CHAPTER 49: CHAPTER 49: A SURPRISING COINCIDENCE (PART 1)
Mr. Hawthorne was surprised, but then regained his usual calmness. "So Miss Quincy is the tutor hired for Twinkle."
Laura Quincy was stunned for a second, "Isn’t this a mistake? The ideal students I chose were junior high or high school students for English..."
Just as she finished speaking, Justin Hawthorne pouted, "Sister, don’t you want to be Little Mars’ tutor?"
His voice was soft and adorable, making people feel pity.
Laura Quincy felt tenderhearted upon hearing that, "That’s not what I meant."
Justin eagerly took up the conversation, "Then you’re saying yes, sister! Wow! That’s great! With you teaching me English, I’m sure I’ll learn quickly!"
Seeing Little Mars so happy made it even harder for Laura Quincy to refuse. She originally wanted to keep a complete distance from The Demon King, but it turned out they were getting closer...
Sigh!
Mr. Hawthorne knew that this was definitely arranged by Mason Cross; otherwise, it wouldn’t be such a coincidence.
"I believe Miss Quincy has seen my requirements for tutors. No tardiness or absences on the two weekend days. If there’s an emergency, you must ask for leave in advance. My Twinkle is only five years old, but Miss Quincy still needs to teach earnestly since a child’s early education is crucial..."
Laura Quincy nodded repeatedly, "Don’t worry, Mr. Hawthorne. Since I’ve agreed to tutor Twinkle in English, I will naturally take it seriously."
Justin Hawthorne was seriously sitting there listening to the conversation between his father and sister, his big, shiny eyes darting around, as if planning something...
"Regarding compensation, the first three months of probation will be 6000 per month. If Miss Quincy’s teaching attitude satisfies me, I’ll consider doubling it. Additionally, the weekend nanny is off, so if you can help with Twinkle’s daily care, I can add more money."
Laura Quincy didn’t consider this a big issue, so she nodded, "Hmm."
After both parties reached an agreement, they decided to start tutoring from this Saturday. The happiest of all was Justin Hawthorne, who cheered, "Oh yeah! That’s great!"
Seeing his son so happy, Mr. Hawthorne knew that this decision was correct, and at the same time, it prevented Laura Quincy from dating his nephew, Jasper Hawthorne, on weekends.
It was simply a win-win solution!
Laura Quincy certainly didn’t know about the little secrets in his heart. Although initially a bit resistant to being involved with The Demon King, Little Mars was so adorable; after all, the child was innocent, and she liked him too. Teaching him English was sure to be a delightful task...
"Sister, what do you like to eat? I want to call Mrs. Miller to make lots of delicious food tonight." Justin Hawthorne said cheerfully.
Laura Quincy quickly declined, "After the lesson, I’ll head home."
Justin Hawthorne immediately pouted, "Sister is bad! You just promised Dad to take care of Twinkle, now you won’t even stay for dinner!"
Saying so, he turned his head with a feigned expression of anger.
Laura Quincy extended her hand halfway... helplessly looked to Mr. Hawthorne for help, silently mouthing: What should I do?
Mr. Hawthorne shrugged, indicating he had no solution.
Laura Quincy could only walk over and coax, "Twinkle, be good. Sister promises to have dinner with you."
Justin Hawthorne immediately turned his head up happily, extending a little finger to pinky-swear with her, "Promise me!"
Laura Quincy nodded, "Hmm."
Mr. Hawthorne watched their close interaction, a strange feeling surged in his heart. If only this moment could last forever...
