CHAPTER 179: CHAPTER 100: ROGER LEONARD’S LOOSE TONGUE (PART 2)

Rebecca suddenly felt like she couldn’t hold on any longer. No matter how strong she was, when she met him, she would be completely shattered.

"Are you done talking? Can I go now?" She shifted her gaze away from him at the last moment, Rebecca said softly.

At this moment, Mrs. Geoffrey’s voice echoed from the car.

"Son, it’s almost time. Go to the airport early!"

Howard Geoffrey didn’t respond.

Rebecca, however, turned and walked away with her back to him, leaving gracefully.

Soon, the sound of the car leaving came from behind her...

Her spine, which had been straight, slowly softened. Her hand supported the roadside guardrail. No one knew, and no one saw, that at the moment she turned, tears had already filled her eyes.

"Alright, Doctor Henley, I’m going over now. Goodbye."

After ending the call with the doctor she had an appointment with, Rebecca lowered her head, staring blankly at her abdomen.

Child, I’m sorry...

You should be born into a happy and warm family, not like this, unwanted.

I can’t let you grow up in a healthy family, and I know if you follow me, you’ll inevitably suffer a lot. The only thing I can do is pray that you can reincarnate into a complete family, growing up happily and healthily.

Slowly releasing her tightly pressed pale lips, Rebecca suppressed the bitterness in her heart, took a deep breath, and got up from the bed.

Rebecca packed her things and was about to head out when the door rang.

She hadn’t expected anyone to come looking for her, so she opened the door with confusion.

Unexpectedly, standing outside was Roger Leonard.

Rebecca was stunned for a second, then smiled faintly, "General Leonard, I didn’t expect it to be you."

Roger Leonard smiled and politely asked, "Can I come in for a sit?"

Rebecca nodded lightly.

The two sat on the leisure chairs on the room’s terrace, as the warm breeze blew gently. Next to Roger Leonard’s hand was a cup of Blue Mountain coffee Rebecca had just brewed for him.

Roger Leonard took a sip and praised, "I never thought your coffee would be so good!"

Rebecca smiled and replied, "I learned it while helping Mr. Jones with his work before."

Roger Leonard put down the coffee, looked at Rebecca and casually asked, "I guess Dora has never tasted your coffee, right?"

At the mention of Howard Geoffrey, Rebecca’s face slightly changed.

Roger Leonard pretended not to notice, continuing to speak to himself, "I knew it. If only for your coffee-making skills, Dora wouldn’t want to let you go!"

Roger Leonard always knew how to flatter people, but to Rebecca at that moment, these were not what she cared about, so she changed the topic, "General Leonard, stop joking... Let’s talk business, do you have something you need from me?"

Retracting his playful demeanor, Roger Leonard spoke slowly, "Actually, it’s nothing much. I just heard about you and Dora, and since I happened to be in T City, I thought I’d come to see you."

Rebecca asked with a faint smile, "Do you still consider me a friend?"

Roger Leonard replied very seriously, "Of course, I consider you a friend! Dora is Dora, and I am me. If I want to be friends with you, Dora can’t have an objection."

"Huh..."

"Becca, I’m really sorry to say this, if it weren’t for me back then helping Aunt meddle, you and Dora might have..."

"It’s all in the past, no need to mention it." She had never blamed anyone. The only person she could blame was herself. Matters of love are always between two people; if there was no desire in the heart, no matter how outsiders tried to meddle, it wouldn’t be possible to dive in headfirst.

"Alright, let’s not talk about Dora. How about discussing your plans for the future?"

"I haven’t thought about it yet. Just taking it one step at a time."

Roger Leonard sighed, "If you need help..."

"Ugh--"

The sudden feeling of nausea interrupted what Roger Leonard was going to say. Almost immediately, she covered her mouth and rushed to the trash bin in the room.

When Roger Leonard followed her, Rebecca’s nausea had yet to subside. She was now uncomfortably patting her chest.

Roger Leonard came to Rebecca’s side with concern, "Becca, are you okay?"

Rebecca covered her mouth and said, "I’m fine. I need to go to the bathroom..."

Roger Leonard nodded, "Alright."

Shortly after Rebecca entered the bathroom, Roger Leonard followed and stood in front of the bathroom door, worried.

He could vaguely hear Rebecca retching inside the bathroom, and Roger Leonard couldn’t help but furrow his brows.

After a few minutes, Rebecca came out of the bathroom, seeing Roger Leonard by the window. She voiced the excuse she had prepared, "Sorry, maybe I ate something bad."

Roger Leonard walked over to Rebecca, showing his concern, "If you’re not feeling well, you should see a doctor."

"I know."

"Becca, I have other things to attend to today, so I have to leave now."

"Alright." Since her appointment with the doctor was about due, she was already wondering how to get rid of him!

Before leaving, Roger Leonard didn’t forget to turn around and say to Rebecca, "If you need help, you can come to me."

Rebecca gave a faint smile, "Hmm."

Rebecca hurried to the hospital.

Led by a nurse, she walked into the doctor’s office, apologizing to the doctor sitting across from her, "Sorry, Doctor Henley, I’m late."

Doctor Henley kindly said, "It’s alright. I just returned from performing surgery for another patient."

Rebecca couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

Doctor Henley asked, "Do you want to rest for a while, or..."

Rebecca immediately shook her head, "No need, doctor. Please do the surgery as soon as possible."

"Alright, I’ll do a check-up first, and after that, we can proceed with the surgery."

"Okay."

After the check-up, the doctor held Rebecca’s medical records and the report that had just come out and asked, "Have you had a past experience of miscarriage?"

"Yes, an accident occurred, but it was several years ago."

The doctor furrowed his brows slightly, "Are you sure you don’t want this child either?"

Seeing the doctor’s expression, Rebecca asked in confusion, "Doctor, is there a problem?"

Doctor Henley spoke slowly, "I just performed a check-up on you and found that your uterine wall is thin. You just mentioned you experienced a miscarriage before; I think it’s due to the accidental miscarriage last time. Though it’s not a major issue, the problem is that if you undergo another abortion surgery now, I’m very worried that this surgery would further harm your already fragile uterus... Therefore, I want you to make a cautious decision."
