CHAPTER 59: FIRST BARBEQUE

The eyes of the other mistresses brightened up, and they nodded at Zhang Jie.

"Yeah. It’s common to have a little misunderstanding here and there."

"Don’t worry, it will not happen again."

"I’ll ask my husband whether he has something for Sima Long in his side of the business."

They tried to play nicely and hoped to get what they wanted.

Their eyes followed Zhang Jie’s hand, picking up her teacup and bringing it up to her mouth.

They waited as she took a sip of the tea and placed the teacup down onto the tabletop.

"Nice tea." Zhang Jie gave out a satisfying sigh and said, "I’ve got some more of the soap if you want. But..."

"But what?" The other mistresses asked eagerly.

"These are samples from my husband’s friend. It wouldn’t be nice of me to give them all out." Zhang Jie said and shrugged, pretending to feel sorry about it.

The other mistresses nodded their heads and said, "Sure, we understand. It would be a bad look on us to take advantage of your husband’s friend."

Zhang Jie sighed and said, "Thanks for the understanding, but I might have to charge you a few taels of silver for it."

"A few taels of silver?" The other mistresses opened their eyes wide and exclaimed.

They grinned and quickly said, "That’s not an issue."

Money wasn’t a problem for them if the soap would give them an advantage over those bitches eyeing to seduce their husbands outside.

"Then, it’s a deal." Zhang Jie smiled and glanced at her servant girl.

Her servant girl bowed and brought out all the soap that Lin Xuan Qi gave.

The other mistresses saw it and some of them couldn’t wait anymore; they stood up and tried to grab one away from the servant girl.

"Hey, that’s mine!"

"No, I saw it first."

"Let go, you are too old, and nothing can save you."

Zhang Jie looked on and shook her head at the commotion in front of her.

She knew that these young mistresses wouldn’t keep it to themselves.

They would certainly boast and show off to their close friends and even their enemies.

The soap would make waves very soon.

Zhang Jie took a deep breath as she did what she could.

The rest was now up to Sima Long and Lin Xuan Qi.

Lin Xuan Qi walked like a breeze and whistled a tune.

He had never felt so relieved for so long.

He and Lee He Song shopped for a while before going back to the mansion.

It was a great occasion for a good meal.

One thing he missed from back home was barbeque and so he bought plenty of lamb and beef for dinner.

When he got back to the mansion, he was surprised to see Xue Cong, Yue Jie and Yue Xin sitting on the ground tired.

And Liu Shi Shi was standing beside them with her arms crossed.

They were drenched in sweat and their clothes stuck to their bodies.

Lin Xuan Qi couldn’t help but glance at them.

Xue Cong was perfectly proportioned.

Her long slender legs and body were just right.

And beside her was Yue Jie whom he had underestimated for so long.

Yue Jie’s breasts were visible with her shirt closely hugging them.

They were much bigger than he had ever noticed.

As for Yue Xin, she was just like your girl next door, with her petite build.

A huge contrast with her sister.

Liu Shi Shi was different, with a more mature body.

Her hips and her slim waist made his imagination run wild for a moment.

Lin Xuan Qi feasted on the sight, but it was short-lived.

Xue Cong, Yue Jie, and Yue Xin stood up and bowed at him.

"What happened? Why are all of you drenched in sweat?" he asked.

"We...er..." Xue Cong couldn’t think of anything by being ’caught’ so suddenly.

She glanced at Yue Jie and Yue Xin for help.

Yue Xin stood forward and said, "We were trying to clear the pond and clean up the garden once and for all."

"Yeah, we were trying to do that." Xue Cong and Yue Jie nodded their heads and said in unison.

"Oh, the garden...." Lin Xuan Qi glanced over at the garden still messy with the pond still dry and growing with weeds.

He didn’t think much about it, shook his head and said, "I will find professional help to clear it up, don’t bother about it for now."

He raised his hands holding the lamb and beef he had bought.

Xue Cong and Yue Jie quickly came forward and took it from him.

"Don’t do anything to the lamb and beef. We shall have something different tonight."

"Something different?"

"Yes, where is Zhi Yong?" Lin Xuan Qi asked.

Zhi Yong quickly came out from the main hall.

"Come with me." He said and Zhi Yong followed him behind.

Xue Cong, Yue Jie and Yue Xin quickly scattered and went on to do their daily chores.

Lin Xuan Qi also asked Old Shao to help him.

He found an open area and started to lay some bricks that weren’t used in the mansion.

He stacked the bricks, and he instructed Zhi Yong to use the soil and mix it with water.

And with the mud, Zhi Yong covered the gaps of the bricks.

Then, Lin Xuan Qi asked Old Shao to craft some support to put the skewers.

Fortunately, there were some metal sheets in the mansion that could be cut down and used for it.

He himself collected branches from the trees in the mansion and started to make some wooden skewers out of them.

It wasn’t perfect but they would do for now.

He took the skewers into the kitchen.

Mei Jiao was surprised when she saw him enter the kitchen.

"Master Lin, it’s messy and dirty here. Best if you just let us know what you want."

Lin Xuan Qi frowned and said, "Don’t worry. I’ve seen worse in my life. It’s fun for me to use my hands to do something anyway."

"Yes, Master Lin.... if you insist."

"Just stand beside me and help when I ask." Lin Xuan Qi said.

It made Mei Jiao feel better and she bowed at him.
