CHAPTER 75: CHAPTER 75: CINDY’S WARNING

"That’s really nice," Cindy Sterling said, her face filled with envy, not sensing any issues.

She was discovered by a modeling scout at the age of fourteen, initially thinking it was just for fun, and never expected it would become a career. This made her student life somewhat different from ordinary people. Although she had friends within the circle, she envied the kind of friendships Ruby, Sasha Shaw, and Faye Truman shared, having gone through their student years together.

The other three exchanged glances; Sasha Shaw timidly lowered her head to drink water, Faye Truman maintained a blank expression, while Ruby Sullivan smiled, called over a server to order food, hoping Cindy would forget, or simply wouldn’t discuss such trivial matters with Ethan Sterling.

Cindy’s attention quickly shifted to eating; she knew nothing about Chinese cuisine, only emphasized she couldn’t eat spicy food at all, even a little bit would cause her face to break out in red pimples.

Ruby Sullivan knew Cindy needed to control her diet to maintain her figure, and ordered mostly mild-flavored vegetarian dishes.

With delicious food, and Sasha Shaw trying various topics to liven the atmosphere, Cindy seemed to have forgotten the comment Sasha offhandedly mentioned.

After the meal, Ruby Sullivan received a call from Ethan Sterling, instructing her to wait there for Howard to pick her up. Though he didn’t say why, she could only comply with the boss’s orders. Initially wanting Cindy to take her car home, but was surprised to find Cindy couldn’t drive.

"Um... because work keeps me busy and I’m not really interested in driving, so..." she felt a bit embarrassed since not many people around her didn’t drive.

"No problem, I can take her home," Faye Truman took Ruby Sullivan’s car keys.

Sasha Shaw envied as she bit her lower lip, her eyes sparkling, "I have work this afternoon, otherwise I would have sent you home too... see you next time."

"Hope we get a chance to collaborate," Cindy Sterling winked at her, eyes smiling.

She didn’t have friends who were fans this exaggerated around her, but Sasha was indeed very cute, especially her insights on fashion; they had a lot in common.

Sasha Shaw nodded vigorously, glancing at the somewhat impatient Faye Truman, "You better drive carefully, okay?"

"Don’t worry, for sure it’ll be safer than if you sent her back. If you fainted while driving, it’d be trouble." He finished with disdain and turned to get in the car.

Sasha Shaw angrily glared at him, shaking her fist.

"Then, goodbye," Cindy Sterling waved with a smile and got into the car.

Faye Truman didn’t drive today, mainly because he worried when Ruby Sullivan and Sasha Shaw got excited they might want to drink, needing a driver during the day. However, today, clearly because of Cindy’s presence, Ruby was keeping something to herself unsaid, and Sasha had completely turned silly, neither thought of drinking.

After the car drove for a while, Cindy suddenly tilted her head, looking at Faye Truman with an investigative gaze and asked, "Do you like Wenny?"

"Me?" Faye Truman laughed at her question but couldn’t say he was Ruby Sullivan’s older brother, so he casually dodged, "I like someone youthful like you."

His job usually involved dealing with various women, so chatting with them required no effort.

Cindy Sterling wasn’t someone easily swayed, intentionally ramped up her tone, subtly warning, "Wenny’s dating my brother, you’d better not waste your time. I understand your kind of long-term friendship, but think about it, if Wenny liked you, my brother wouldn’t be in the picture, right?" She sized up Faye’s stiff profile, thinking her words had some effect, and added, "I suggest you cut your losses quickly."

Faye Truman’s unpleasant expression wasn’t because of these half-truth threats from her mouth, but because this girl had clearly not forgotten they were college classmates, feeling a bit helpless, inwardly cursed Sasha Shaw that pig and felt better.

Actually, he barely listened to the latter part of Cindy’s words.

When he came back to himself, found she was silent, he took the initiative to find a topic, "I’ve been a plastic surgeon for seven years, have a great reputation. If you have any friends who need it, they can come to me. Our hospital is very mindful of customers’ privacy, you can rest assured about that."

Cindy Sterling listened to his unsolicited promotion, feeling dissatisfied, "Do you think there’s anything on my face that needs to be fixed?" She was considering venturing into the film industry someday, always cherishing her natural face.

But Faye Truman had mentioned this more than once, leaving her both annoyed and insecure.

Given her current status within the circle, nobody would dare point out anything wrong, everyone was careful about her reputation, and her team had been protecting her well, hearing too much praise, sometimes she didn’t know if what people said was true or false.

Faye Truman glanced at her and realized his words were rather tactless.

In his years of practice, he’d seen many naturally beautiful girls. He always wanted to tell them they looked great without surgery, but often the girls sitting in front of him only wanted to hear how to improve their looks or meet their ideal expectations.

"Actually... I personally think, regardless of who, the natural state is the most beautiful."

Cindy found it contradictory to hear this from a plastic surgeon, but his expression seemed genuine, and she had a better impression of him.

"Seeing as how you put it, if I have friends in need, I’ll refer them to you."

"Great."

Meanwhile, Ruby Sullivan got in the car and saw Ethan Sterling was also present, so she asked where they were heading. If it involved an event where she needed to attend with Ethan, they wouldn’t notify her last minute, and her clothes were also not suitable.

For matters unrelated to work... Ruby always found it odd to have any reason to act alongside Ethan.

Ethan Sterling responded mysteriously, "You’ll know when we arrive."

Ruby couldn’t help but feel scornful inside but could only accept.

Unexpectedly, the car sped up on the highway, driving over an hour straight to a high-end villa area.

The luxurious gates aside, the way was lined with greenery, uniquely styled houses nestled amid flower trees, artificial canals flowed elegantly, and further inside was a large man-made lake with seating specifically built for fishing.

Ethan Sterling noticed her head tilted, constantly looking out the window, casually asked, "Do you like it here?"

Ruby Sullivan thought his question pointless, "Wouldn’t everyone like it here?" She turned her head to look at him, "You didn’t bring me here to look at houses, did you?"

Ethan Sterling chuckled, a hint of mockery in his eyes, "This area was developed three years ago, with a total of fifteen villas, each one pre-ordered and designed by specialized architects to meet clients’ needs. Even if I wanted to buy, it’s not possible."

While speaking, Howard parked the car in front of a villa, "Mr. Sterling, we’ve arrived."

Ethan Sterling didn’t hurry to get out but looked at Ruby Sullivan and said, "This is Miles Mona’s home."
