CHAPTER 631: CHAPTER 631: A GIRL COMES TO BUY MEN’S ITEMS
In the parking lot.
"Not getting in?" Mo Qian opened the car door, but Ji Wei stood there motionless. He turned back, raised an eyebrow, and asked her in a deep voice.
Ji Wei’s gaze lingered on his hand hanging at his side for a moment before pulling back. His knuckles had split open and his skin had scraped, with thin lines of blood oozing from the wounds because he had swung his fists too forcefully earlier. But he seemed completely unaware of it.
She frowned slightly, looking at him calmly and said, "I’ll go to the pharmacy first."
"What are you going to the pharmacy for?" Mo Qian reached out to grab her hand, but she dodged him. "Are you mad at me?"
Indeed, she was a bit angry.
But more than being angry, she wanted to go buy antiseptic swabs and band-aids to treat his wounds.
"The pharmacy’s just upstairs. I’ll be back shortly." Ji Wei finished speaking and turned towards the elevator without waiting for Mo Qian’s response.
Mo Qian felt somewhat stifled, his dark eyes fixating on her retreating figure until she disappeared into the elevator.
"Old Mo, aren’t you going to coax her? Looks like Ji Xiaowei is really upset." Xi Nanfeng walked over, speaking while the wound inside his mouth throbbed. He bared his teeth in pain.
Mo Qian pressed his thin lips together without saying a word, and his gaze remained unreadable.
"Brother Nanfeng, I’ll head to the pharmacy and get you some medicine too." Qin Sixue had overheard Ji Wei’s words earlier. Thinking Xi Nanfeng didn’t want to go to the hospital, she figured it was better to buy medicine for him to apply at least.
Leaning against the car door, Mo Qian was just about to put his hand into his suit pocket to take out his phone. As his hand brushed against the fabric, a sharp pang of pain flared in his knuckles. He bowed his head, only then noticing the scrapes on his hand, the dried blood already crusting over the wound.
At that moment, Qin Sixue’s earlier words suddenly triggered a realization within him, his deep eyes freezing in place.
Ji Wei said she was going to the pharmacy—was it because of the wounds on his knuckles?
"This kind of injury is nothing. I don’t—"
Xi Nanfeng’s rebuttal hadn’t finished when Qin Sixue cut him off abruptly, "I’ll be back shortly!"
With that, the little woman darted towards the elevator.
When Qin Sixue entered the pharmacy, she saw Ji Wei at the cash register finishing her purchase. The two exchanged a glance and shared a knowing smile.
"Si Xue, I’ve bought ointment for Second Young Master Xi—you don’t need to grab anything for him now." Ji Wei lifted the shopping bag in her hand.
Qin Sixue nodded appreciatively, "Thank you, Sister Wei." Then she hesitated, her expression slightly awkward, gesturing toward the shelves. "I... I want to grab something else as well..."
"I’ll wait for you outside," Ji Wei said with a small smile.
"Alright."
Only after confirming that Ji Wei had left the pharmacy did Qin Sixue hasten toward the shelves, searching intently for something.
A clerk noticed her and enthusiastically approached to ask, "Miss, is there a specific medicine you’re looking for? I’d be happy to assist."
Qin Sixue’s face flushed instantaneously. She bit her lip, her gaze darting away as she hesitated for a few seconds before summoning her courage to speak, "I... I need a box of condoms."
The words left her lips, and Qin Sixue quickly cupped her burning cheeks with her hands.
For her, a woman buying something meant for men felt unbearably embarrassing.
The clerk, however, was unphased, clearly accustomed to the request. Without even a hint of ridicule, she smiled and said, "Please wait a moment while I get that for you."
Qin Sixue nodded, still unable to meet the clerk’s eyes.
Ji Wei waited outside for a while, and when she saw Qin Sixue walk out, she noticed that Si Xue had hidden her purchase behind her back, seeming reluctant to let her see.
"Let’s go." Ji Wei, not particularly curious, merely smiled at her.
Qin Sixue returned the smile, her face still glowing red, and followed behind her.
Her heart pounded like a drum, a chaotic rhythm echoing within her.
