Conquest Game: The Aloof Husband is Dangerous!
Chapter 107 - 103: Take Her Back
CHAPTER 107: CHAPTER 103: TAKE HER BACK
Mason Cross swallowed, "Miss Quincy is currently in Silverstream, but there’s just been word from there of an earthquake, I’m afraid the plane can’t land easily right now..."
Jason Hawthorne’s face darkened, "Get my private jet ready."
Mason Cross was astonished, "BOSS, isn’t that too much of a move?"
Jason Hawthorne reprimanded coldly, "Stop with the nonsense!"
Mason Cross: "Uh..."
It seemed the BOSS was determined to go to Silverstream to find Miss Quincy this time, and no one could stop him.
I’d better prepare for the aftermath!
To avoid the need for emergency PR if something goes wrong later...
Jason Hawthorne rushed to Silverstream, afraid that Laura Quincy would be on the disaster list.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t get in touch with Laura Quincy. Just knowing she was in Silverstream felt like a needle in a haystack. The thought of her running around with her leg injury unstabilized drove him to worry.
He searched until three in the morning. After getting off the plane, a special car took him to the hospital. As it turned out, the night-shift nurse didn’t know about patients checking in during the day. At this hour, doctors were basically at home sleeping, and even if he searched for Laura Quincy, he couldn’t ask anyone...
In desperation, he almost wanted to tear down this lousy hospital! They hadn’t even registered the patients’ names!
After barely enduring until dawn, he searched for almost two hours without finding Laura Quincy’s name, and he couldn’t help but doubt whether she was in the hospital...
Calling her cellphone, and it was still off.
Jason Hawthorne was so angry he nearly smashed his phone, SHIT!
A phone turned off can’t even be located by satellite, so he spent an entire day scouring every hospital in Silverstream, without finding any patient named Laura Quincy.
He couldn’t help but wonder if Laura Quincy was injured and hospitalized or if he was searching in the wrong place...
To be cautious, Jason Hawthorne checked every hospital again, not even missing small clinics, but still to no avail. He wondered if he was in the wrong direction, as such intensive searches couldn’t find her, which could only mean one thing—
Laura Quincy wasn’t in the hospital at all!
Then where was she?
Such a big event as an earthquake with her leg injury, where could she go if not stay in a hospital?
Thinking of this, he was on fire with anger, this woman was truly worrisome!
In the afternoon, Jason Hawthorne had all the inns and hotels in Silverstream checked. With the current real-name registration system, as long as she stayed in a hotel, her whereabouts should be traceable.
This massive undertaking took another whole day.
This time, they finally found some clues, confirming that Laura Quincy was indeed staying at a local specialty inn, but checked out at noon today...
The hard-earned clue was abruptly cut off, but what was comforting was learning from the owner that despite Laura Quincy going out with a leg injury, she was in good spirits, and the girl with her took good care of her, reportedly a doctor...
Jason Hawthorne knew that girl must be Nina Pierce.
Because of this, he finally felt relief, grateful that she was fine.
Knowing it was Nina Pierce with her made things easier. If they could find Nina Pierce’s number, finding Laura Quincy wouldn’t be hard.
Laura Quincy never expected there would be an earthquake upon arriving in Silverstream, but fortunately, she and Nina didn’t visit any tourist spots, just stayed within the old town, so they were unharmed.
After checking out at noon, the two of them boarded a bus to the train station, but after a short while, the road ahead got blocked.
Many cars stopped there not knowing why. Luckily, there weren’t many vehicles on this stretch of road, otherwise, it could have caused an accident...
While they were anxiously waiting, Laura Quincy, sitting by the window, suddenly opened her eyes wide, staring at a gradually clearer figure. Why did he look somewhat like... Jason Hawthorne?
Was it just her imagination?
She wiped her eyes in disbelief, realizing he looked more and more like him...
As that man walked confidently toward their bus, she could hardly breathe, OMG! It really was him!
Could his entrance be any more explosive, cool, and flamboyant?
Was he here to find her? How did he know she was here?
Instantly, her feelings were indescribably complex...
Companions, both male and female, were shocked with wide eyes, especially the girls, who had pink stars popping up in their eyes...
Wow! So cool! What does this man do to be so devilishly handsome and outrageously stunning? His chiseled, deep features were comparable to those of Hollywood movie stars, and as he got closer and closer, it felt harder to breathe!
Jason Hawthorne approached the vehicle Laura Quincy was in step by step with a cold expression, and she suddenly wanted to pretend not to know him, like an ostrich hiding its head. But he stood tall before her, coldly ordering, "Get out."
Such simple words with an undeniable authority and dominance, everyone on the bus stared at Laura Quincy, as she awkwardly sat there, "My leg is still injured, I can’t walk."
