Ji Wei stood protectively in front of her belly, shielding Qin Sixue behind her as she glared at the yellow-haired thug with a bruised and swollen face in front of her.

When Zou Kai stretched out a hand to touch Qin Sixue’s smooth, delicate face, Ji Wei coldly swatted it away without hesitation before he could even make contact. "Get your filthy hand off!"

Ji Wei frowned and reprimanded sharply, her eyes flashing with cold menace.

Regaining his composure, and feeling embarrassed that he had been cowed by a pregnant woman, he feigned a ferocious demeanor and shouted, "Damn it, even a pregnant woman dares to meddle in my business? Get lost!"

He raised his hand, ready to shove Ji Wei, but she had already prepared and swiftly sidestepped. With an icy smile on her lips, she stared him down and said, "It seems my husband didn’t beat you badly enough last time. You’ve still got the energy to bark like a dog here."

"You dare insult me? You’re asking for it!"

Zou Kai was thoroughly enraged by Ji Wei’s words and raised his fist, ready to swing it at her. But before he could strike, another thug standing next to him quickly grabbed his arm mid-air.

The thug leaned in close to Zou Kai’s ear and whispered, "Brother Kai, this lady is Mr. Gu’s wife, the Ji Family’s daughter. We can’t afford to cross her..."

Ji Wei guarded Qin Sixue closely, retreating step by step, her whole body on high alert.
