CHAPTER 49: A CRAVING

Nick’s POV

Watching Georgia’s reaction to my question was downright entertaining. Her eyes widened, brows contorted, and her lips parted in disbelief.

Like she couldn’t decide whether to laugh, scream, or faint. I live for those weird, expressive faces of hers. They pull me out of my darkness faster than anything else.

I had just asked her if she wanted to get married on this island, but judging by the explosion brewing in her eyes, my idea didn’t exactly align with hers.

"Absolutely not!" she snapped, nostrils flaring. "We don’t even know who owns this island, and do you know how expensive it is to fly in wedding stuff and people? Be serious, Nick!"

There she goes again—one second all soft and sweet, the next, a raging wildfire. And damn, I find it sexy as hell.

Before she transformed into a full-blown storm, I jumped in to clarify.

"I wasn’t talking about a big wedding. I meant a simple ceremony—just to make it official. We don’t know what Raymond will pull once he finds out you’re still breathing."

She stared at me, frown deepening as her brain worked through the suggestion.

"You mean... like, actually get married in the next few days? Before we leave?"

"Exactly."

I could see her weighing it. She was really listening, letting it sink in. That’s what I love about her—she gives me the space to speak, even when I sound insane. She hears me out, challenges me, questions me, and still respects me.

I don’t need to be someone else when I am in front of her. She lets me be me.

Georgia has this quiet strength, a calm wrapped in fire, and she makes room for me inside that fire without hesitation.

Every hour with her peels back another layer, and I swear—I’m getting addicted to discovering more.

"I’ve got a lawyer friend," I told her, my voice calm but firm. "I can ask him to get ordained and come here to marry us before we leave. He can handle all the paperwork—quietly."

She didn’t respond right away. Just sat there in the water, eyes distant, probably weighing the madness of it all. I didn’t push. Georgia’s impulsive, yeah, but she’s not reckless. She knows how to think when it counts.

Then she nodded, eyes focused. "Okay. Let’s do it. Finish washing. I’ll grab your blanket. We’ll head back to the cave, then I’ll message my sister."

She stood before I could react, her body glistening under the fading light. I took a breath and forced myself to turn around—before I did something reckless.

But I couldn’t help it. I glanced back.

There she was, running her fingers through her wet hair. Even from behind, she was temptation itself. My cock stirred again, aching for more, but I gritted my teeth and forced it down. If I take her again right now, I’d break her. She wouldn’t be able to walk for days.

What the hell is this woman doing to me?

No woman ever made me feel this way. I used to lose interest quickly—get bored, get out. But Georgia? She pulls me in like gravity. Being near her feels like coming home... even though I’ve never had one.

I walked back to where Georgia had left the blanket, grabbed it, then returned to the water. But the moment I saw her, I stopped in my tracks.

She was standing there—completely bare, wringing out her wet hair like it was the most natural thing in the world. Earlier, she was all shy, telling me to turn around before slipping into the water.

Now? She was facing me, boldly exposed, as if daring me to look. And fuck, I looked.

Droplets rolled down her body, tracing every curve I’d memorized with my hands and mouth. Her breasts, so soft yet full, were just the right size for my grip. Her waist narrowed perfectly before flaring into those damn sinful hips.

And between her thighs... God. That freshly waxed, glistening pussy—I could still taste her on my tongue.

I nearly groaned.

My fists clenched around the blanket. She was mine. I was the first to touch her, to worship her body. Not Raymond. Thank fuck not him.

That shady bastard who used to be my friend surely doesn’t deserve someone like Georgia. Not even close.

He had his chance and blew it. Maybe it was fate that Georgia saw his true colors before it was too late. A blessing, disguised in heartbreak. Because now she’s here—with me. And I swear to everything, I’m never letting her go.

Georgia turned, sensing my gaze. For a second, I thought she’d scold me for staring—but instead, she smiled. That damn smile. Playful. Bold. Like she knew exactly what she was doing to me.

She started walking toward me, but I moved first, remembering how weak her legs were earlier. I rushed to her and wrapped the blanket around her soaked body before turning my back to her.

"Hop on," I said, crouching slightly. "I’ll carry you back to the cave. We’ll grab the bag and the wet blanket on the way."

She didn’t even hesitate. She jumped onto my back, her arms tightening around my neck and her thighs locking around my waist. And gods—her breasts pressed against my bare back, warm and soft. I was still naked. Still sensitive. My cock twitched in response, begging for more.

Shit.

I forced myself to think of anything else. Numbers. Dead fish. War documentaries. Anything to keep from losing it again.

This wasn’t normal for me. I’ve been with women—plenty of them—but none of them made me feel like this. With Georgia, it wasn’t just lust. It was hunger. Obsession.

A craving that didn’t go away even after I’d tasted her again and again. It was like I couldn’t get full, no matter how many times I had her.

She was becoming an addiction I didn’t know how to control... and I wasn’t sure I even wanted to.

This woman will be the death of me someday, and I’ll gladly die for her.
