CHAPTER 28: CHAPTER 28: THE COLD-BLOODED AND HARSH DEVIL!

Jason Hawthorne glanced at her and snorted coldly, "Witty tongue!"

Then, he strode off first.

Watching his departing figure, Laura Quincy couldn’t help but make a face; truly a cold-blooded and harsh demon king!

However, the thought of soon meeting her boyfriend, Jasper, made her bad mood vanish, and she headed towards the exit they had agreed upon, dragging her suitcase.

Jasper Hawthorne was waiting for his girlfriend at the exit, and from a distance, through the crowd, he thought he saw someone looking a lot like his third uncle, but before he could see clearly, the figure was gone.

"Jasper!"

Laura Quincy shouted from a short distance away, waving her hand.

Jasper Hawthorne looked towards the source of the voice. He hadn’t seen Laura for eight days. She seemed even more beautiful, and there was an indescribable elegance and charm about her in her professional attire.

He walked towards her, smiling as he opened his arms.

Laura happily jumped into his embrace, the warmth of his hug making her feel blissful.

"Laura, I missed you."

"Me too."

The two of them quietly embraced each other in happiness, ignoring everyone else around them.

Two minutes later, Jasper Hawthorne released his girlfriend from his arms, "Why are you alone? Weren’t you on a business trip with your boss?"

At the mention of her boss, Laura was full of complaints, "Don’t get me started on that cold-blooded demon king! He’s the most difficult boss I’ve ever met! No contest!"

Seeing his girlfriend’s exasperated look, Jasper affectionately pinched her nose, "Oh? Such a difficult boss? Maybe you should just fire him."

Laura pouted playfully, "Forget it! I won’t mention him anymore! Once I’ve improved my own skills, I’ll fire him and leave!"

Jasper Hawthorne took one of her suitcases in one hand and held her hand with the other as they headed towards the parking lot. Their handsome and beautiful appearance attracted quite a few glances from passersby.

They look so perfect together!

Laura felt sweetness in her heart, sweeping away her previous unhappiness!

Once they got in the car, Jasper asked, "What would you like for dinner tonight?"

Laura bit her lower lip and thought for a moment, "How about we go to Old Liu’s on Old Street? The food there is great!"

Jasper smiled and glanced at her, "My boss gave me quite a bonus from this business trip. Let’s have some Western food tonight at ’L’Empereur,’ the place we passed by before."

Laura pouted, "Won’t it be expensive? Your salary isn’t that much."

Jasper shook his head, his voice gentle, "No worries, I can afford to take care of you."

Hearing her boyfriend’s words, Laura chuckled, biting her finger, feeling incredibly sweet inside.

Mason Cross noticed that the boss came back from this business trip in a foul mood! His face was as dark as a storm cloud, so much so that Mason didn’t dare ask where Miss Quincy went. Didn’t she come back with the boss?

David drove cautiously, not daring to touch the gloomy atmosphere inside the car.

Suddenly, Jason Hawthorne spoke, "Have you found out who Laura’s boyfriend is yet?"

Mason Cross’s heart skipped a beat, damn it! He had hit a sore spot...

"It was my oversight, I’ve been delayed by too many things these past days."

"It seems your efficiency is getting lower and lower!" Jason Hawthorne’s voice was as cold as frost.

Mason immediately understood, it seemed like Miss Quincy had upset the boss...

"I deserve to be punished."

"Find out by today whether Laura has a boyfriend or not, or else pack your bags and head to Zanthos!"

"...Yes."

L’Empereur, a high-end Western restaurant.

Ever since her mother passed away, Laura hadn’t set foot in such a luxurious place again—not because she didn’t want to, but because of financial constraints.
