CHAPTER 630: CHAPTER 630: WAS SHE WRONG FOR CARING ABOUT HIM?

Ji Wei heard the conversation of the store employees and immediately felt a jolt in her heart. She quickly squeezed her way out of the shop.

When she pushed through the crowd, she saw Mo Qian lifting his foot, swiftly and precisely kicking one of the thugs in the chest. The thug crumpled to the ground, groaning in pain and unable to get up.

Another thug, seeing this, tried to rush forward to help, but Mo Qian’s sharp, icy glare froze him in place.

The thugs all knew who Mo Qian was and, intimidated by his reputation and status, didn’t dare make another move.

"Brother Nanfeng, I’m so sorry. It’s all my fault you got hurt..." Qin Sixue hurriedly helped Xi Nanfeng up from the ground. When she noticed the blood at the corner of his mouth, her heart ached so much she was on the verge of tears.

Because of Xi Nanfeng’s attitude during their last encounter at Shanshui Manor, their relationship had been strained lately. In truth, it was Xi Nanfeng who had taken the initiative to invite her out shopping today.

But as luck would have it, while she was in the restroom, she encountered these thugs harassing her.

"My skin’s as thick as leather—this kind of wound is nothing! Don’t cry, you look really ugly when you cry!" Xi Nanfeng nonchalantly raised a hand to touch the split skin on the corner of his mouth, but the pain made him suck in a sharp breath.

"You’re just being tough. It obviously hurts!" Qin Sixue, her eyes red, stared at his wound and choked out the words.

Xi Nanfeng frowned and then started scratching his head out of habit.

"Arrest these people immediately!" The head of the security team, having rushed over after hearing about the incident, gave orders to the group behind him right away.

The thugs, seeing this, turned and tried to flee.

A group of security guards immediately chased after them.

The security chief plastered a smile on his face as he made his way to Mo Qian, nodding and bowing obsequiously. "Mr. Gu, I’m terribly sorry we arrived late and almost let you and Second Young Master Xi get hurt."

Mo Qian snorted coldly. "Oh? Or was it because one of the thugs happens to be President Zou’s younger brother, and you didn’t dare come?"

Exposed by Mo Qian’s cutting remark, the security chief’s face instantly turned pale as he stammered, trembling, "Mr. Gu, you’ve misunderstood. As soon as we received the report, we rushed over immediately. It’s just that the mall is crowded on weekends and the elevators were jammed, so we were delayed."

Mo Qian couldn’t be bothered to argue with the security chief any further. He intended to deal with President Zou directly.

He walked over to Xi Nanfeng and clapped him on the shoulder, teasing, "Old Xi, do you need a trip to the hospital for an X-ray? Internal injuries need to be treated promptly."

"You’re the one with internal injuries!" Xi Nanfeng shot back immediately. "I’ve been in fights for years without ever setting foot in a hospital—it’s always my opponents who get carried out horizontally."

Qin Sixue tugged worriedly on his sleeve. "Brother Nanfeng, please go to the hospital. I’m really worried..."

She had just seen one of the thugs ruthlessly kick Xi Nanfeng in the stomach. At that moment, his face had gone completely pale.

"I already said I’m not going!" Xi Nanfeng impatiently jerked his sleeve away, shouting so loudly that Qin Sixue went silent. She bit her lip, looking deeply hurt and upset.

"Mo Qian, are you hurt?"

Ji Wei pushed through the crowd to get to him, anxiously tugging Mo Qian around to check his condition. Only after confirming he was uninjured did she breathe a sigh of relief.

"Didn’t I tell you to stay put and wait for me? What are you doing out here?" Mo Qian frowned. With so many people around, what if she got bumped into?

"You rushed out to fight—how could I just stand by and do nothing?" Ji Wei retorted, a trace of anger in her tone.

Was it wrong for her to be worried about him?

Mo Qian was taken aback. With the crowd still watching, now wasn’t the time to argue.

"Let’s leave here first." He grabbed Ji Wei’s hand and started walking away.

Xi Nanfeng and Qin Sixue followed closely behind.

Even after the group had walked off, the onlookers were still abuzz with excitement.

"I never expected Mr. Gu to be so skilled. The way he dealt with those thugs just now was so impressive! It had me fired up watching him!"

"Second Young Master Xi isn’t weak either. Taking on four opponents at once, and he didn’t really lose ground."

"Ah, what a shame. These two most outstanding men in Rongcheng already have their hearts set on someone else..."
