Chubby Mommy: Scheming Daddy, Surrender Now!
Chapter 437: Boredom
CHAPTER 437: CHAPTER 437: BOREDOM
Aidan Sinclair smiled briefly, opened the door, "Let’s talk inside." He opened a bottle of mineral water, "Want a drink?"
Wendy Sheffield shook her head, looking directly at him, wanting to hear what he had to say to her, although she already had a bit of a premonition.
Aidan Sinclair got straight to the point: "I already have a girl I like."
Wendy Sheffield’s face dropped instantly, sneering, "Girl? You really are a gentleman." She subconsciously imagined the person he mentioned was Ruby Sullivan.
Aidan Sinclair didn’t understand what she meant by this, so he just pursed his lips and nodded, not responding to her remark, "Well...I’m planning to watch a movie, you should rest early." Implying a polite farewell, he also didn’t want Ruby Sullivan to know that Wendy Sheffield stayed too long in his room.
Wendy Sheffield understood his subtle hint to leave, but was unwilling, "You won’t have a future with her."
Aidan Sinclair was quite surprised to hear this, "Do you know who I like?"
"It’s so obvious, anyone who isn’t blind can see it."
Aidan Sinclair was still puzzled, "Have you seen her?" Wendy Sheffield had only returned to the country days ago, he didn’t think she’d seen Stella Jennings.
Hearing this, Wendy Sheffield was also confused, "Isn’t it Ruby Sullivan?"
Aidan Sinclair burst out laughing, "How could it be her? No, no, you misunderstood, if I liked her, Ethan Sterling would chop me up into dumpling stuffing." Even the bones would be minced.
Wendy Sheffield blushed, "Then who is it?"
"You don’t know her."
Wendy Sheffield snorted, "Better than me?"
Aidan Sinclair found this question rather pointless because he often heard women ask it, and when he was in a good mood, he would perfunctorily respond, but often he didn’t answer at all.
He believed that a sensible woman wouldn’t compare herself to other women and demand an answer from a man, just like each flower has its own beauty, some love roses while others prefer lilies, so women naturally have their unique charms too, it’s just that he happened to fall in love with someone else.
"In my eyes, she’s the best." From this question alone, he could tell Wendy Sheffield wouldn’t be his wife, even if it wasn’t Stella Jennings.
"Got it." Wendy Sheffield’s heart sank to the bottom, "Bring her out to hang out next time, I’m curious what kind of woman could capture your heart."
Aidan Sinclair smiled but said nothing. He also wanted to bring her out, wanted to buy a top trending spot and announce it, but couldn’t, the relationship was not even close to being settled.
As Wendy Sheffield walked out, she thought of the dining table incident and couldn’t help but ask, "Then why were you and Ruby Sullivan exchanging flirtatious glances?"
Aidan Sinclair felt immensely wronged but on second thought, perhaps to a mindless observer, it did look a bit off, "She’s a friend of that girl, I’m afraid she might snitch."
Wendy Sheffield understood, she left Aidan Sinclair’s room, holding in her emotions until she reached her own room, then her eyes welled up with grievance.
She thought he hadn’t settled down all these years because he was waiting for her return, in the end, it was just her overthinking it.
That night, her mother came to chat again, naturally about her and Aidan Sinclair.
Wendy Sheffield cried again in the shower, for the first time in her life she experienced liking someone who didn’t like her back, not just feeling upset, but also greatly frustrated. With her eyes reddened, she glared at her mother coldly, saying, "Set me up for a date, Aidan Sinclair already has someone in mind."
Mrs. Sheffield nodded, she too had guessed a bit, today Shawn Sheffield wanted to discuss the children’s matters several times but was brushed off by the Third Uncle, clearly he had communicated with his son, so the attitude had completely changed from the morning.
"I wonder if the company cooperation will be affected." Mrs. Sheffield sighed, looking somewhat worried.
"Who knows." Wendy Sheffield didn’t want to see her mother wearing a face full of bitterness and resentment, so she turned up the TV volume a bit, hoping to express her desire not to discuss further in this way.
But Mrs. Sheffield had even more concerns, unable to hold back from venting to her daughter, "I heard that daughter-in-law of The Sterling Family is hard to deal with, anyone who has had discord with her in the past has been retaliated against. Do you think today’s Leah Bennett incident will make her vent her anger on our family?"
Wendy Sheffield couldn’t care less about these things but didn’t mind expressing her opinion, "Leah Bennett is just brainless for speaking ill of the host family in such a setting. Even if Ruby Sullivan is no longer The Sterling’s daughter-in-law, she’s still a guest invited by Vivian. Can a person like her, who’s just tagging along, have the right to comment wildly?"
Her current mood made it satisfying to argue with anyone, but her analysis of the matter was quite impartial.
"Your sister-in-law keeps pleading with me..." Mrs. Sheffield also felt this matter was handled poorly, and the couple was cluelessly seeking Third Uncle for advice, truly foolish.
Shawn Sheffield thought it was because of brotherhood, making her exceptionally angry.
"We’ll address it when something happens, worrying now is useless, I want to watch a movie." Wendy Sheffield immersed herself in heartbreak, if her mother didn’t want to offer consolation, then fine, but at least stop bringing up unhelpful matters to bother her. Anyway, the company didn’t involve her, any revenge wouldn’t fall on her.
Meanwhile, Ruby Sullivan was unaware someone was gossiping about her, she hadn’t adjusted her jet lag yet and couldn’t seem to sleep despite being quite alert.
Ethan Sterling grinned slyly, "Madam, do you mean I wasn’t diligent enough just now?" He leaned over to lightly bite her chin, "We can continue."
Ruby Sullivan laughed and pushed his face away, "Mr. Sterling, calm down, overindulgence can harm your health."
"I’m perfectly healthy."
Ruby Sullivan pulled the blanket over herself, "I surrender."
He laughed again, thinking his wife looks wonderful no matter how he sees her; he changes positions, patting his thigh, "Come over, private service."
Ethan Sterling hadn’t given her a head massage in a long while, so it was a perfect opportunity for her to enjoy one.
Ruby Sullivan happily laid over, and in less than five minutes, she felt sleepy, it truly was magical. In a daze, she grabbed Ethan Sterling’s hand and kissed it, "If you ever stop loving me, make sure to tell me honestly, I will definitely make a graceful exit."
Ethan Sterling kissed her forehead, "You’re not allowed to have a day when you stop loving me."
Early the next morning, Honey came knocking, greeting her father with good morning before rushing in to find her mother, "That Grandpa Sheffield seems to have had a big fight with Third Grandpa, stormed off furiously." She said, giggling with her mouth covered, this gossiping look made Ruby Sullivan see herself.
Wait, she certainly wasn’t this interested in gossip at Honey’s young age!
"Why are you so happy then?" She pinched her daughter’s chubby cheeks.
"Jasper Sheffield smiled at me when he was leaving, although I don’t like him anymore, his smile is still very charming." Honey hid shyly in her mother’s arms.
Ruby Sullivan truly admired her daughter’s personality.
She and Ethan Sterling went out for breakfast, only then did she learn Third Uncle was very angry and went home with Vivian first. It’s said Shawn Sheffield spoke quite harshly, directing all criticism towards The Sterling Family, as well as Ruby Sullivan the former daughter-in-law.
