Capítulo 1449: Chapter 1448: Back to the Printing Factory
Ye Qiu drove back to the Jin University Campus teacher’s dormitory. After Lin Wanqing got out of the car, she closed the door, and Ye Qiu just drove away.
Ye Qiu drove back to the Peach Blossom Source Villa Community. When he got back to the villa, his parents and sister had not returned yet.
Now he planned to play some games, take a bath, and then continue with cultivation. However, Ye Qiu’s phone rang, and when he took it out to check, it was a call from Ling Fei.
“Ling Fei, it’s me.”
“Ye Qiu, where are you?” Ling Fei asked from the other end.
“I just got home, is something wrong?”
“I want to discuss my parents’ issue with you.” When Ye Qiu heard Ling Fei mention her parents, he quickly recalled the matter of Ling Zhengwei and Zhou Xiaolan.
“I’ll come and pick you up.”
Ye Qiu had to leave the villa again.
If Ling Fei hadn’t brought it up, Ye Qiu might have almost forgotten about the progress of Ling Fei’s parents’ reconciliation. Of course, he didn’t know the specifics of Ling Zhengwei and Miss Zhou’s situation now.
Ye Qiu remembered that during the Spring Festival, Ling Zhengwei went to East Sea City for half a month’s training. In theory, Ling Zhengwei’s mindset should have improved somewhat.
When Ye Qiu drove to the vicinity of the teacher’s college, he parked his car outside. Soon, he saw Ling Fei, wearing a dress, walking toward him.
Ling Fei had learned from her classmates at Jin University that Ye Qiu had returned.
Ling Fei thought Ye Qiu would take the initiative to talk to her, but she realized it was impossible. If she hadn’t called him, he wouldn’t have reached out to her at all.
Now, Ye Qiu stood there as Ling Fei jogged over.
Seeing Ling Fei didn’t look any different, the two walked forward to the nearby Xuanwu Lake scenic area.
“How is your dad?”
“My dad went to East Sea for training, right? It seems his mindset has opened up a bit. When he came back, he bought both me and himself two sets of clothes. This dress was bought by him for me.”
Ye Qiu looked at the floral dress and thought it was okay; each one should cost a few hundred yuan.
“Your dad didn’t know how to dress before. He thought he worked in a workshop and easily got his clothes dirty, so he didn’t pay attention to dressing up, nor was he willing to spend money on it. Actually, work is one thing, and being off work is another; they are completely different,” said Ye Qiu.
Ling Fei was naturally aware of this, so compared to her father, she felt her mother, Zhou Xiaolan, knew better about dressing, even though she didn’t spend much and bought clothes from Taobao.
“What about you?” Ling Fei asked Ye Qiu intriguingly.
Ye Qiu’s outfit looked quite plain too.
“I do it on purpose; there’s no need to be too flashy since I’m not lacking anything.” Ling Fei found it strange and realized Ye Qiu intentionally dressed that way.
“Weren’t you staying with your mom during the Spring Festival? How is she?” Although Ling Fei used to live with her mother, most of the time she stayed at school, except for elementary school; she lived at school during middle and high school. Every time she went home, her parents would argue, and fights might even break out.
Therefore, Ling Fei wasn’t entirely sure what her mother was thinking, why she couldn’t swallow her pride during arguments with her father. Perhaps as long as one of them relented, the situation might be better than now.
During the half-month of living with her mother, Ling Fei discovered that it wasn’t that her mother looked down on her father, but it was her father who didn’t value her mother.
Zhou Xiaolan felt Ling Zhengwei didn’t care about her; every Valentine’s Day, or important holiday, there was no dinner invitation, no bouquet of flowers.
In this regard, Zhou Xiaolan had a more open mindset, unlike Ling Zhengwei’s stubborn thinking.
The main problem was that Ling Zhengwei didn’t trust her. Regarding the rumors at the printing factory, he felt they were true. Trust is the foundation for two people to be together; without it, a relationship is impossible.
“How is your mom now?”
“She feels better than before, no more arguing, and no one’s judging her. Of course, there are quite a few people pursuing my mom now.”
Ling Fei said.
“So, are you planning to give up having your parents get back together?”
“Of course not. I still hope my parents can reconcile. They used to have feelings for each other; it’s just the lack of communication and trust that caused this.”
“I thought you wanted to give up. Actually, giving up is an option too. They’re both over 40; if they find someone who loves them, that’s good too. The issue is, if they both start new families, your situation might get a bit complicated.”
Although Ling Fei had grown up and didn’t fear a stepmother anymore,
it’s still something from the same family. If her parents start new families separately, they might not be able to take care of her. That’s not even the major concern; other complications might arise in the future.
“Ye Qiu, I know. That’s why I want them to reconcile. If they can’t, so be it.”
“There’s already good progress; no need to rush. Your parents will change. Tomorrow, I’ll go with you to their workplace to see how they’re doing now.”
The two stood by the Xuanwu Lake, feeling the breeze.
It was still after the Spring Festival, not quite early summer; the night was a bit chilly. Ye Qiu didn’t feel much, but Ling Fei, in her dress, seemed a bit cold.
When Ye Qiu moved closer to Ling Fei, putting an arm around her waist, Ling Fei seemed a bit embarrassed but didn’t refuse.
Until around nine at night, Ye Qiu said, “Go back and rest. I’m going back to bathe and rest. Tomorrow, we’ll look at the printing factory situation.”
“Hmm.”
When she felt most helpless, on the brink of despair, it was this guy who saved her. Ling Fei naturally knew she had already accepted Ye Qiu’s presence.
Apart from her father, undoubtedly, it was this guy who loved her the most.
After Ling Fei entered the teachers’ college, Ye Qiu got in the car and drove back to the Peach Blossom Spring Villa.
At the villa, he bathed and continued cultivation.
Early the next morning, Ye Qiu got up, washed, dressed, and went downstairs. Initially, he had two classes in the morning, but now that he was going with Ling Fei to the printing factory, he decided to skip them. Moreover, he had to continue Bernard’s treatment in the morning.
After having breakfast with his parents and sister, Ye Qiu drove to the vicinity of the teachers’ college entrance.
Arriving at the entrance, he called Ling Fei, who had been waiting for Ye Qiu, thinking he might have forgotten.
“Ye Qiu, I’m coming out now.”
Ling Fei had changed into a white dress, the one she wore after bathing last night, which complemented her looks and demeanor.
Getting into Ye Qiu’s car, he asked, “Don’t you have classes this morning?”
“I have two classes on professional ethics; I had a classmate request leave for me.”