Jason Hawthorne stared at her with a frosty mask, days of searching and rushing around had exhausted him, a hint of fatigue showing at the corners of his eyes, yet his aura remained strong, with a forced smile he spoke, "You knew you had a leg injury, yet you still went running around?"
Laura Quincy pouted, who was he to blame her?
What did her leg injury have to do with him?
She didn’t need his fake kindness!
"I have the freedom to go wherever I want!"
Jason Hawthorne glanced at her coldly, gestured to the people blocking the road ahead, and the path cleared instantly. The car Laura Quincy was in initially wanted to wait for her, but the cars behind kept honking, coupled with the intimidating aura of the man in front of them, enough to scare them witless at just one look...
So, it’s better not to get involved in people’s family matters.
In the car, people were chatting endlessly:
"What do you guys think Laura Quincy’s identity is? That man is just too cool, handsome, wild, and domineering! If only he were my boyfriend."
"You’re just dreaming! A man like that looks like a phoenix among men; maybe they’re not in the kind of relationship we imagine."
"Could they be siblings?"
"Um... they don’t look like it. The way that man looks at Laura is clearly different, and don’t you think he seems very familiar?"
"Familiar? I wouldn’t have thought so if you hadn’t mentioned it, but now it feels like I’ve seen him somewhere before."
"Uh..."
The traffic on the road resumed quickly. Jason Hawthorne naturally would not stand by the roadside for others to watch and critique. He directly picked up the injured-legged Laura Quincy out of the car...
Laura Quincy was shocked and struggled desperately, "Let me go!"
Jason Hawthorne ignored her, saying grumpily, "Shut up!"
Laura Quincy felt utterly wronged. Why was he shouting at her? Obviously, he’s the bad guy playing with two relationships at once, yet he’s still angry at her?
Why?
The person who should truly be angry is her!
Nina Pierce hurriedly followed them out, "Let her go, Jason!"
Jason Hawthorne went his way unbothered; he just wanted to take Laura Quincy back quickly.
Laura Quincy continued to struggle, pinching him repeatedly, "Bastard! Why are you treating me like this? You think I’m your pet? You feel like coaxing me when you remember, and kick me away when you don’t?"
She got more and more angry as she spoke, tears of grievance welled up...
Jason Hawthorne frowned, "I never thought of you as a pet."
Laura Quincy sneered, "Men’s sweet words are completely unreliable! Let me go! If you forcibly take me back, I’ll hate you forever!"
Nina Pierce finally caught up with them, "She doesn’t want to go back with you, you can’t force her!"
Jason Hawthorne paused, "This is a misunderstanding."
Nina Pierce spat, "Misunderstanding my ass! What else do men say when facing things apart from this?"
Though Nina’s words annoyed Jason Hawthorne somewhat, considering she was Laura’s best friend, he did not fuss with her.
He just stared at the woman in his arms, "Stop making a fuss; I’ll explain once we get back."
Laura Quincy turned away, "I don’t want to hear your explanation."
Nina’s words expressed her true feelings, what she hated most was men explaining with flowery words at such times. Where was he before?
If he dared to do it, shouldn’t he dare to face it?
Laura Quincy’s attitude irritated Jason Hawthorne greatly. He thought he was already speaking to her humbly, but she just wouldn’t listen and continued to be contrary...
Then, ignoring everything, he took Laura Quincy away forcefully. Because her foot hadn’t healed, she had no way to resist, allowing Jason Hawthorne to take her back domineeringly.
Throughout, she never interacted with him, not with a glance, treating him like air.
Nina Pierce couldn’t stand seeing her friend being wronged, especially since Jason was at fault in this matter. Even if he was the unattainable male god, he shouldn’t commit such principled mistakes!
Jason Hawthorne ignored Nina’s words, instructing those around him to take her back to Aethelburg alone, while he took Laura Quincy back on a private jet.
Usually, Laura Quincy might enjoy the luxury of the private jet, but today she was just utterly listless, especially since Jason Hawthorne separated her from Nina, just the thought made her furious!
After the plane took off, Jason Hawthorne softly asked, "Do you want to eat something?"
Laura Quincy looked blankly, ignoring him completely.
Jason Hawthorne’s gaze flashed with impatience, "Shall I pour you a cup of warm water?"
Laura Quincy still ignored him, acting as if he didn’t exist...
Jason Hawthorne’s anger gradually rose, he forcefully turned Laura Quincy’s chin, compelling her to look at him, but her gaze stayed unfocused, stubbornly refusing to look at him...
"Laura Quincy, I’ve said it, this is just a misunderstanding, stop making a fuss!"
His force was a bit heavy, Laura Quincy’s chin hurt slightly, but all of it paled against the pain in her heart, misunderstanding?
Did he think just one word "misunderstanding" should make her forgive him?
What did he regard her as? A pet to tease whenever he felt like it, not able to show too much emotion? Expected to be obedient and well-behaved?
Ha...
Sorry, she really couldn’t do it!
