CHAPTER 39: CHAPTER 39: WAITING FOR THE SHOW TO BEGIN

Two minutes later, she dialed the internal landline on the fifty-ninth floor, "Jason... President Hawthorne, I have handed the documents to Laura Quincy, who knows Arabic."

She almost reflexively said "Jason."

Jason Hawthorne responded indifferently with a "Hmm," and prepared to watch the show unfold.

Just as she was about to hang up, Stella Jennings said again, "Jason, tomorrow is Twinkle’s birthday, I want to take him to the amusement park, hasn’t he always wanted to go?"

Jason Hawthorne frowned slightly; he had told Stella Jennings many times that she should call him "President Hawthorne" at the office, and besides, they weren’t that close. Jasper Hawthorne lovingly rubbed her hair, "I’ll treat you to dinner, save your money to pay off the car loan."

Laura Quincy cupped her cheeks, smiling sweetly, "I suddenly realize I’m especially lucky!"

Jasper Hawthorne was dazzled by her bright smile, and shifted the topic, "Your stepsister hasn’t come to bother you, has she?"

Laura Quincy shook her head, "No! Even if she comes, I’m not afraid."
