CHAPTER 499: CHAPTER 499: IF YOU REALLY FEEL HUNGRY, YOU CAN BITE ME TO SATISFY YOUR CRAVING

Ji Wei leaned over the toilet and vomited uncontrollably. Since she hadn’t eaten much, she felt as though her stomach was being turned inside out.

She found it odd; she’d caught colds before, but had never vomited this badly.

Mo Qian stood behind her, looking at the woman crouched there, vomiting until the world seemed to spin, his heart tightening painfully as though he were experiencing it himself.

At the same time, a shocking thought popped into his head—could his Weiwei be pregnant?

Seeing Ji Wei finally stop vomiting, he quickly walked over and handed her the glass of water he was holding. "Are you still feeling terrible?"

Ji Wei rinsed her mouth with the water and gave him a pale smile. "I’m feeling better now."

Seeing her bloodless face, Mo Qian pressed his thin lips together and his eyes were full of concern.

He carefully scooped her up into his arms. "Let me take you to the hospital, okay?"

Mo Qian’s voice was so tender it almost felt like it could drip water.

Ji Wei gave a faint smile and said, "It’s so late already. I think it’s just an upset stomach and a bit of a cold."

Mo Qian stared at her for a long moment before suddenly speaking. "Weiwei, do you really think it’s just a cold?"

"What else could it be?"

Just as she finished speaking, she sneezed and sniffled. "See, I’m not lying to you."

Mo Qian placed her gently on the soft bed, removed his coat, and draped it over her. "I can’t stop worrying."

Ji Wei looked at the man’s serious expression, her heart growing tender. After a moment, she nodded in compromise, "Alright, let’s go to the hospital."

The Maybach sped through the night.

While waiting at a traffic light, Ji Wei caught the scent of barbecue wafting in from a roadside stall and suddenly felt a craving.

A few skewers of roasted chicken wings and grilled fish, sprinkled with chili powder and green onions—that would be a heavenly feast.

Noticing the swallowing motion of the woman in his arms, Mo Qian couldn’t help but pause for a moment. Following her gaze, he saw the roadside barbecue stall.

"Hungry?"

Her stomach had been growling for ages, though after vomiting she didn’t have much appetite.

But oddly enough, seeing spicy food made her want to eat.

Ji Wei looked up with her damp eyes brimming with expectation and nodded. "Mm... I’m really hungry."

Seeing the woman’s pitifully hungry expression, Mo Qian’s thin lips curved into a slight smile, his clear voice sounding. "Old Xu, pull over here."

As soon as she got out of the car, Ji Wei couldn’t wait to run toward the barbecue stall.

"Boss, I’ll take ten skewers of roasted chicken wings, four skewers of grilled fish, and some roasted eggplant and potatoes! Oh, and make sure to sprinkle extra green onions!" Ji Wei excitedly pointed at the food skewered in front of her and said.

Back when she was in school, she often snuck out to the night market stalls, which was why she was so familiar with everything now.

Having not eaten at one for so long, Ji Wei stared fixedly at the vendor grilling food once she placed her order. Her adorable, eager expression made Mo Qian chuckle despite himself.

Turns out his Weiwei was a little glutton.

"Come here."

On a chilly early winter night, Mo Qian’s warm, large hand firmly wrapped around Ji Wei’s small hand and led her over to sit down.

Ji Wei’s gaze remained fixed on the fish sizzling on the grill as she instinctively licked her lips.

Mo Qian caught each of her small actions and pulled her onto his lap. "If you’re really hungry, you can bite me to curb your craving for now."

Ji Wei raised her head at his words, only to meet his deep, jet-black eyes brimming with laughter, captivating enough to make her heart skip a beat.

"No... no, thank you."

Ji Wei blushed furiously, lowering her head in embarrassment.

There were other people sitting at nearby tables; she didn’t want an audience.

Mo Qian cupped her hands in his, blowing warm air onto them, the misty white vapor floating between them carrying his uniquely clean and elegant scent.

His hands wrapped hers tightly, though the backs of his hands were already reddened from the cold.

Ji Wei’s eyes turned warm, and she lowered her head abruptly, leaving a gentle kiss on the back of Mo Qian’s hand.
