Aurora’s POV

When I reached the main hallway, I realized that the house was actually bigger than I first imagined it to be. It wasrge, sitting on arge expanse ofnd with several huge doors leading on either side of the wide hallway, but they all appeared locked shut.

1 walked further into the house, following behind Harmona and soon, I came to a grand staircase with ornate furniture and a grand chandelier and I realized that this house was indeed a mansion Whoever designed this building had paid particr attention to even the most minute details, making it a pure work of art, not easily seen anywhere else. The beauty of all the interior was enough to make me swoon because never in my life had I seen something as grand, but the reality of my situation quickly came crashing down on me as Harmona cleared her throat, urging me to follow her once again.

Harmona took me down the grand spiral stairs and to a huge dining room which I would’ve admired if I hadn’t been busy sketching out escape routes. However, the grand setup and the ornate furniture didn’t really seem to belong to the psychopath that I was learning was my father. How could it? As grand as it all was…it just didn’t seem to suit his demeanor.

I looked around at the living room just a few feet away. There was arge set of double doors right at the very end that seemed to be bolted shut. Even the windows were all shut out and instead of using electricity; the source of illumination in this house seemed to be candles and chandeliers. It was surprising since my room had electricity, but everything else seemed to be from another time entirely.

As we neared the dining table, I realized that there were four other children at the table already seated and waiting. And what’s worse was that they all shared simr looks with me, which immediately had me feeling worried.

What exactly was going on? Does it mean I had siblings I didn’t know of? The more I thought about it, the more confused I became and I knew I needed to find an answer to this mystery before I lost my mind.

Lucas approached me with that easygoing smile of his, the one that made it seem like everything was fine, like this wasn’t an awkward situation where I was about to meet a group of strangers with simr features after begin abducted by some kind of a crazy psycho.

“Aurora,e on, let me introduce you to the rest of the family,” he said, nodding toward the seats ahead. I hesitated for half a second before following him, my fingers twitching slightly at my sides. I didn’t like new people. I didn’t like the uncertainty of it, the expectations, the unspoken judgments. But here I was, and there was no choice but to do as Lucas said.

The moment I sat down, I felt their eyes on me. Not in an unkind way, but with caution-like they weren’t sure what to expect from me either. Lucas gestured toward the boy first, a young man who bore an undeniable resemnce to him. Same sharp jawline, same striking green eyes, though his were slightly darker, more intense. “This is Ashton,” Lucas introduced. “He’s the eldest. And he’s a full witch.”

Ashton gave me a single nod, his gaze assessing, measuring me up. “You’re Aurora,” he stated, not a question, but a confirmation

    I met his gaze head-on. “I am.”

Something flickered in his expression, approval maybe, but he didn’t say more. Lucas, undeterred by the tension, turned his attention to the girls. “That’s Maggie” he said, motioning to the blonde girl who looked about sixteen. She gave me a small smile, but it didn’t quite reach her eyes, like she was trying to be poter tout mour’t sure if she should be “And Avery,” Lucas continued, pointing at the redhead beside Maggie. Unlike her, Avery’s green eyes were sharpen mouse wary, though she didn’t look away from me.
