? Was it because Kyle was stronger now—strong enough to kill him? Was that why Cassian changed his mind?

Still, there was something else that had been really bothering him for a while now.

"Hey, you."

Kyle muttered, narrowing his eyes.

"Don’t force a fake smile. If you can’t smile, then just don’t... That crooked grin of yours reminds me of someone I truly can’t stand."
