CHAPTER 489: CHAPTER 489: DON’T WANT TO LOWER MY IQ

Ethan Sterling hung up the phone, and Seth Sterling pursed his lips and said with some concern, "Removing the eyeball, isn’t that quite severe?" Although he disliked Joel Lawson, it wasn’t to this extent.

"I’ll take you to visit later, and you can ask the doctor yourself," Ethan Sterling said as if it were real.

Old Black drove his car to take the mother and son to Mercy Hospital for a check-up, and Ethan Sterling was now driving Ruby Sullivan’s car home.

Ruby Sullivan sat in the back seat with Seth, comforting her son, "Some people need a little lesson, this is also for his own good. Taking out the eyeball might seem serious, but scaring him a little should be fine."

Seth exhaled a long breath, "Okay." He buried his head in silence for a while and mumbled, "Sorry, I’ve caused you trouble."

Seeing her son’s sensible look, Ruby felt a pang of heartache thinking about the discomfort and anger he felt after hearing his classmates’ nonsense, "It’s Dad and Mom who should apologize because we didn’t handle our own matters well and let you get affected."

Affecting their child was something Ethan and Ruby Sterling never anticipated; if they had known, they wouldn’t have remained silent for so long.

Seth leaned against his mother, "It’s okay, I know the adult world is complex, you must have your difficulties." Although he didn’t know the truth behind those online rumors, he was certain of one thing: his parents’ relationship hadn’t been affected by this. Although they hadn’t remarried, their feelings were stable, even more so than when they were married.

"Mom and I will resolve our matters soon," Ethan Sterling promised his son.

"Okay, I’ve always believed in you."

Ruby and Ethan always hoped their son could enjoy a normal elementary school experience. Although he was smart, emotionally, he was still just a child, only understanding the surface of many things. Pursuing academic achievements too early could easily lead to personality flaws.

But they didn’t expect their son to apply for skipping a grade himself. They were a bit worried, wondering if it was because of their matters that made him want to change classmates.

Perhaps letting him stay in an ordinary elementary school of varying quality or sending him to a youth genius class at a high-end school would be a better choice.

However, it’s best to think this matter through carefully, and their son’s thoughts are the most important; they need to discuss it thoroughly with him.

Soon, they arrived at Mercy Hospital. After calling Old Black, they learned that the mother and daughter were taken to the top floor after the bleeding from the teeth was stopped, to check the eye issue in the VIP area.

The mother was stunned after hearing the doctor’s diagnosis, "What kind of nonsense hospital is this? My son was just punched by another kid, how could he need an eyeball replacement?"

"If you insist on not replacing it, that’s fine, but external symptoms will soon appear, like pus accumulation. Without removal, the vision of the good eye might be affected."

"Then we won’t have it checked here; we’ll go to another hospital." The plump mother grabbed her son’s hand to leave, only to find their way blocked by many men in black suits appearing from nowhere in the corridor.

Old Black said unhurriedly, "I think your son should stay here for treatment." His brow-twitching and cold smile were enough to scare anyone.

The plump woman was so frightened she didn’t dare to cry loudly, clutching Old Black’s sleeve and crying out, "My son is only ten, if you want to take an eyeball, take mine!"

Old Black laughed, "You yourself said your son’s eye was badly hurt. If you want an eyeball taken, you’ll have to find a hospital yourself."

"Then... I’ll take my son to find a hospital."

"He can’t leave. If you delay his treatment, our young master will still have to take responsibility." Old Black’s tone was firm.

Joel Lawson was so scared he started to cry.

Soon, Seth and the Sterling couple came out of the elevator. Upon hearing the commotion, Seth couldn’t help but run a few steps forward, worried he might foolishly agree to an eyeball removal.

When Joel saw Seth, he quickly wiped his tears, "Don’t leave us here."

Seth took a step back, not wanting to be grabbed by this person, looking steadily at him and recalling his arrogant attitude from last night; he suddenly felt a bit scornful.

His mom’s analysis was right. They bullied him because they thought he was easy to push around, which is why they dared to ask about his parents’ marriage status.

"Do you know you’re wrong?" Seth asked coldly.

Joel nodded repeatedly, "I know I’m wrong, please don’t take my eyeball."

Before coming, Seth wanted an apology from him, but seeing his sorry state now, he felt whether or not he apologized wasn’t important; the other party was just an insignificant bottle cap, not worth his concern. Hearing or not hearing that apology didn’t really matter.

He freed himself from Joel’s hand, turned to Ethan, and said, "Dad, just let it be."

"Are you satisfied?"

Seth shook his head, "Suddenly it feels like arguing with him lowers my intelligence."

After discussing with Seth, Ethan and Ruby Sterling finally decided to send him to the genius class. On one hand, the learning atmosphere in such a class is more intense, and on the other hand, the children in the class might be similar to Seth, allowing him to make some real friends. Seth had waited long for this day, and if he still couldn’t absorb new knowledge, he would prepare for the college entrance exam this year.

However, a week later, Mr. Wyatt unexpectedly came to the house, hoping Seth would return to class.

"I’m definitely not going back!" Seth was resolute. He was already preparing for the genius class entrance exam; how could he give up at such a time.

Mr. Wyatt sighed, trying his best to persuade, "Can’t you at least stay until the end of the semester?"

"I think you should speak the truth," Ruby Sullivan was a bit impatient.

Mr. Wyatt had to confess, "Seth is an important member of the school’s robotics team, and the competition is coming up soon. The school places great importance on it and hopes Seth will return." If she couldn’t bring him back, she might as well resign.

All this was because she hadn’t investigated clearly, and in the presence of Joel’s mother, she felt a bias towards bullying softer students, wanting to suppress obedient ones to get to the bottom of things. But she never expected Seth wouldn’t be easily suppressed.

Ruby looked at her son, and Seth stated with confidence, "I’ve worked on the robotics development all alone. Although there are a few people in the team, they don’t understand anything. I can’t feel the joy of teamwork at all,

it’s very dull."

"Sorry, Mr. Wyatt, I think my son needs a more suitable school."

The homeroom teacher was forcibly sent out. Standing at the door, she wanted to knock but feared it would backfire, so she left dejectedly.

Ruby and Seth didn’t feel bad for the teacher; although she taught linguistics well, she was lacking in other areas and needed a good reflection.
