CHAPTER 525: CHAPTER 525: WANT TO DO A ROUNDHOUSE KICK

"Is there really anything false about this?" Crystal Pierce put down her phone and said slowly.

Sylvia Fenton suddenly became nervous, "It won’t affect you joining the crew, right?" If she really has to rest for two or three months, the director might have an issue.

Crystal rolled her eyes, "Since when did you become so slow? I am such a dedicated actress,

even if there’s a slight issue with my ligaments, I will definitely report to the crew on time. Do you need me to remind you of such a minor thing?" Her leg was, of course, fine, but reporters certainly preferred to take photos of her in a cast. Never mind a ligament strain, they would be thrilled if her leg was broken. Who cares if it’s possible or not?

Sylvia let out a long breath, "Alright, Winnie is already on her way. I’ll be going now," she said as she saw Crystal nod. She had to ask, "Did Mr. Sinclair call you?"

Crystal smiled, "Do I need to report this kind of thing to you?"

"Understanding the private lives of artists is part of a manager’s job too." Sylvia said this but didn’t persist with the question, turning around to leave.

Because she knew, Crystal’s refusal to speak was already an answer. It was common for couples to quarrel, especially those who’ve been together for so long, so she didn’t doubt the relationship between Crystal and Aidan Sinclair at all.

After Sylvia left, Crystal’s indifferent face showed anxiety. She wanted to send a text to Aidan Sinclair, edited it several times, but always found it inappropriate. Finally, she tossed her phone aside in frustration and closed her eyes to sleep.

At the back door of Splendor Grand Hotel, Ellie hurried to pick up Stella Jennings and got her into the car first.

Ruby Sullivan said, somewhat uneasy, "Today’s events were probably set up by Crystal Pierce. She will certainly make a big deal out of this."

"I’ll handle it as soon as I get back," Ellie said, hesitating for a moment before she couldn’t help but ask, "Did Stella mention anything about Crystal’s apology?"

"No." Ruby Sullivan could tell from her expression that something must have happened.

Remembering that day still annoyed Ellie, but she calmly recounted the event, even replicating Gavin Garrison’s words almost exactly. After she finished, she gave a bitter smile, "I think Crystal is trying to get rid of Stella this time."

Ruby’s face darkened; she just knew it was Aidan Sinclair’s problem! But she suppressed her anger and said politely, "Please help that kid, she’s had a tough time."

Ellie didn’t expect to hear such words and felt a little embarrassed, "Don’t worry, I’ll do my best to protect Stella. It’s my job."

After watching the car drive off, Ruby returned to the lobby, heading straight for Aidan Sinclair.

Aidan only felt as if a wave of murderous intent hit his face, leaving him a bit bewildered, "Wenny, what did I do to provoke you?"

Ruby curled her lips into a cold smile, "Mr. Sinclair, don’t you want to discuss your relationship with Crystal Pierce with me?"

Hearing her words, Aidan’s face changed for the worse. He knew Ruby wouldn’t confront him like this unless something had happened.

"Let’s visit the hospital later." After Ruby said this, she turned to find Ethan Sterling. Tonight’s events could be blown out of proportion, and they might need The Sterling Group’s public relations,

so it was better to give him a heads-up.

Twenty minutes later, Ruby, with Aidan Sinclair, went to the hospital where Crystal was, letting Howard handle the gifts prepared for her, as she was naturally stingy.

On the way, Ruby recounted the events at the Japanese restaurant in detail, leaving Aidan completely dumbfounded, mumbling, "Holly didn’t say anything."

"Is it your first day knowing her? She’s always afraid of causing trouble." Ruby didn’t want to comment on what he’d done anymore. Gavin is under his command, and if he’d made things clear, the other party wouldn’t have acted this way.

"If you’re not having an affair with Crystal, just say so; you and Holly are just friends now. There’s no need to keep it under wraps. If that woman exposes you one day, it’ll only look worse."

Aidan felt dejected, knowing explanations were useless.

Because he had made it very clear, to everyone, that he had absolutely no improper relationship with Crystal Pierce— none at all!

Crystal was in a private hospital room, and after Ruby knocked, it was her new assistant, Winnie, who opened the door.

"I’m sorry, Crystal is already asleep." Winnie politely declined.

Aidan interjected, "Tell her Aidan Sinclair is here to see her."

"You are Mr. Sinclair!" Winnie was surprised, thinking she almost made a mistake earlier.

Crystal had instructed her to meet no one except Aidan Sinclair, so she immediately refused when she saw a man and a woman at the door.

"Please wait a moment, I’ll inform Crystal," Winnie closed the door and quickly returned, "Mr. Sinclair, please come in."

Crystal had hastily tidied her messy hair, her makeup-free face slightly dull, but couldn’t hide her beautiful features.

"Mr. Sullivan is here too? Sorry for the trouble," she greeted warmly.

Ruby couldn’t be bothered with fake familiarity, "Can you have your assistant leave first? I have something to discuss with you."

Crystal glanced at Aidan, suddenly feeling uneasy but maintained her smile, "Winnie, you may leave for now."

"Okay." Winnie obediently left. She was interning before graduating college, and as Chief Assistant for a celebrity for the first time, she hadn’t yet developed a sense for gossip. Although feeling the room’s atmosphere was odd, she didn’t overthink it.

After she walked out and closed the door, Crystal immediately asked with a smile, "Mr. Sullivan, you can speak now."

Ruby didn’t hold back, pulling up a chair and bluntly asking, "Did you fall deliberately today?"

Crystal laughed, "Mr. Sullivan, you may not be very familiar with the entertainment industry; I really don’t need to resort to such measures to gain exposure."

"I know you don’t need this kind of exposure; you want to expose Stella."

Crystal frowned, "Mr. Sullivan, what do you mean by that? I don’t understand."

"Leading actress, stop acting. Let me just say this: if Stella is affected by your fall today, there will no longer be a Crystal Pierce in the entertainment industry."

Crystal’s smile finally faded; she glanced at the silent Aidan and coolly said, "Mr. Sullivan, that’s quite a statement. I’m just a small-time artist, naturally incomparable to a big businessperson like you. But I’ve never been someone afraid of trouble in all my years in this field."

"Then don’t be afraid, give it a try." Ruby dropped these words with a faint smile and turned to leave.

Crystal was so furious her face turned pale with anger, seeing Aidan didn’t follow her out, she pitifully called his name, "Aidan..."

Aidan wore a dark expression, his voice grim, "You better take her words seriously."

Crystal froze, feeling as if she’d been plunged into an ice cellar.
