CHAPTER 645: MEETING LIN QIANRU

Mo Roulan cried hard.

She didn’t know if it were the confusion she was facing in her mind and heart or it was because she was finally seeing her mother awake.

Whatever it was, she felt really emotional.

"Roulan...don’t cry..."

Lin Qianru said softly.

Her own eyes were teary but her heart ached when she saw her daughter’s trembling shoulders and heard her sniffles.

Her daughter had been strong even when she had fallen weak and submitted to her fate. Seeing her strong daughter like that, her heart ached.

"Sshh...Mom is fine."

She whispered softly as she wiped her daughter’s tears.

Mo Roulan nodded her head and wiped her tears hurriedly.

Lin Qianru smiled through her tears. However, she stiffened when she heard a familiar yet an unfamiliar voice.

"Ruru..."

Lin Qianru inhaled sharply when her eyes fell on the old woman standing at the door. Soon the vision went blurry as her eyes started to fill up with fresh tears.

"Mom..."

She whispered in a trembling voice.

Chi Rong was immediately by her side. He was worried for her. He didn’t know if whatever was happening was too much for his wife’s health. He wanted her to recover more first and then meet her family but he could understand the feelings of Lin family members as well.

So he tried his best to comfort Lin Qianru.

"Qianru...take deep breaths."

Lin Qianru did as she was asked but her attention really wavered from her mother.

As if it was not enough, her eyes went to the old man who walked inside the room. Her eyes were immediately filled with shame and guilt and she looked away.

Her father had said to her many times that Wang Weimin was not a man to be relied upon ...that he will leave her when he would get a good opportunity but she didn’t trust her father.

Instead she choose to marry Wang Weimin and then left her family completely.

Now when she looked at her father, she felt ashamed and guilty for being so naïve and making such choices.

But in the end, Old Master Lin was also her father and he could see the guilt very clearly in her eyes.

His heart softened. His daughter was just like before.

It was so easy to read her mind from her face.

The world’s cruelty had not taken away her innocence and naivety from her. Old Master Lin didn’t know if he should feel happy or should feel sad about it.

In the end, he was relieved that he had found his daughter. Although knowing that she went through so much filled his heart with despair, he could only comfort himself by telling that now he would be there for his daughter.

It didn’t matter if she wanted it or not.

He would take care of his daughter and her family.

His eyes went to Chi Rong. He had chosen this man for his daughter years ago but ....now he will check again if he was reliable or not.

In the end, his daughter was left behind with grown-up children then why did Chi Rong marry his daughter?

One could not blame Old Master Lin for being suspicious of Chi Rong. He had been a businessman before and hence he had seen all kinds of people in his life who could do anything to have some advantage.

"Ruru..."

Everyone came out of his thoughts and Lin Qianru also raised her head to look at her elder brother when she raised her voice.

"Brother..."

She called out softly and Lin Yu immediately walked to his sister. His eyes were red as he hugged her and stroked her hair.

She looked so thin and frail. Her face was pale.

She was from that cheerful girl whom he had left behind years ago in their mansion.

Lin Yu had so many things he wanted to say to his sister. He wanted to apologize for not being there, for not protecting her when she needed him.

But in the end, he opened and closed his mouth but couldn’t say anything.

However, the silence did many things.

The silence of Lin Qianru apologized silently to her parents and the silence of her parents accepted that apology silently.

Many unsaid things were said by this silence.

It was a long day for everyone...especially for Lin Qianru who just woke up.

Old Lady Lin hugged her once and Old Master Lin patted her head. After that, Chi Rong made Lin Qianru go back to sleep.

The doctor had said that they can’t let her feel exhausted and she still needed a lot of rest and Chi Rong was not going to let happen otherwise.

When Mo Roulan stepped outside the room, He Jian frowned seeing her red eyes again. He didn’t like it when she cried but he knew that he couldn’t stop her from doing so at such times.

He could only lead her to their room, hug her in his arms and ask her if she was alright.

"Is Mom fine?"

Mo Roulan hummed as she nuzzled against He Jian’s chest.

He Jian smiled noticing her actions and stroked her hair silently. However, his smile wavered slightly when he remembered what Chi Rong had told him.

"Try not to appear in front of Qianru. She doesn’t know about your and Roulan’s marriage and she might not take it well. She had been angry when she had come to know that you were Roulan’s boyfriend two years ago."

He remembered how Mo Roulan had dropped a text that they are breaking up two years ago.

Was it because of her mother?

If it was then he needed to ensure that something like this would not happened again. He didn’t know why Lin Qianru didn’t like him being with Mo Roulan but he was ready to answer all her doubts and remove them.

They had so many obstacles between them.

He Jian sighed as he hugged Mo Roulan and dropped a kiss on her hair.

But it was alright. He will cross them.

But one thing should be unconditional and that was Mo Roulan being on his side. He could do anything to ensure that.
