CHAPTER 355: CHAPTER 190: BECCA, YOUR FUTURE HUSBAND IS HERE TO PICK YOU UP (PART 3)

After reading the report, Christine Quinn and Rebecca Quentin sat down on the sofa in the living room.

Marilyn Quinn snuggled up to her mother and innocently asked, "Mommy, was Uncle Geoffrey angry on TV?"

"Marie, be a good girl and go check if Andrew is awake in his room. Mommy needs to have a chat with Auntie first."

"Okay."

Marilyn obediently went into the room.

Christine Quinn began, "Becca, others may not know, but you and I both know that anything Howard Geoffrey has to personally clarify must not be easy to resolve. It seems that Howard is indeed in big trouble this time. It’s obvious he was trying to cover up ’Skytop’s current predicament on TV just now..."

Rebecca Quentin muttered blankly, "How could Howard let things get to this point?"

"I suspect that in the past, Howard’s matter of lending money to Skyler Jones was deliberately magnified by someone with an agenda. What was supposedly a one or two-month cash flow issue was intentionally escalated to make it seem like ’Skytop’ couldn’t pay salaries, and because ’Skytop’ couldn’t compete for the Italian project due to lack of funds, this was further used to cause trouble, leading to a drop in ’Skytop’s stock... A couple of days ago, I saw ’Skytop’s stock had already fallen to X dollars and X cents. If Howard doesn’t take action, I think ’Skytop’ will be in danger...," Christine analyzed.

"Indeed, the intrigue in the business world is unseen by us. This time ’Skytop’ must have been sabotaged by someone with ulterior motives... But do you know what kind of measures Howard plans to take to solve this?"

Christine assessed Rebecca’s worried face and smiled, "You say you don’t care about him, but as soon as you know he has issues, you look worried."

"Sis, you’re still teasing me at a time like this... Even if I’m not with Howard, I don’t want to see him fail. After all, ’Skytop’ is his creation and the culmination of his life’s work."

Christine put away her teasing smile and seriously said, "To be honest, I also don’t want anything to happen to Howard... But what can we do now?" Christine began to worry.

After careful consideration, Rebecca said, "’Skytop’ ended up like this because Howard lent all his liquid assets to Mr. Jones. Christine replied, "Actually, ’Skytop’ has a lot of major projects this year; it doesn’t need to compete for the Italian project. Just like how ’Skytop’ allowed ’Oversky’ to take over the Gold Coast project, ’Skytop’ has achieved its targets this year. But now those with bad intentions are making a big fuss over ’Skytop’s lack of funds. To stifle the rumors of financial shortage, ’Skytop’ must secure funds to win the Italian project... Once ’Skytop’ wins this project, all problems will be resolved."

Rebecca asked herself, "How to obtain this funding? Borrow from the bank?"

Christine shook her head, "For such large sums, I fear even the banks wouldn’t dare lend."

Without tens of billions in funding, an international major project can’t be acquired.

Rebecca furrowed her eyebrows, "Then what else can be done?"

"I can’t think of anything either... But I feel we don’t need to worry about Howard. He has been through thick and thin creating ’Skytop’ for so many years; he won’t fail just like this," Christine reassured.

Christine carefully opened the quilt, trying hard not to disturb the sleeping Marilyn beside her.

She turned on a dim light, picked up her phone, and walked to the balcony of the suite, dialing a string of numbers.

The phone quickly connected, and the other side still spoke to her in a robotic voice. "It seems you only have time to return my call now."

Christine leaned against the railing and replied, "Rebecca isn’t as foolish as you think. I needed to avoid her to find the time to speak with you."

"You are cautious indeed; no wonder you could even deceive Howard."

"I’m still not cautious enough. If I were, I wouldn’t have been caught by you, needing to do things for you now."
