Cold War between Mr. and Mrs Vaughn: He Regretted when Divorce
Chapter 32: What Eugene Vaughn Intentionally Hid
CHAPTER 32: CHAPTER 32: WHAT EUGENE VAUGHN INTENTIONALLY HID
Eugene Vaughn obviously didn’t expect Victoria Sinclair to show up here.
She’s introverted, doesn’t like socializing, and even less inclined to attend gatherings. Yet today, she uncharacteristically came.
Victoria Sinclair looked at him, and in that moment of eye contact, their already distant relationship seemed even more unfamiliar.
Eugene withdrew his gaze, greeted a nearby classmate, and turned to walk over in this direction.
Charlie Spencer couldn’t help but tease, "I never thought your wife and her friend are both our alumni, and from the same year. Eugene, you’ve hidden this way too well."
Miles Shaw nudged Charlie with his elbow, "Have you ever heard him mention anything about his wife?"
Eugene’s gaze landed on Victoria’s gloomy face, and he spoke calmly, "If I’d known you’d be here, I would have given you a ride."
Victoria forced a faint, strained smile, "What a coincidence, I didn’t expect us to be alumni."
Eugene smiled but stayed silent, his deep eyes exuding an enigmatic mystery.
The seemingly distant relationship was portrayed so naturally.
Angela Austin couldn’t resist asking, "Eugene, Victoria and I were inseparable during college for four years, but we never saw you two. In college, did we really not know each other?"
"We didn’t know each other," Eugene answered gently.
"Then you and Victoria really have some fate," Angela murmured to herself: It’s just a shame it’s a twisted fate.
Charlie added, "Sterling is so big, with so many people, it’s not easy to know everyone."
At this moment, a couple holding hands walked over; it was Eugene’s old classmate, Wayne Lombard, and his girlfriend, Cathy.
They exchanged a few pleasantries.
Victoria and Angela stood to the side, appearing somewhat out of place.
Eugene suddenly reached out his hand, calmly introducing, "My wife, Victoria Sinclair, and this is her friend Angela Austin, both from the Pharmacy Department."
Wayne politely greeted Victoria, who felt her cheeks warm and responded awkwardly.
In two years of marriage, Eugene had never formally introduced her to his friends; this act made her a bit uncomfortable.
Charlie remarked, "Four years out of college, all of you have achieved success in both career and love; it’s truly enviable."
Just then, someone shouted from behind, "Angela, Victoria!"
The two turned around to see their former department friends waving to them.
"Let’s go over for a bit," Victoria hurriedly said, pulling Angela to escape the awkward scene.
After moving away from Eugene and the others, Victoria and Angela breathed a sigh of relief and caught up with other old classmates.
Later, the two slowly moved to a corner, with Angela’s gaze falling on Miles not far away. She whispered, "Victoria, you’ve been married to Eugene for two years but still sleep in separate rooms. Could he be gay, and you’ve been tricked into a sham marriage?"
Victoria gave a bitter smile, "I’ve suspected, but there’s no evidence."
"Isn’t that evidence?" Angela stared at Miles, "Look at his friend Miles Shaw; that face is even prettier than a woman’s."
Victoria shook her head, "Intuition isn’t evidence."
At this moment, the event in front was getting lively, with everyone participating in a three-legged race competition. Charlie and Miles were tied in a team, stumbling as they ran, causing everyone to laugh heartily.
Victoria and Angela stood in the corner, as if in another world, quietly watching the others’ excitement.
Angela kept eyeing Miles and whispered, "To me, he looks like a bottom."
Suddenly, Miles came over with a small first-place trophy, panting, "Sis-in-law, you’re up for the next event."
Victoria was taken aback and nervously asked, "I didn’t sign up for anything!"
"I think it’s the Mind Reader game; couples and married pairs are participating in it."
Victoria’s expression changed, and she frantically shook her head, "I’m not participating!"
Miles handed the trophy to Angela, smirking, "For you."
Angela looked bewildered, "Why are you giving it to me?"
"You’ve been secretly watching me. If you want my WeChat, just ask directly, no need to be shy."
Angela was so embarrassed she wanted to find a hole to crawl into and quickly grabbed Victoria as a shield, "Victoria, your turn to participate in the game, hurry up!"
Victoria resisted desperately and muttered angrily, "Angela, I’m not participating! I don’t want to!"
