Cold War between Mr. and Mrs Vaughn: He Regretted when Divorce
Chapter 60: Uncle Applies for a Job at Victoria Sinclair’s Company
CHAPTER 60: CHAPTER 60: UNCLE APPLIES FOR A JOB AT VICTORIA SINCLAIR’S COMPANY
During the drug conference these days, Victoria Sinclair was overwhelmed, leaving early and returning late, busy to the point of exhaustion.
Eugene Vaughn was busy too.
The two of them staggered their schedules to come home and leave, never even catching sight of each other.
Once Victoria got through this busy spell, the company’s business showed improvement, but sales were still lacking. She decided to hire two more salespeople.
She posted the job online, but most applicants were recent graduates with no sales experience or pharmaceutical studies.
Being a small company, they didn’t have the funds or time to train newcomers, so they couldn’t find anyone suitable.
On the afternoon of the third day after posting the job, a man showed up at the company.
It was Angela who interviewed him.
Upon seeing him, her first impression was handsome, roguish, giving off the vibe of an irresponsible rich kid, slightly resembling Eugene Vaughn, but not much.
Seeing the name: Ethan Vaughn, she was even more certain of his identity.
"Not suitable." Angela handed the resume back to him.
Ethan smirked coldly, took the resume, immediately turned around, left the office, and began searching room by room.
Angela panicked and chased after him, "What are you doing? The exit is that way; inside is a restricted laboratory area, outsiders can’t enter. Please leave."
Ethan ignored her, stubbornly pressing on. Through the glass of one room, he saw Victoria Sinclair inside, arrogantly pushing the door open and going in directly.
Angela rebuked angrily, "If you don’t leave, I’ll call the police."
Never seen a man so shameless and persistent.
Victoria Sinclair was startled, looking up at him.
Ethan approached her, a slight smile on his lips, handing her the resume, "Victoria Sinclair, I want to work at your company."
Victoria Sinclair looked at Angela in bewilderment.
Angela was furious, hands on her hips, gasping as she explained, "I’ve already rejected him. I don’t know if he has ear problems or a mental illness."
Victoria responded calmly, "Uncle, you’re not suitable."
Ethan supported himself with one hand on the desk, leaned closer, and whispered, "I’m the most suitable for this position. I will use my dad and brother’s connections and resources. I can help your small company grow strong and directly go public."
Angela snorted contemptuously, laughed in anger.
Naive arrogance, self-important,
Victoria didn’t want Ethan to stay in her lab. She washed her hands, took off her mask, and headed out.
Ethan followed behind her, "Victoria Sinclair, with my help, you’ll accomplish more with less effort."
"This isn’t a place for your antics."
"I’m not playing around; I’m serious."
"And I’m serious about refusing you."
Angela followed behind them.
Victoria led him to the door, gesturing for him to leave, "Please don’t come to my company in the future."
Ethan raised an eyebrow, licked the corner of his mouth with a hint of roguish elegance, looked up and took a deep breath, dissatisfied yet unwilling, paused for a while, then stepped in front of Victoria and asked in a lowered voice, "Victoria Sinclair, when are you going to divorce my brother?"
Angela vaguely heard these words, got angry with arms akimbo, realizing he liked his sister-in-law! Couldn’t help muttering, "Crazy."
Victoria suppressed her feelings, "Why should I divorce your brother?"
Ethan approached, and Victoria hurriedly stepped back.
He advanced step by step, unhurried, a playful glint in his eyes, "I never understood why, with your beauty and good character, my brother doesn’t like you, keeps you distant, neglects you, until I discovered his twisted secrets. I became even more certain that he’d never touched you. Victoria Sinclair, you can’t live in a sexless marriage; leave him and be with me."
Victoria stared at him in shock, forced back against the wall, her heart weighed down like a heavy stone, suffocating her as she nervously asked, "What twisted secrets does he have?"
Ethan supported himself with one hand on the wall, looking down at her, "You don’t need to know what secrets these are. Anyway, he will never touch you in his lifetime; you should withdraw from this marriage soon. Consider me. I have everything Eugene Vaughn has. If you want me to be as mature and steady as him, then I won’t play around, but help you, or go back and take charge of the business."
Victoria felt her scalp tingle, realizing Eugene Vaughn didn’t touch her not just because he didn’t love her, but for other reasons.
Her heart was aching, her nose feeling sour.
Tears welled up in her eyes, she tried hard to suppress her sad emotions, "Tell me, what secret is he hiding? If you tell me, then I’ll divorce him."
Ethan squinted his deep eyes, pondered for a moment, shook his head, "You can’t know, otherwise you won’t want to leave."
"Why wouldn’t I? Aren’t your words contradictory?"
"Victoria Sinclair, don’t play word games with me; it’s pointless."
Shameless!
Victoria turned to leave.
Ethan supported her with his other hand as well, trapping Victoria between his arms.
Victoria pressed her body tightly against the wall, fists clenched, her voice tinged with anger, "Please move."
"Victoria Sinclair, I don’t want to use force with you. I’ve been waiting for you, but don’t keep me waiting too long. I..." Ethan’s words weren’t finished as Angela pushed him with a heavy and urgent force, causing Ethan to stagger sideways, nearly falling.
Victoria quickly ran behind Angela, watching Ethan guardedly.
Angela put her hands on her hips, gritted her teeth, and angrily cursed, "You and your brother should both visit a mental hospital; both of you brothers have issues."
With these words, she grabbed Victoria and turned to walk inside.
Ethan narrowed his cold eyes, glared at Angela’s back, sneering lightly.
Back in the office, Victoria was in a daze, sitting at her desk with myriad thoughts.
Angela patted her shoulder, sitting beside her, "Are you okay?"
Victoria pursed her lips bitterly, her tone somewhat sorrowful, "Angela, am I too lovesick?"
"Why are you asking that?"
"Because with just one touch from Eugene Vaughn, I’m incredibly happy, feeling like there’s hope for our marriage. I’m always expecting in disappointment, and healing myself in expectation."
Angela ruffled her hair, eyes full of pity, "If there’s hope, who would willingly divorce? Your thoughts are the normal ones."
Victoria sighed lightly, lowered her head, adjusting her emotions.
Indeed, if the marriage is happy, who would want to be single?
At this moment, Victoria’s phone rang.
She took out her phone from her pocket, saw the caller ID was Eugene Vaughn, hesitated for a few seconds, answered and put it to her ear.
Eugene Vaughn’s voice was slightly deep, "Victoria, I’m taking you to meet several hospital directors. Bring your things out; I’m waiting at the door."
"Okay." Victoria put aside her worries, hung up the call, and began to pack her things.
Angela asked nervously, "What’s the matter?"
"Eugene Vaughn is taking me to talk business." Victoria took out her bag, gathered a stack of useful documents, and stuffed them into her backpack.
Angela was excited and gave her a cheering gesture, "Good luck, President Sinclair!"
Victoria smiled broadly and hurriedly headed out.
