CHAPTER 550: VOLUME 6, CHAPTER 34: INDEPENDENT COMMAND AUTHORITY

In the living room, Milan was sitting on the old-fashioned floral sofa, watching TV intently, while holding a bunch of vegetables in her hands. Bonnie, the Gazalin Empire’s acknowledged most beautiful woman, was wearing an apron, carefully placing a tray of cakes into the oven.

Fatty was completely devastated. Though he had guessed there was a connection between Ann Lei and Milan, he didn’t expect Bonnie to also be here.

This was a real death sentence.

"I’m going to check on the academy." Fatty turned around, ready to run away.

"You dare!" Mother Ann pretended to be angry and grabbed Fatty’s arm. She looked at him with a smile she couldn’t hide, "You haven’t even entered the house properly and you’re thinking of running away again? Milan and Bonnie have been waiting for you a long time, go sit on the sofa and chat with them."

Mother Ann’s words left Fatty with a headache. He scrutinized her expression, but it didn’t seem to have any deeper meaning. Feeling awkward, he nodded along sheepishly. Mother Ann dotingly patted his head lightly and then turned, cheerfully heading into the kitchen.

Watching Mother Ann’s figure disappear into the kitchen, Fatty turned around to see Ann Lei busy tidying up the table, not paying him any mind, while Bonnie gave him a teasing smile. Milan was pretending to watch TV, but her eyes kept glancing over in his direction.

Fatty cleared his throat, made a quick decision and pointed towards the kitchen where Mother Ann was and then towards Ann Lei, who had her back to him, giving Bonnie an inquiring look.

Fatty knew that Bonnie couldn’t care less about such situations. To her, a man having several wives was as natural as a teapot having several cups. Perhaps she was the only one who didn’t feel awkward here.

After a while, Bonnie just laughed softly, refusing to give a clear hint. Fatty lowered his eyelids, his mouth barely curving into a smile, as he used his left hand to touch his right shoulder.

Bonnie’s face flushed a deep red. The mature and noble her suddenly seemed so delicate and charming, with her blue eyes filled with shy moisture. The spot Fatty had touched was where Bonnie had left marks with her teeth in moments of passion.

With a mix of shame and anger, Bonnie glared at Fatty, quickly shook her head towards the kitchen, then nodded towards Ann Lei.

He understood. Ann Lei knew about Bonnie, but Mother Ann was still in the dark.

Fatty sighed, feeling he was truly reaping the consequences of his own actions. He suddenly felt an urge to dig out Casper’s work notes to see if there was any advice on handling six wives.

Lost in these chaotic thoughts, Fatty quietly moved to sit beside Milan on the sofa, glancing around nervously.

"Humph!" Milan and Ann Lei both hummed simultaneously, which made Fatty jump up in fright, his round face habitually wearing a smile.

Ann Lei couldn’t hold back her laughter and glanced at Fatty before walking into the kitchen.

Seeing Ann Lei laugh, Fatty finally felt at ease. It seemed that even if there was any danger, it wouldn’t be too fatal.

Fatty sat down, grabbed Milan’s hand before she could avoid him, and grinned cheekily, "I’ve been locked in the lab by the old man these past few days, I couldn’t even sleep thinking about you. Little sister, did you miss me?"

"Who would believe that?" Milan struggled but couldn’t free her hand, her face blushing as she let him hold her, "If it weren’t for Sister Ann Lei going to find you, you probably would’ve forgotten to come back to Gallipalan!" Saying this, she pinched him, "You heartless guy."

Fatty knew he was in the wrong and was eager to find out what was going on between the three women, but he didn’t know what to say.

"You want to know how Sister Ann Lei and I made up, right?" Milan bit her lip, with narrow eyes and a mischievous look.

Fatty nodded vigorously.

"I’m not telling you!" Milan triumphantly stood up, picked up the vegetable basket, and floated into the kitchen. From the kitchen came her delighted voice, "Wow, godmother, your ribs smell amazing!"

"Mi, don’t use your hands...this girl." Mother Ann’s voice was filled with laughter.

"Godmother?" Fatty’s eyes widened, unsure if he should laugh or cry. He realized that the days ahead were going to be tough.

"Wow, is this kid Pipi?" Milan’s excited voice from the kitchen, "It must be Teacher Boswell’s masterpiece. So cute, let me pinch one... You little rascal, take your face away, Bonnie, Bonnie come quickly."

Bonnie laughed as she walked into the kitchen. Inside, the laughter, exclamations, and complaints of the four women mixed with the whimpers of the poor little kid, like a pot boiling over.

In this warm and bizarre atmosphere of the small building, Fatty finally made it to dinner time. The family sat around the dining table, eating and chatting, quite jovially. Especially the three girls who shouldn’t have been in the same place were laughing and talking. However, each time Fatty tried to join the conversation, he was subtly rebuffed. Knowing his low status in the family, he simply focused on eating.

Mother Ann, now older, had an even smaller appetite. After a few bites, she stopped eating and just held the little kid, sitting next to Fatty, watching him intently and giving him food constantly. It was as if she wanted to make up for the lost weight in one meal.

"Godmother!" Milan couldn’t stand it anymore, "Stop giving him more food. He’s already so fat, what do you want to turn him into?"
