CHAPTER 50: CHAPTER 50: A SURPRISING COINCIDENCE (PART 2)

Immediately, she was startled by her own thoughts.

The first class in the afternoon with Justin Hawthorne was pleasant, filled with laughter and joy, and time flew by.

Jason Hawthorne didn’t go to the company in the afternoon; instead, he worked in the study. Occasionally, he could hear the joyful laughter coming from his son’s room, causing the corners of his lips to turn up slightly, feeling content.

Before dinner, Laura Quincy suddenly received a call from her boyfriend, Jasper Hawthorne. "Laura, I’ve been really busy with work lately. How about we have dinner together tonight?"

Laura was stunned for a moment; she hadn’t expected Jasper to ask her out tonight...

"Jasper, I..."

She had just begun speaking when she noticed Twinkle looking up at her with big, innocent eyes like black gemstones.

She suddenly remembered she had promised Twinkle to have dinner with him.

"I have something to do tonight. How about tomorrow night?"

"Laura, I’m just downstairs at your place. What plans do you have tonight?"

"Jasper, I just got a part-time tutoring job today, it’s my first day, so I can’t leave early..."

Laura said, looking guilty.

Jasper couldn’t help feeling a bit displeased. In his girlfriend’s heart, could a part-time job possibly be more important than him?

"I see."

"..."

Laura was about to say something more but realized the call had already been hung up. She couldn’t help feeling a bit dejected. Was Jasper angry?

Twinkle ran over to Laura, looking up with starry eyes, "Sister, you’re not leaving, right?"

Laura felt that no one could say no under Twinkle’s gaze, involuntarily shaking her head, "Sister won’t leave."

Twinkle immediately happily dragged her to the dining room for dinner. His goal was to make his sister his mommy!

During dinner, Laura was a bit distracted, especially with the light rain falling outside, matching the mood in her heart. She quietly sent a message to her boyfriend Jasper, but received no response.

Jason Hawthorne, sitting opposite her, noticed her mood, a look of displeasure crossed his face. Damn woman! Thinking about another man during dinner!

It seemed that he needed to choose a suitable opportunity to let her know the truth...

As they were halfway through dinner, a sudden thunderclap roared across the sky, making Laura look outside worriedly, "It seems the weather is changing, maybe I should go back?"

Twinkle pouted and said in a childish voice, "Sister, we haven’t finished eating yet!"

Jason Hawthorne glanced up at her, "It’s only 7:30. The rain will stop shortly."

Laura: "..."

However, the rain didn’t stop; instead, it poured harder, accompanied by lightning and thunder, as if the sky was about to explode, leaving no room for respite.

Laura grew increasingly restless, and even when playing games with Twinkle, she found herself distracted...

Twinkle couldn’t help but pout, "Sister, don’t intentionally let Twinkle win!"

Laura smiled faintly, "How could that be? It’s because Twinkle has improved."

Twinkle grinned and pulled her to play another round...

Jason Hawthorne sat on the sofa on the other side, looking over stocks and some project plans sent by Mason Cross, occasionally taking note of the activity beside him.

At 10 p.m., the rain outside still showed no signs of stopping, the lightning and thunder relentless in their continuance.

Laura simply couldn’t sit still any longer. "Twinkle, sister really has to go back now."
