CHAPTER 504: CHAPTER 504: FRIENDS AT FIRST SIGHT

T smiled and tapped her nose, "It’s a secret."

Honey frowned, complaining, "Stingy." After saying that, she released her grip, stepped back a few paces, crossed her arms in front of her chest, and huffed, saying stubbornly, "I don’t even want to know the topics between men. Mom and I have our own girl topics." She turned to look at her mom, "Right, Mom?"

Ruby Sullivan couldn’t stop herself from playing along when she saw her daughter’s stubborn face, "Of course, darling."

Honey giggled, ran over to hug her mom’s neck, and gave her a big kiss on the cheek, whispering, "I love you."

Ruby Sullivan made a heart with her hands, "I love you too."

And then the mother and daughter burst into laughter.

At this moment, Seth Sterling pushed the door open and came out, saying sheepishly, "Uh... I think I overslept."

"It’s okay, you can still make it in time for lunch," Ethan Sterling reassured his son, also giving T a slight smile.

Honey mischievously grinned and winked, "Uncle T, today’s breakfast was really rich, there were vegetable buns, fried dough sticks, soy milk, and three-flavored wontons too, the wonton soup was just delicious." She exaggeratedly closed her eyes, smacked her lips, and acted as if she were reminiscing about the taste.

Ruby Sullivan felt relieved that she wouldn’t have to worry about her daughter relying on her brother for food in the future; with her daughter’s dramatic flair, if she couldn’t be a star, she could at least be a broadcaster.

T looked a bit dazed watching Honey’s performance, then glanced at Mr. and Mrs. Sterling’s expressions, finally lowering his head to see Seth with a helpless frown, and couldn’t help but laugh. He couldn’t say why it was funny, but the atmosphere just made him want to laugh.

As a result, his laughter made the two children laugh along, and eventually, Ruby Sullivan and Ethan Sterling found it amusing too.

Mama Bennett came out of the kitchen, with her habitual grin, and seeing them laughing so happily, she joined in, "Second Miss, what’s all the joy about?"

"Yes, yes, I was just about to call you to get ready for lunch," Mama Bennett said with a chuckle and turned back to the kitchen to bring out the dishes.

Seth grabbed T by the hand, "Mr. T, I’ll take you to wash your hands."

Ruby Sullivan and Ethan Sterling exchanged a curious glance, wondering why their son was so fond of T. Seth had never been so enthusiastic towards anyone, except for his mom; his usual demeanor towards his dad was indifferent.

During lunch, Seth and T announced an important matter.

T wanted to acknowledge Seth as his godson, "Of course, if you don’t mind my status."

Seth didn’t understand why Mr. T said that, worrying his parents might mind his humble origins, he firmly said, "I really like Mr. T."

T didn’t mean it that way.

It wasn’t that T deliberately concealed his identity from Seth; on one hand, Seth was still too young, and he feared that if Seth misunderstood some matters and said the wrong thing outside, it might lead to disastrous consequences. On the other hand, he was afraid Seth might develop misguided admiration and go astray.

The reason T wanted to acknowledge this godson was quite simple, he just wanted a son.

Ethan Sterling and Ruby Sullivan also understood that associating with someone like T could either bring great luck or significant trouble. If they truly got entangled, it certainly wouldn’t be a small matter. Saying they weren’t worried would be a lie, but seeing their son’s resolve, Ruby chose to leave the decision to Ethan.

"I think in the future, if anything arises because of this, Mr. Sterling would have to deal with it,

so I’ll leave the approval to Mr. Sterling."

T nodded and sincerely looked at Ethan Sterling.

Ethan Sterling smiled, "Fortunately, although I’m not very capable, I still have the ability to fulfill my son’s wish. I’m really happy that you’ve taken a liking to him."

Although it was just a formality, Seth still wanted it to feel ceremonial.

In Bellaza, children receive their godparents during baptism, but since Seth wasn’t a believer and T called himself a child abandoned by God, they decided to adopt the Celestian custom for acknowledging a godparent.

Actually, no one knew the exact ritual, so they had T sit in a chair, Seth presented him with a cup of tea, knelt down, and kowtowed three times, thus successfully recognizing him as his godfather.

Naturally, a godfather should prepare a gift for their first meeting, but T honestly didn’t have anything suitable to give, so they agreed that he would send a gift to Seth once he returned to Bellaza.

Seth, recalling the earlier conversation, was worried that receiving a gift might burden T, "Actually, as long as it’s a meaningful gift, I’d be happy, for example... the cufflink on your sleeve would be fine."

T laughed, "Haha, in Bellaza, cufflinks are given to women you like, but don’t worry, godfather will prepare a better gift for you."

Seth didn’t realize that what he fancied was a natural amethyst cufflink, and of course,

T wasn’t withholding it out of reluctance.

Originally, T had planned to stay in Celestia for just two days before returning to Bellaza, but he found the food and accommodations so satisfying that he didn’t want to leave even after the weekend and told Ethan Sterling and Ruby Sullivan to go about their business, not to worry about him.

He then started a ’degenerate life’ of dropping off and picking up kids from school, accompanying Mama Bennett to the supermarket and market, and occasionally doing some square dancing in the mornings and evenings.

Before they knew it, it was Friday again, and after putting the two kids to sleep, the three adults watched a black-and-white Hepburn film, drank some wine, and chatted until past two in the morning before retiring to their rooms.

In the morning, just as Ruby Sullivan was still asleep, she heard Mama Bennett urgently knocking on the door, shouting, "Girl, young master, get up quickly, someone’s here."

Ruby Sullivan and Ethan Sterling were still groggy, but T had already heard the commotion and came out of his room, asking, "What’s wrong?" in his unpracticed Celestian.

Mama Bennett, looking anxious, gestured and spoke in a rush, but couldn’t make T understand what was going on, until Seth emerged from his room to act as a translator.

Outside, several men in black suits and sunglasses stood, and Mama Bennett felt they were up to no good, so she looked through the peephole but didn’t dare open the door.

T slightly furrowed his brow, instructed Seth to take Mama Bennett to hide, and told Ruby Sullivan and Ethan Sterling to lock the door and not come out, then he headed towards the door.

Seth saw him pull out that small revolver and realized the situation was grave, quickly pulling Mama Bennett into a room.

Meanwhile, inside the room, Ethan Sterling had already called Old Black, but it would take at least a minute for the Sterling Family’s bodyguards to arrive, making him anxious as well.

T peered through the peephole but saw nothing, took a deep breath, and placed his hand on the door handle.
