Contract Marriage: Let's Make It Real, Mrs. Sterling!
Chapter 98: Spending Money on You Is Only Right
CHAPTER 98: SPENDING MONEY ON YOU IS ONLY RIGHT
Jensen Sterling held a phone in one hand while watching Mia Sutton’s live stream, and pressed another phone against his ear with the other hand.
A man’s voice came through the phone, with a teasing tone: "What’s going on? This is a first; you’re recommending someone for an audition."
"Besides, the incident just happened today, and I haven’t even announced the casting yet. Are you asking them to audition with air?"
Jensen’s eyes were still on the live stream, and he replied casually, "I just think it’s not good for the production’s progress to be delayed, and it’s only a recommendation. Whether the person is suitable or not, and whether to use them, is still your decision."
"Moreover, I didn’t say the audition would be today."
The person on the other end seemed to laugh a few times, teased him a bit, then agreed and casually chatted a bit about the casting before hanging up.
Leo, who witnessed the whole process, was still a bit confused: "..."
He couldn’t understand why Mr. Sterling would, while watching the live stream, call the director to recommend Martin Wright for an audition.
But if he knew what was happening in the live stream, he probably wouldn’t be puzzled.
If Cameron Grant found out, he would definitely admire Mr. Sterling’s clever tactics.
With a call from the production team, Martin Wright’s agent would certainly immediately call Martin to go over for the audition.
After all, in the movie "Dawn Breaks," there’s a massive lineup of big stars. It was sure to be a hit. When they first started auditioning, it was quite competitive. Martin’s agent did submit a resume, but he didn’t even make it past the first round.
Now that the production team has called for him to audition, how could he not be excited, even if it’s just news of an audition?
But Martin hasn’t had any events for over two months. Even if it’s just an audition, they can’t miss the opportunity.
This way, Martin won’t be able to watch the live stream, right?
This tactic... brilliant!
On the other side, Martin Wright indeed turned off the livestream and went directly to the company. If he successfully auditions for this script, he could appear in the public eye once again.
......
Meanwhile, Mia Sutton and Lynn Joyner continued the live stream. While Lynn was singing for the fans, Mia took out her phone, placed it on her lap where the camera couldn’t see, and opened WeChat. She quickly typed in the chat with Jensen Sterling.
Jensen saw the little girl on the screen, head down, not sure what she was doing.
A few seconds later, a message popped up on his phone.
[Mia Sutton: Mr. Sterling, was that top donation from you?]
Jensen had reached home, changed into slippers, and replied to the message while walking: "Yes."
Then Jensen saw the girl on the live stream with a "so it was you" expression, her attractive eyebrows slightly furrowed, looking a bit pained.
[Mia Sutton: That’s a lot of money. I suddenly feel rich, but... the platform takes half of it.]
Seeing this sentence, Jensen chuckled softly, amused by the girl’s obvious frustration.
Perhaps finding it inconvenient to hold the phone while watching the live stream and replying to messages, Jensen simply turned on his computer, logged into the live stream account, and left it running.
Then, leaning on the chair, he replied to Mia: "Yes, they do take a lot."
When Mia saw this message, she felt even more frustrated, more and more heartbroken over the money. But she still said, "Mr. Sterling, since you donated so much, I’ll return the money to you later."
Jensen Sterling: "No need, it’s for you to spend. It’s only right."
