CHAPTER 371: SUNSHINE OF A SMILE

Pablo said sorry.

The one who kicked the womb of a pregnant woman without any mercy said sorry to a girl.

If not for Cupid, Andrezj and Sera seeing it, they would have declared it as a fairy tale.

All of them stared at Pablo but Pablo only entertained Sera.

"Don’t look at me like that. I only said sorry. Not proposed you to marry me."

"Yes. Yes. It’s just.. I am surprised."

"Forget it. I am going to sleep. We will talk tomorrow."

Pablo went towards the last room.

Sera held his hand. "Why not sleep with me?"

Pablo narrowed his eyes and before he could say something, Sera added:

"I won’t do anything. I will sleep on the floor. I will just be glad to be with you in one room. I won’t ask anything else."

’She is mad.’

Pablo could only think of this.

"Fine. I will stay with you."

He agreed anyway and went to Sera’s room.

Sera followed behind him.

It was still morning but Sera questioned nothing. If Pablo wanted to sleep then that’s the end of the topic.

Sera closed the door behind her and Pablo jumped on the bed.

He laid face first on the mattress and closed his eyes.

Sera sat on the floor, hugging her knees.

"Can you sleep facing this way?" She asked, hoping Pablo wasn’t asleep yet.

She received no reply and she didn’t ask anything again.

If Pablo was asleep then she wouldn’t make any sound, disturbing him.

However...

"Seriously. You are too much."

Pablo changed his sleeping position.

Now he faced Sera.

But he still kept his eyes closed.

If he had them open, he would have seen the sunshine of a smile on Sera’s face.

One look of Pablo’s face gave birth to stars in Sera’s heart.

A look so lovesick that made Cupid blush and Andrezj jealous.

Like that, Sera remained on the floor watching Pablo and Pablo remained asleep like the feelings in his heart that he had buried in his previous life.

The next day.

Morning arrived.

Pablo slept for twenty four hours straight.

He opened his eyes and was welcomed with the sight of Sera sitting on the floor, hugging her knees, sleeping.

Cupid floated on Sera’s left side.

"Good morning." She said.

"Yeah."

"At least return the greeting."

"Fuck you."

"How dar-"

Pablo ignored the Angel’s rant and got up.

He left the bed and went straight towards the bathroom.

But...

"You are forgetting something." Someone spoke.

Pablo knew that voice.

"What?" He asked.

"Wake up my dearest." Andrezj demanded.

Pablo raised his brow. "Wake her up? Can’t she do that on her own?"

"You ungrateful creature. Do you even know what she did for you?" Andrezj boomed.

"What?" Pablo asked. "And no need to be so hyper. It’s not like I made her stay in that same position for the whole night."

"You did."

"... huh?"

"You did exactly that, Human."

Pablo’s brows shot up.

"She was like this.. for how long?"

He shifted his gaze to Cupid.

"You tell me. And don’t lie."

Cupid nodded.

"You went to sleep yesterday morning and you woke up now, which is today’s morning. So since the moment you hit the bed, she has been sitting like this."

All the sleep went away from Pablo’s face. He was awake now.

He dashed towards Sera, sitting in front of her.

"Why? Why was she doing this? She could at least have slept on the floor? Why sit like this?"

"To watch over you."

"Watch over me? I was sleeping! Just how much did she like seeing my sleeping face?"

"It’s not about that, Pablo."

"Then?"

"When you were in the Hermit slums as a detective, you were sleeping under a tree, she was also there as your assistant. She was sleeping peacefully but then you began screaming in sleep, saw a nightmare and jolted awake the next minute.

Everyone was scared but she was the one who was the most afraid. And no, not because of your shout, Pablo, but because of the thought of the pain you must have felt in your dream."

"Don’t tell me..." Pablo darted his eyes at Sera.

"Yes. She was sitting here watching you just to comfort you if you saw a nightmare again. She remained awake for fifteen hours until Andre made her sleep with a spell."

Pablo gulped.

"That’s why I wanted you to wake her up. She would smile whole day if she saw your face first thing in the morning." Andrezj revealed and Pablo had nothing to say to that.

He had heard about love stories. He even had one back in Earth. But the case of Sera, he only heard about such a thing in fiction.

Nevertheless, he still had a long way to go in the matter of love.

So for now, he would wake Sera up from her sleep.

He placed his hand on her shoulder and gave a gentle shake.

"Hey, wake up." He said.

No response.

Pablo sighed and tried again. But this time he said:

"I am leaving."

"Dear."

Her eyes opened instantly.

’This is almost cringe. But.. what can I say.’

Sera held Pablo’s hands.

"Dear?"

"Yeah. Wake up. Rest on the bed now. Sleeping like that isn’t healthy. It will ruin your digestion."

"Do you need anything? Food? Are you hungry?"

"No. You rest. I will come back soon."

"If you say so."

Sera stood up.

THUD!

She fell down.

"Your legs are numb. Told you it’s not healthy."

"Don’t worry. They will be fine in no time."

Pablo sighed.

"I will help you."

Sera blinked and Pablo brought his hand at Sera’s back.

Then, he lifted her in his arms.

Sera stared at Pablo and her heart would beat itself to death if she stayed like that for even one more second.

Pablo also heard the thumping of her heart and not wanting to witness a heart attack, he placed Sera on the bed as soon as possible.

"Now, sleep a little. I will come back."

"Okay."

Sera smiled and Pablo finally went to the bathroom.

He washed his whole body and got ready.

He came out and as soon as he did that...

RING!

His Reciever rang.

He looked at it and seeing the caller’s name on the screen, his lips curled up.

He picked up the call and pressed the Receiver against his ear.

"Yes, Admiral. What do you want?"
