Chapter 44: Cocoon
CHAPTER 44: COCOON
Lynn Joyner’s fans are caught between frustration and sadness over Nolan Sinclair’s scoring.
However, as the performances rolled on, one after another, with some better and some worse, no matter how the other mentors scored, Nolan Sinclair never gave a score above six.
Lynn Joyner’s fans: Alright, they realized they were mistaken; their idol still received a high score.
The time ticked away second by second, and finally, it was Mia Sutton’s group’s turn.
The song chosen for their dance was: Cocoon
The host on stage: "Next, let’s welcome the Cocoon performance group, at center stage: Mia Sutton!"
In a split second, the lights went out, the background music started to play, the light source changed, gradually brightening without fully illuminating, the background music echoed, as if striking at everyone’s heart, resembling the sound of breaking free from a cocoon.
Suddenly, silence fell, everyone held their breath, and just when hearts leapt into throats... Bang!
The lights burst forth, in that instant, colors flooded their eyes and hearts.
Simultaneously, a high note soared: "Break free from the constraints of the cocoon, rushing towards the brilliance of light!"
The sound hit like thunder, resonating in ears, settling in hearts, causing an uproar.
Seated in the guest seat, Nolan Sinclair snapped his eyes open, looking towards the stage.
There on stage stood Mia Sutton, from her first high note, everyone on stage started moving, like cocoons bound tight, yearning to break free, their movements were powerful, decisive, and clean!
Centered around her, it was an utter release, a soul-shaking spectacle.
Mia Sutton altered the song, naturally adjusting the dance alongside, the original Cocoon was a complete escape, yearning for freedom.
She introduced constraints, and precisely because of these added restraints, the eventual release was all the more stunning.
As the high note faded, Mia Sutton began to move, together with her group on stage, their dance moves were crisp and swift, leaving no room for sluggishness.
The girls all wore pure white outfits, which didn’t impede their movements at all, but rather added an extra layer of charm.
This performance is a blend of song and dance; originally, the video recorded dance and song separately, later merging them, whereas Mia Sutton integrated dance and song.
Rational allocation was performed, enabling a significant reduction in the issue of unstable vocal lines due to intense movements.
Before each person opened their mouth to sing, it ensured her previous dance move was not too intense, allowing sufficient time to adjust her state.
The once lively scene now fell eerily silent, all eyes fixed on the stage, and more precisely on the girl there, focusing even more... on Mia Sutton.
The dance gradually reached the middle part, movements softened, no longer intense, yet not overly fragile, soft does not mean weak, it more closely resembled the final gentleness before shedding constraints.
This portion of vocals was sung by Vivian Summers, her voice carried a naturally clean quality, clear and pure, giving a sense as if one’s soul had been cleansed.
Suddenly, the music ceased again, an expanse of silence, a few seconds later, the sound of drums began.
Swish!
On stage, everyone confidently and stylishly shed their outer garments, flinging them into the air... the white outer garments fluttered down, as if shedding that layer of constraint.
At this moment, they moved again, spinning and leaping again and again; whereas earlier each showcased their own part, now it was Mia Sutton’s stage alone, others willingly faded into the backdrop for her.
Now it was Mia Sutton’s stage alone!
