CHAPTER 101: FUTURE YOUNG MISTRESS?

Xue Cong glanced over at Liu Shi Shi with a perturbed look.

"Just give them a beating they wouldn’t forget if they dare defy you or give you any trouble," Liu Shi Shi said and held up her hand clenched into a fist.

"I wish I could..." Xue Cong said and gave out a sigh.

She wasn’t like Liu Shi Shi.

All her life, she had been brought up by her mother to be demure and listen to others.

And on top of that, she wasn’t skilled in martial arts like Liu Shi Shi.

"It’s easy after the first time. Everything is easy once you’ve tried it once." Liu Shi Shi shrugged her shoulders and said.

"Xue Cong, me help." Zhi Yong, who was also in the main hall, thumped his chest at Xue Cong and said.

"Thanks, but I would be worried for them instead," Xue Cong shook her head and said.

Zhi Yong was much stronger than an average man.

If he dealt out the punishments, he might kill the offending person instead.

She sighed and thought about Lin Xuan Qi.

He would have an idea if he was around.

But she knew that she had to buckle up and be able to manage the household for him.

With him getting busy, it was not possible for him to be around to tell her what to do every time there was an issue.

She had to get better by herself.

Yue Jie came over to her and placed her hand across Xue Cong’s shoulder.

"You are more than capable of it.

"I still remember how you’ve guided us when we just joined, not knowing anything about doing household chores.

"But look at us now," she said and gave a huge smile to Xue Cong, trying to console her.

"Thanks. I will try my best." Xue Cong felt the warmth from Yue Jie, both literally and figuratively, and she nodded her head at Yue Jie.

Yue Jie had been more like a caring big sister to her.

"And if you can’t handle it, Master Lin will always be there to back you up," Yue Jie said while she patted the back of Xue Cong.

Xue Cong nodded her head.

"I’m home." A familiar voice stopped their conversation.

Lin Xuan Qi stood at the wooden gates of the mansion.

He entered through them and waved at the men and women behind him.

They followed, and their eyes and mouths opened wide when they saw the interior of the mansion.

Outside the wooden gates, they were already in awe at its long stretching wall.

What was inside surprised them even more.

It was the largest property they’d ever seen.

Some of them thought that it might be as big as the imperial palace in the capital city.

Lin Xuan Qi led them to the main hall and said, "Come in."

He walked over to where Liu Shi Shi was and sat beside her.

By now, Liu Shi Shi had gotten over what happened between him and her, so she didn’t think much about it.

He glanced over at the men and women and said, "These are your seniors.

"They will help me manage all of you.

"Make sure that you listen to their instructions, or else it’s back to the slave brokerage you go."

"Yes, Master Lin." The men and women quickly bowed and said.

No one in their right mind would want to go back to that dark and depressing place.

"This is Xue Cong..."

Lin Xuan Qi went on and introduced Xue Cong, Yue Jie, Yue Xin and Zhi Yong to the newly joined men and women.

They greeted them one after another.

Their gaze stopped at Liu Shi Shi, wondering who she was.

Seeing that Liu Shi Shi was sitting in her seat instead of standing like Xue Cong and the others, they figured that she must have been the young mistress.

"Is that our young mistress?" One of them asked.

Lin Xuan Qi nearly spat out the tea he had in his mouth.

He swallowed the mouthful of tea and placed his teacup onto the table.

"What, young mistress? No, she isn’t. She is one of the security team," Lin Xuan Qi said.

Liu Shi Shi frowned at how quick his response was.

What do you mean by that? Am I not worthy of it?

She thought silently to herself.

"Well, who knows in the future? You are, after all, so talented, handsome and young," Liu Shi Shi said out of spite to Lin Xuan Qi.

Then there was dead silence.

Her face turned pale at the realization of what she had done.

She had wanted to dig a hole in the ground and hide inside it.

But it was too late for her to take back her words.

Her mind blanked out, and she could only feel the burning sensation on her face and ears.

If she had a mirror there and then, she would be able to see that she was flushing red like a crab.

Lin Xuan Qi was also caught by surprise.

He knew that she was mischievous and liked to play pranks at times, but he didn’t expect her to proclaim her interest in him out in the open.

Xue Cong, Yue Jie and Yue Xin also didn’t expect it.

Out of them, Xue Cong felt her heart skip a beat, but she felt better when she saw Lin Xuan Qi’s expression, which was equally shocked like hers.

That meant that they had nothing to do with each other.

For now, at least.

Yue Jie wasn’t as shocked as she knew what the young masters were like.

It was a miracle to her that Lin Xuan Qi did not have any tong fang servant girl so far.

Yue Xin, on the other hand, didn’t think much but felt that Yue Jie should be more outgoing and make the first move like Liu Shi Shi.

"Ahem." After he regained his composure, Lin Xuan Qi shook his head and said, "No, she is part of the security team.

"There will be more of them joining us tomorrow."

"Yes, I meant that," Liu Shi Shi interjected, trying to make everyone forget what she had said.

"Yes, Master Lin." The men and women didn’t know exactly what was going on, but they knew that it was best for them to keep quiet.

Best for them to not know what they shouldn’t.

Lin Xuan Qi nodded his head and said, "They may look young, but they have been with me for a long time. All of you better not try and take advantage of them."
