CHAPTER 105: LOOKING FOR BROTHER XI?

Cameron Grant instinctively placed the phone on the table.

Mia Sutton’s voice came through, a crisp and slightly sweet voice echoing in the room, each word landing steadily in the ears of the two people present.

"Cameron... hello, are you still there?"

For Cameron, each word felt like a bead pounding on his heart, leaving him feeling flustered.

When Mia called out again, Cameron finally spoke under Jensen Sterling’s gaze.

"I’m here..." He organized his thoughts and asked, "May I ask why Miss Sutton is calling?"

"Are you looking for Jensen?"

As he spoke, Cameron lifted his eyes to observe Jensen Sterling’s reaction.

The man leaned back on the sofa, the script he had held in his hand now placed down, fingers interlaced casually on his leg, his gaze calmly fixed on the phone, revealing nothing in his expression.

Cameron thought, please just say you’re looking for Jensen, otherwise he felt like he might be finished.

Mia’s clear voice came through, "No, I’m not looking for him, I’m looking for you."

Cameron: "..."

My life is over!

Having been Jensen Sterling’s agent for so many years, if others didn’t understand him, Cameron surely did.

On the surface, he appeared refined and courteous, doing everything with gentlemanly grace.

But he could never forget the time Jensen had a dog. Initially, he pampered that dog, spending money on it without so much as blinking.

But once someone fed the dog something and it wagged its tail and chased after them.

Jensen didn’t say anything at the time, but later he sold the dog outright, a dog he’d had for nearly two years, gone without hesitation.

All because it chased after someone for food.

Moreover, he spent several days looking for a buyer without feeding the dog a single bite.

No matter how the dog barked, or how it looked at him with those moist eyes, it made no difference!

Cameron thought that after nearly two years, and considering how fond he seemed of the dog during that time, it was an undeniable lesson in the series of dog versus human.

He thought Jensen must have liked it very much.

But then he realized, no, perhaps Jensen didn’t like it as much as he thought.

Because no amount of barking swayed him, and when he sold it, he didn’t blink or even show an emotion, just a calmness that made one feel he had no feelings left.

Cameron remembered he only said one thing, slowly: "Why can’t it just obediently stay with me, without running after others."

After that incident, Cameron never heard Jensen mention the dog again!

That was the first time Cameron realized how strong Jensen’s sense of possession was.

Like that dog, if it was his, it could only be his, it couldn’t wag its tail at others or chase after them.

Otherwise, he’d rather starve it and abandon it!

Although Mia was only a contractual marriage partner, she had legally registered with Jensen Sterling.

That essentially marked her as within his domain.

Cameron could only hope Mia would mention the man sitting on the sofa for him.

Because a completely expressionless Jensen was indeed a bit intimidating.
