CHAPTER 39: I GOT A BOYFRIEND

The back seat of the car was not like Sean’s; only Cameron knew that Jensen Sterling and Mia Sutton had an agreement marriage.

In the back, Mia was stunned for a moment, blinked, and then asked, "Should we tell them?"

Jensen Sterling: ...

After pausing for a few seconds, he said, "Yeah."

Jensen reached out to loosen a button on his sleeve: "We didn’t have a wedding, and Mom is already suspicious. She will definitely visit your parents then."

"Oh." Mia nodded, understanding. She was afraid of being exposed.

The agreement was clear: in front of anyone, they were a sweet couple, including her parents.

Complicated!

Mia bent slightly, her elbows on her knees and her hand supporting her head. This was really quite tricky.

She silently repeated four words to herself: gradual, gradual!!!

Then she turned her head and asked Jensen Sterling, "Mr. Sterling, can I tell my parents gradually... Um, it won’t take too long."

Seeing Jensen not speaking, Mia said, "Mr. Sterling, you know, if I suddenly tell them I’m married, I might not survive."

Jensen chuckled at her words: "Sure, tell them slowly, just before Mom visits. She’s out of the country and it might take a few months, so you have time."

At the banquet, the time was almost up, and the older guests had left. When Simon Sutton went inside, he overheard others discussing something.

After listening for a bit and recalling the scene he saw outside, he suddenly understood.

So that girl was Jensen Sterling’s wife.

Because Mia seldom appeared in social circles, others only knew that the Suttons had a daughter, but had never seen her.

This led to Simon not realizing that the girl was his daughter!

Mia first went home, removed her makeup, changed clothes, and was then sent back to the show crew.

At the crew, just before Mia got out of the car, Jensen called her: "Mia."

Mia was startled by this; it was the first time Jensen called her that, wondering what he wanted. Then she noticed Leo’s amused expression.

She turned, half her body leaning into the car, hugging Jensen, then playfully said, "Farewell ceremony."

It was a brief hug, and Mia quickly pulled away, waving and mouthing the word: bye-bye.

After a while, Jensen tidied up his clothes, which Mia had accidentally creased.

Leo, who saw the whole process of Mia getting out of the car, looking at Jensen now, seemed gobsmacked by the sweetness.

Mr. Sterling and Ms. Sutton are really sweet.

He suddenly wanted to get married, to have a sweet wife!

After returning to the dorm, there was only one person inside. They weren’t very familiar with each other, exchanged greetings, and Mia went to her bed and lay down.

She randomly grabbed a plush toy beside her, placing it under her arm as she held her phone and opened WeChat.

She hesitated for a long time, writing and deleting on the phone, finally staring at a line of text in the chatbox.

Closing her eyes, gritting her teeth, she sent it.

After all, whether she stretched her neck or not, it was best to face it straight on; at least her mom was more amenable than Mr. Sutton.

Testing the waters first.

Mia watched the message send, staring for a few seconds, hoping her dear mom wouldn’t be too shocked.

She thought it shouldn’t be a big deal, she hadn’t said much.

The message on her phone read: "Dear Mother, there’s something I’d like to tell you, which is..."

"I’ve started dating a new boyfriend."

Then after thinking it over, felt something was missing, and added:

"Don’t worry, he’s really nice."

Mia thought again carefully, felt there was no problem, then threw her phone far away.

Let this trouble stay away from her for now.
