CHAPTER 109: CHAPTER 65 LI RENJUN SAID: MY SECOND BROTHER AND SISTER-IN-LAW BROKE UP FOR THE 3RD TIME

Rebecca Quentin kept her back to him, ignoring him completely.

Howard Geoffrey didn’t press the issue and turned to leave the room.

Seeing Geoffrey go, Rebecca hesitated. Should I follow him? Before she could decide, he had already turned back. With a gentle yet dangerous tone, he asked, "You wouldn’t try to leave while I’m gone, would you?"

Would she dare? The urge to shout back at him died, replaced by a dejected lowering of her eyes. Rebecca could only grit her teeth, hating him inwardly.

Geoffrey then closed the door and left.

「Night, ten o’clock.」

Rebecca had just finished her bath and changed into clean clothes. As she stepped out of the bathroom, she saw Geoffrey already standing in the room.

Rebecca froze, her brow furrowing. "You... why are you still here?"

"Did I say I wasn’t going to rest here?"

Rebecca’s eyes widened. Geoffrey, however, had already walked into the bathroom.

Fuming, Rebecca sat on the edge of the bed, pounding the mattress with her small fists in frustration.

However, she quickly thought of a solution...

Walking to the wardrobe, Rebecca pulled out a quilt and spread it on the spacious sofa in the room.

When Geoffrey came out, this was the scene that greeted him—

Rebecca lay on the sofa, her back to him, wrapped tightly in the quilt.

Her childish behavior made him smile faintly. Without hesitation, he approached and scooped her up from the sofa, quilt and all.

"AH!"

Her body was suddenly lifted into the air without warning. Startled, Rebecca began to pound and kick him.

It was as if Geoffrey felt no pain. He carried her to the bed and lay down, holding her fast no matter how much she struggled.

Eventually, Rebecca lost the strength to struggle and lay resignedly on the bed.

Geoffrey seemed to be asleep, but his arm around her never loosened. By midnight, exhausted from a night of restlessness, she finally drifted off.

「The next day.」

Sunlight streamed into the room, illuminating the man and woman still deep in sleep.

Y City’s weather was inherently cool, and the even lower morning temperature caused the slender figure to nestle tightly into the warmth of the person beside her.

The vibration of a phone disturbed the sleeping woman. Annoyed by the persistent buzzing, her hand fumbled on the bedside table. Finding the phone, she sleepily pressed the answer button and put it to her ear. "Hello..."

The caller, clearly not expecting someone else to answer, blurted out, "Howard, I’m sorry! I really didn’t— I truly didn’t lose faith in our relationship—"

Before Christine Quinn could even finish the word ’faith,’ she heard the drowsy, lazy voice of a young woman on the other end. Recognizing it almost instantly, Christine exclaimed in disbelief, "Rebecca Quentin?"

Hearing the other person’s voice in her drowsy state, Rebecca’s eyes snapped open. She stared blankly at the ceiling.

"Rebecca Quentin, is that you?"

Rebecca remained in a daze.

"Don’t think I won’t know it’s you just because you’re not speaking..."

Before Christine could finish, Rebecca abruptly hung up. She then stared, dumbfounded, at his black phone in her hand.

Heavens...

Rebecca abruptly sat up, only then realizing a strong arm was still wrapped around her.

Her sudden movement caused him to frown in his sleep, and he pulled her back into his embrace.

"AH!"

She fell against his chest and immediately tried to sit up, but he held her firmly. "Be quiet!" he muttered impatiently, seemingly awake now.

"Hey!" She struggled, pushing at him with hands and feet, wishing she could kick him off the bed.

Suddenly, he rolled over, pinning her beneath him.

Her breath hitched, her wide eyes staring blankly at him above her.

His eyes were hazy, their dark intensity fixed on her parted, trembling lips as she gasped for breath.

A sudden sense of danger washed over her; in his eyes, she recognized that familiar lust...

"You..." She dared not speak loudly, her hand pressed against his chest. Her face flushed red with a mixture of shame and anger. "Get off me! Now!"

Instantly, her flustered voice seemed to flip a switch on desires he’d kept dormant for four years. He leaned closer, his breath hot against her skin, then he pressed down, his lips capturing hers in a swift, sudden kiss, too fast for her to react.

The sudden kiss made Rebecca’s mind go completely blank. His hot lips moved against hers, kissing her deeply, making it impossible for her to think.
