CHAPTER 38: CHAPTER 38: A BLIND DATE BUT RAN INTO THIRD UNCLE

Jasper Hawthorne managed to passably impress her, but he didn’t show it. "No worries, a man should be more gentlemanly."

Serena Jennings then took a closer look at the man opposite her, his features were well-defined, his contours distinct, and his temperament mildly refined. He was her type.

Moreover, his attitude was something she really liked!

She then sat opposite him, and Jasper quickly rang the bell to call the waiter over to order, then the two of them began to chat casually.

Upon finishing their meal and leaving, Jasper Hawthorne and Serena Jennings were still delighting in each other’s company.

"Serena?"

An unexpected voice from behind made both of them turn their heads simultaneously, and upon seeing the couple approaching them, their expressions varied.

Serena Jennings looked cheerful, "Second sister? You’re here too?"

Jasper looked slightly embarrassed as he called out, "Third uncle."

Jason Hawthorne gave an imperceptible nod as a gesture, as his connection with this big nephew was always shallow, only... was he not supposed to have a girlfriend?

To think he would actually follow his father’s arrangements for a blind date, apparently, his ambition is not small!

Only fear that his girlfriend Laura Quincy was not aware of this, right?

Well now, it’s getting interesting!

Stella Jennings hadn’t expected her little sister to immediately have a blind date with the Eldest Grandson of the Hawthorne Family, Jasper Hawthorne, upon her return. It seems their father was prepared on multiple fronts.

"Serena, we’re heading off first."

Stella Jennings knew Jason Hawthorne wasn’t fond of needless conversation, and his relationship with his older brother wasn’t great either, and he didn’t have much connection with this big nephew either, so lingering here would only make her seem clueless.

Serena Jennings’ mind was entirely focused on Jasper at this point, so she quickly waved to her second sister, "Bye-bye!"

She and Jasper still had other activities planned, so being with her second sister and the others naturally wasn’t convenient.

After eating, Laura Quincy suggested going to the movies, and the two of them deposited their things at the front desk. While Laura was engrossed in buying tickets on her phone, Nina Pierce suddenly looked up and saw a familiar silhouette gliding past in front of her.

She incredulously raised her head, but unfortunately, there were too many people, and in the blink of an eye, the silhouette was gone.

After pondering for a few seconds, she teased her friend with an air of nonchalance, "A woman with a boyfriend wants me to accompany her to a movie. Where’s your Jasper Hawthorne? What’s he up to?"

Laura Quincy pouted, "He had something to do! His job often comes with tasks at any moment."

Nina nodded, "Oh, I see!"

If he’s working, then perhaps she mistook it earlier, considering the distance and the numerous shadowy figures, it’s true that many people in the world resemble each other.

Judging just by a profile to rashly tell her friend that her boyfriend was secretly seeing another woman was too much like grasping at straws, better left unsaid!

On Tuesday afternoon, Laura Quincy had just finished her current task when Deputy Team Leader Stella Jennings called her into the office. Bewildered, she went in.

"Here’s an Arabic document. You’ll need to work overtime to translate it tonight. It’s urgently needed tomorrow morning," Stella said with an expressionless face.

"Isn’t there a colleague in our team who specifically handles Arabic?" Laura asked, expressing her internal doubts.

Stella looked up at her, "Are you the team leader or am I the team leader?"

Laura hesitated, "Will there be overtime pay?"

Stella’s lips curled into a mocking smile, "Of course!"

Laura pursed her lips, "Okay, I’ll get it done."

Stella handed her the document, and as she watched her leave, she felt slightly puzzled. Why was Jason suddenly so urgent to need this document? It couldn’t wait for Ella to return and translate it...
