Chapter 186 - 104: Just Like When He Spoiled Her Before (Part 1)
CHAPTER 186: CHAPTER 104: JUST LIKE WHEN HE SPOILED HER BEFORE (PART 1)
Not thinking much, Rebecca Quentin was about to enter the elevator to go upstairs when a love-struck female colleague immediately approached, "Secretary Quentin, is the CEO asking you to go up?"
"Yes."
"I’m so envious of you, being able to meet Mr. Geoffrey... you wouldn’t believe how handsome he is..."
"Mr. Jones wants me to go upstairs and make coffee, do you want this opportunity?"
The female colleague helplessly shook her head, "Better not, if the CEO wants to see you, I’d be in trouble... never mind, I hope Mr. Geoffrey meets me in my dreams."
Rebecca Quentin smiled and walked into the elevator.
Even though they had nothing to do with each other anymore, recalling the cold and decisive words he once said, she still felt apprehensive. Fortunately, she was more composed now than before, and wasn’t afraid to see him.
After knocking and getting Skyler Jones’ response, Rebecca Quentin calmly entered the office.
In the office, three men were discussing the international project set to start in six months...
Rebecca Quentin immediately recognized the foreigner who was very familiar with Howard Geoffrey...
She had seen him in the newspapers, he seemed to be the master of the international project set for six months later, and had always been close to Howard Geoffrey. During the two years she was married to Howard Geoffrey, she had accompanied him to an event where she met this person, but she was young and naive then, quite different from now.
Since there was a coffee machine in the office, Rebecca Quentin quickly brewed triple-strength coffee and brought it over.
With a faint smile, she calmly placed the coffee beside them.
Howard Geoffrey naturally noticed her the very second she walked into the office, but he was always hard to perceive, leisurely lounging on the sofa, seemingly fully immersed in work. Even when she handed the coffee to him, his gaze didn’t seem to linger on her for a second.
Rebecca Quentin handed the coffee to Robinson, but suddenly, Robinson grabbed Rebecca Quentin’s hand...
This moment, Howard Geoffrey moved slightly.
Skyler Jones, however, stood up first with a stern face, about to explode, when Robinson spoke, "Little secretary, you look familiar to me, have we met before?" Earlier in the lobby, because Rebecca Quentin walked fast, Robinson didn’t get a good look at her, so he didn’t realize she was the "fiancée" of Skyler Jones he mentioned downstairs.
Unexpectedly, Robinson still had an impression...
Rebecca Quentin naturally pulled her hand back and smiled, "Mr. Robinson is joking, you are far away in France, I am just a small employee, how could I possibly meet you?"
Upon knowing Robinson wasn’t intentionally being forward, Skyler Jones slowly sat down, also becoming impassive.
Robinson was thinking hard, "You look really familiar, it seems... I remember, Mr. Geoffrey, she seems like you..."
Anticipating what Robinson was about to say, Rebecca Quentin’s heart suddenly quivered.
Thankfully, Skyler Jones diverted the topic, "Mr. Robinson, don’t tease the young lady... let’s continue the previous topic, is there a chance you might want to let the project be done by ’Oversky’ or ’Skytop’?"
Robinson returned to the topic and replied, "Of course, I’ve known Mr. Geoffrey for years, I trust him. Since he’s busy with several projects and prefers ’Oversky’ to take this project, I naturally will give insider info to ’Oversky’ during the bid."
"Very well, ’Oversky’ will do its utmost to secure this project!"
Nightfall.
In the most upscale business club in Y City.
Manager Yew from ’Oversky’s’ PR department again toasted Howard Geoffrey.
"Mr. Geoffrey, I represent Mr. Jones in another toast to you..."
Lazily sitting on the sofa, Howard Geoffrey clinked glasses with Manager Yew, eyes slightly tipsy.
Manager Yew was not much older, looking about thirty, with a youthful, beautiful demeanor, which made the nearby Robinson constantly infatuated.
"Manager Yew should toast me, you’ve toasted Mr. Geoffrey several times..." Elderly over fifty, Robinson spoke.
Manager Yew, being a social expert, naturally sat next to Robinson, her voice playful, "I heard Mr. Geoffrey doesn’t handle alcohol well, so I want him to drink more, then slowly drink with Mr. Robinson..."
Robinson contentedly drank with Manager Yew, yet still retained his reason and asked, "Why is Mr. Jones taking so long on a phone call and hasn’t come in?"
Manager Yew laughed sheepishly, "Oh, Mr. Jones must be on a call with Miss Quentin? They might be engaged in deep conversation..."
