CHAPTER 394: CHAPTER 394: OPERATION FIND MOM

Honey grabbed her brother’s hand, staring at their father on the bed, and whispered, "Will there be a magician during the New Year?" Other than a magician, she couldn’t think of anyone else who could turn mom into dad.

After a moment of surprise, Seth quickly regained his composure, "I think..."

Ethan, blinking sleepily, suddenly interjected, "Honey, Seth, how are you here? When did you arrive in Bellaza?" He said this while blinking hard, then yawned, "I must be dreaming, missing the kids too much." After speaking, he closed his eyes again.

Upon hearing this, Honey immediately got excited, grinning and rushing onto the bed, "Dad, wake up, you’re not dreaming, I’m Honey!" She pulled Ethan’s hand to her cheek, looking thrilled.

Dad must have met a magician!

Seeing through everything, Seth stood frozen by the bed, cold sweat dripping, glancing sideways at Ethan, thinking, teasing his gullible sister on New Year’s morning, doesn’t your conscience hurt?

Meanwhile, the act on the bed continued, with Ethan sitting up, feigning disbelief as he looked at Honey, and asked, "Are you really my daughter?" He said while pinching her little cheeks twice.

Honey patiently waited for her dad to finish testing her, blinking her big eyes, very seriously saying, "Isn’t it true?" You see, it’s so magical! Quickly introduce the magician you know to me!

"Ah, so it really is my daughter who’s come to see me." Ethan was delighted, hugging his daughter tightly, blowing warm air on her neck, which made Honey giggle. While teasing her, he asked, "Who brought you here?"

Honey pretended to be wise and chuckled, "Dad, this isn’t Bellaza, this is Celestia, at the old house. How did you come back? Was it the magician who brought you back? Where’s mom? Did you see mom?"

Listening to his daughter’s barrage of questions, Ethan found her adorable and suddenly felt awake, "I didn’t see mom. Is she also at the old house?"

Honey suddenly gasped, covering her mouth in surprise, her eyes wide open, and whispered, "Mom was just at the old house last night, could the magician have sent her to Bellaza? Dad, quickly call mom!"

"I didn’t see any magician last night..." Ethan feigned ignorance as well.

"Magicians might need to hide their identity." Honey began imagining scenes from movies; she’s a loyal Harry Potter fan.

Seth couldn’t bear to watch anymore, worried he might impulsively expose dad’s act, so he turned to find mom.

He saw no one in the living room, hearing sounds from the kitchen, he hurried to the kitchen, but even the two maids there didn’t know where Ruby was.

Seth was suddenly stunned, could there truly be a magician in this world? Was mom really sent to Bellaza? He turned and ran frantically to the staircase, seeing Honey coming downstairs.

"Brother, I’ve been looking for you," Honey said as she slowly descended the stairs.

Seth frowned, "Did you find mom?"

Upon hearing this, Honey paused, "I’ve searched all the rooms upstairs, was just thinking to ask you to help me look downstairs!"

Seth became more baffled, "I didn’t see mom on the first floor either, let’s check the guest rooms together."

Ruby, who had been sleeping soundly on the sofa, couldn’t help frowning as she vaguely heard the two little ones searching for her, but she was too sleepy, so she pulled the blanket tighter around herself, covering up more securely.

The two little ones didn’t find mom in the guest room and started panicking.

Honey worriedly looked at her brother, "Could mom have been taken away by a dark mage?"

Seth was also concerned about mom’s whereabouts, but he still didn’t want to believe there was magic in the world. After a moment of silence, he took his sister’s hand, "Come on, let’s find dad, he surely knows where mom is."

After saying this, the two little ones ran back upstairs.

The morning started, and they hadn’t even exchanged New Year greetings, let alone received any red envelopes, yet the two kids were already exhausted and sweating.

Ethan tried to dismiss the two children, planning to sleep a bit more, not expecting them to return so quickly without finding Ruby! Now even Seth was wearing a worried expression.

He dared not joke anymore, immediately sat up, and called Ruby.

This woman, could she have left the old house just to avoid him?

Ethan’s face fell, a surge of nameless anger rising in his heart.

Soon the phone was answered, and Ruby’s impatient voice came from the receiver, "Ethan, are you crazy?" Upstairs and downstairs, yet calling to wake her up, clearly not wanting her to sleep peacefully.

Ethan ignored Ruby’s harsh tone and asked sternly, "Where are you?"

"In the living room, sleeping, what do you want?" Ruby was full of morning grouchiness, finishing with a yawn.

Ethan was stunned, wasn’t mom supposed to be missing? He looked at the two little ones, who were definitely not messing with him, still waiting earnestly for news of mom.

"Nothing," he murmured, hanging up the phone.

Ruby downstairs was taken aback, muttering to the now black screen, "Are you a demon?" She then tossed the phone aside and laid back down to sleep again.

This time, she hadn’t even been lying down for two minutes before the two little ones burst in excitedly.

"Mom, so you were hiding here!" Honey dove into her arms, laughing as if she’d found mom after losing her.

Seth observed for a bit, confirming this was indeed an undamaged mom, and he breathed a sigh of relief.

Seeing her two precious kids, Ruby’s morning crankiness disappeared without a trace, hugging Honey and smiling, "Yes, mom’s here."

"I thought you’d been taken away by a dark mage and was worried sick," Honey rubbed her face against mom’s, acting all spoiled.

A dark mage? Such a fantastical plotline so early in the morning?

Then Honey pointed at dad, who sat down beside them, sleepy like mom, and said mysteriously, "Mom, a magician brought dad. When he was asleep, he was still in Bellaza."

Ruby’s smile twitched, wondering why her daughter would discuss such an absurd matter with her early in the morning.

She gave Ethan a side glance, about to speak, but that guy interjected, making a show of lowering his voice to tell their daughter, "Honey, keep the matter of the magician a secret." He then made a zipper motion over his mouth.

Honey immediately grasped what dad meant, mimicking him and nodding vigorously.

Ruby pressed her lips together, seeing her daughter’s sparkling eyes, she suppressed the urge to tell the truth, kissing her on the forehead.

The operation to find mom was successfully concluded, with Seth calling his sister, who’s being affectionate with mom, to come over, and they stood in a line, bowing to their disheveled, sleepy parents, saying, "Happy New Year, mom and dad!"

Ruby couldn’t help but giggle at the little ones’ uncoordinated but loud New Year greeting and old-fashioned gesture, "Happy New Year, Honey, Seth."

She saw the eager eyes of the two little ones still fixed on her, then remembered something important, quickly getting off the couch and running upstairs.
