CHAPTER 34: THAT’S YOUR SISTER-IN-LAW

"Where did you pick up this young lady from?" Clark Jacobs took a sip from his wine glass, intentionally undoing a top button to reveal his collarbone, and winked.

"Young lady, why don’t you be with me instead? Jensen Sterling has no idea how to win a girl’s heart."

Jensen initially didn’t plan to argue with him, since he knew what this guy was like usually, but listening to him talking more and more absurd.

Jensen’s face darkened, his brows furrowed slightly, and he said in a cold, deep voice, "She’s your sister-in-law!"

That sentence was like a bolt from the blue, shocking everyone senseless.

Clark’s expression hadn’t even changed before the wine he just drank made him choke, coughing several times, his face turning red from holding back.

"Cough, cough... cough, cough." Once he caught his breath, Clark immediately put the wine glass down on the table, dropping his flirtatious act and standing up straight, looking like a model young man.

If it weren’t for the previous scene, Mia Sutton might actually have believed it.

"Sis... Sister-in-law, hello." His voice was a bit stuttered.

Clark was always suave and careless with his words, usually without issues, but he didn’t expect to crash this time and now wished he could go back and slap himself for talking too cheaply.

Mia’s eyes gleamed with mischief, like a sly fox, her round eyes darting around before she said, "Hello there."

Just as Clark thought his sister-in-law was indeed like a fairy, not making things difficult for him, a voice came without any hostility but still making his hair stand on end.

"Did you just say you’re better at charming girls, so are you suggesting I... uh," she tilted her head thinking and continued, "divorce Jensen?"

Upon hearing this, Clark’s eyes widened, almost shaking his head like a rattle drum.

You can mess with food, but words are serious business, this could cause big trouble.

"No way, especially since there are few people as good-looking as my husband, isn’t that right, honey?" She said this while looking brightly at Jensen. Her look was akin to a kitten seeking praise for saying the right thing.

Jensen’s voice went hoarse for a moment, and after a few seconds, he replied, "Hmm."

Their interaction was so harmonious that Clark felt like dying, sulking as he said, "Brother Jensen, I’m wrong, really."

Mia raised her eyebrows slightly with a sweet smile, inwardly thinking: Oh ho, young man, are you nervous now? Not even as handsome as Jensen yet daring to flirt with her?!

Could Clark not be nervous? He was frantic, thinking it was just a lady companion he brought, acting flippant as a joke.

Who would have guessed she was Jensen’s wife!

No wait, who would have known Jensen was actually married! If he had known she was his sister-in-law, even with ten times the courage, he wouldn’t dare say a word.

Though Jensen seemed refined and eloquent, doing everything just right, his bones weren’t like that at all. His possessiveness is frighteningly strong; his belongings, his people, who dares touch them unless they don’t want to live.

"Let’s go over there; I’ll introduce you to some people," Jensen said to Mia.

Before leaving, Jensen glanced at Clark.

Clark, who was about to relax onto the chair...

Bro, he really knows he’s wrong, don’t look at him like that, he’s scared.

Then he saw his little sister-in-law grabbing Jensen’s hand, making his once cold profile soften substantially.

Clark: ...

Whoa! Is this face-changing like a Sichuan opera?
